Horn box
SECURITY :
Important points to be observed when installing the equipment to comply with IEC 364.
1. The horn box (230V) must be placed outside volumes 0, 1 and 2 (equivalent to a minimum
distance of 3.5m) and must be protected by a 16A circuit breaker with 30mA dierential.
2. The displays which are powered by 15VDC and which are splash-proof can be mounted near the
pool during matches.
3. The Scorepad keyboard (230V) must be located outside volumes 0 and 1 and must be protected
by a 16A circuit breaker with 30mA dierential.
4. The power outlets (230V mains) which supply the hornbox and the keyboards must be installed
outside volumes 0, 1 and 2 and must be protected by a 16A circuit breaker with 30mA dierential.4.

* These instructions concern only the installation of the BTX6002 shot clock when it is
used with the BTX6220 WP (water polo) scoreboard.
I - Installation for standalone operating mode
The shotclock keyboard operates then independently.
1/ Connect each BTX6002 WP to the horn box in (B).
2/ Connect the shot clock keyboard to (A) of the horn box: RS485
communication.
3/ Connect the power cord to (C).
The horn box must imperatively be located outside the 0, 1 and 2 volumes
(o water zone) at no less than 3.5m from the pool side.

II - Installation for synchronisation with the main scoreboard
It is possible to synchronise the BTX6002 with the BT6000 main keyboard (stop the game clock and the 30 sec simulta-
neously).
1/ Open up the horn box.
2/ Disconnect the 4 wires and remove the DIN (A) connector. Replace it by the cable gland.
3/ Feed the Data cable (2 wires) coming from the main scoreboard (D) through the gland and connect it on the
terminal block (E) (white wire RT+ and brown wire RT-) of the electronic card inside the horn box.
4/ Close the horn box.
5/ Connect the shot clock keyboard do the main keyboard.
6/ Connect the power cord to (C).
The Horn box must imperatively be located outside the 0, 1 and 2 volumes (o water zone) at
no less than 3.5m from the pool side.

III - Normal operation of the 30 sec. shot clock keyboard
1/ Pressing START / STOP key (1) starts the countdown of the shot clock. Pressing again stops the countdown.
When the countdown reaches 0, a sound signal is generated during 3 seconds. The LED (9) turns red when the shot clock is
stopped and green when the shot clock is running.
2/ Pressing the RESET 24s (2) key for few seconds turns o the display on the BTX6002 and on the keyboard.
When the key is released the shot clock timer is reset to its inial value of 30 sec.
3/ Pressing the CLEAR (3) key causes the blanking of the BTX6002 (the keyboard to displays - -). The timer
continues to countdown.
Pressing this key again causes the LCD display and the BTX6002 to display the current value of the timer.
4/ Pressing the HORN (4) key turns o the horn which comes on when the shot clock reaches 0.
This key does not turn on the horn.
5/ The RESET 20s (8) key is used to set the possession time to 20 seconds. This value can be modied from
the main Scorepad keyboard (see the Scorepad keyboard manual).
IV - Modication of the current shot clock timer value
1/ Stop the shot clock by pressing the START / STOP (1).
2/ Press the C key (6).
The keyboard LCD display, the keyboard LED (9) and the BTX6002 blink.
3/ Pressing the + (5) key increments the shot clock timer value by 1 second.
This value can be greater than the preset value of the RESET (2) (dafault value: 30 seconds).
4/ Pressing the - (7) key decrements the shot clock timer value by 1 second.
5/ Press the C (6) key to go back to normal operation.
V - Retrieval of the shot clock timer value
1/ If by accident, the RESET (2) key was pressed while the shot clock was running, it is possible to retrieve the
value that the timer held at the time of the accident by pressing the CLEAR (3) key within 2 seconds following
the accident.

VI - Modication of the preset value of the RESET (default: 30 sec)
1/ Stop the shot clock by pressing the START / STOP (1).
2/ Press the C key (6) for 3 seconds.
The keyboard LCD display and the BTX6002 display blink. The displayed value is the current preset value of RESET.
3/ The value of the RESET is incremented by 1 sec. each time the + (5) key is pressed. The value cannot
exceed 99 seconds.
4/ The value of the RESET is decremented by 1 sec. each time the - (7) key is pressed.
5/ Press the C (6) key to go back to normal operation.
This parameter is not saved in case of a power failure or if the keyboard is disconnected before the end of the match.
VII - Adjustment of the luminosity of the BTX6002
1/ Press the + (5) key of the shot clock keyboard for 3 seconds. The LCD displays the current luminosity
adjustment level (1 to 5).
2/ Press + (5) to increase the luminosity.
3/ Press - (7) to decrease it.
4/ Press C (6) to validate the luminosity level.
This parameter is not saved in case of a power failure or if the keyboard is disconnected before the end of the match.
VIII - DIP conguration
Position the dip of the BT6000 possession desk according to the desired mode:
AUTO = Standalone mode (switch the 3 dips on the left)
ESCL = Synchronised with main keyboard (switch the 3 dips on the right)
