When STOP playing music, Sub-Menu shows as following.

Local Folder Select a folder to store recording file(s).

REC Type Select a type of recording file(s).

TIPS: If the player has enough power, this function can make

recording file as much as memory capacity can store, until

displaying ‘Memory full’. Each folder can save up to 99 voice

recording files, until displaying ‘Folder full’.

2.2.3 Synchronous Lyric Display

The player supports lyric files with *.LRC suffix. If you have a

lyric file matching the music file that you have, and make sure

both have the same file name, then you can use this function.

For example, you have ‘Love.mp3’ and ‘Love.lrc’, then put them

into the player. If lyric matched, you can see a 'LYRIC' icon

displayed on corner of screen.

When lyric is available, press and hold <Menu> when playing

music to display lyric synchronously. In this mode, you can

press and hold <Menu> again to go back to Main-Menu.

2.3 Record Mode

In Main-Menu, press <Menu> when selecting [Record] mode.

This chapter shows how to operate the 9 different modes of the

MP4 player. It’s supposed that your player is in POWER ON status.

2.1 Movie Mode

In Main-Menu, press <Menu> when selecting [Movie] mode.

TIPS:

Keys' function definition may be different according to various

models and functions.

1.6 Basic Operations

Access to Mode or Sub-Menus: in Main-Menu or Mode surface,

press <Menu> to access a selected Sub-Menu.

Access to Main-Menu: in Sub-Menu surface, press and hold

<Menu> to access Main-Menu.

Play media file(s): in media file list surface, press <Play> to play

media file(s).

Turn On / Off: press and hold <Play> to turn on and off.

TIPS:

When you TURN ON the player, it will show the menu status as you

turn off last time, but when you SWITCH ON the player, it will show

the Main-Menu only.

Switch POWER to OFF when you will not use the player for long

time to save power.

z Do not store the digital MP4 player in hot or sunlight areas. High

temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices, damage

batteries and warp or melt certain plastics.

z Do not use or store the digital MP4 player in dusty, dirty areas, as

its moving parts may be damaged.

z Do not drop, knock, collide, or shake the digital MP4 player.

Rough handling can break internal circuit boards.

z Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or strong

detergents to clean the digital MP4 player. Wipe it with a soft

cloth slightly dampened in a mild soap-and-water solution.

z Operating this product in the vicinity of other electronic

equipment may adversely affect the performance of both

devices. In particular, operating close to a radio or television may

lead to interference. If interference occurs, please move the

digital MP4 player away or put it into separate electrical outlets,

or reorient the TV or radio antenna.

1.4 Player Overview

Digital MP4 player is a simple portable multi-media player

supporting music playing, animation (movie) playing, photo playing,

text playing, FM radio playing and recording, voice recording, and

sound line-in recording. It can also be a data storage disk with

partition division and encryption with built-in flash memory.

z Music format supports *.mp1, *.mp2, *.mp3, *.wma, and *.wav.

You can also display lyric with *.lrc when playing music file

synchronously.

z Animation format supports *.amv file only which is converted by

the tool in the driver CD from other movie sources such as

MPEG files, RealMedia files and QuickTime files.

z Photo format supports *.bmp, *.jpg and *.gif (single and multi

frame). It can play photo slide show with customized interval.

z Text format supports *.lrc and *.txt. It can roll pages automatically

with customized interval.

z Fm radio frequency supports 87.5MHz~108MHz. It can

automatic search channel and save 20 preset channels. It can

also record FM radio as *.wav file.

z Voice recording function supports voice recording with built-in

microphone as *.wav file.

z Sound line-in recording function supports line-in recording with

audio outputs from other devices as *.wav file.

1.5 Keys and Function Definition

The following table shows the general function of the major keys or

1.1 Preface

This is a universal manual book compatible with digital MP4 players

which are using ATJ7515 CPU. Keys layout and functions definition

may be different from various models, therefore, operation must be

subjected to actual model. This manual book is for general

reference only.

To make the best use of this product’s functions, read this manual

thoroughly before use. Please keep this manual handy for ease of

reference.

1.3 Precautions

z When driving a car, driving is your first

responsibility.

z Do not use the earphone when go

crossing the street.

z Do not use the earphone for a long

time for audition protection. If you found a drumming in the ears,

please stop using it.

z Extreme temperatures (out of the range of -5 degrees to 40

degrees) will affect the using of your MP4 player. Please cool or

warm the digital MP4 player in such condition before use.

z Keep the digital MP4 player dry and do not use the digital MP4

player with a wet hand, or it may cause an electric shock to you

or damage to the digital MP4 player.

z Humidity, liquids and minerals may corrode electronic circuits.

CHAPTER 5 -- TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

5.1 Battery

This MP3/4 uses rechargeable Li-ion battery. It must use specified

charger only. Please dispose it properly, because it will explode

when damaged or be in fire.

Please switch off power when not using the player for long time.

5.1.1 Charging the Battery

The icon

shows the battery is full. But as time goes on, this

capacity indicator will go down. When indicator shows blank, battery

almost run out and the player will poer off automatically. You should

charge the battery with the specified USB cable. When connected

to PC or the specified charger, it will charge automatically.

TIPS: Please switch the player power ON before charge.

Take out the charger from the electricity plug panel while not

charging or charging for more than 3 hours.

Before using this application, please confirm that only one MP4

player is connected PC normally. When the program runs, it will

show a dialog box with 2 property pages: ‘Format’ and ‘Allocate and

Encrypt’.

‘Format’ shows the list of removable disks by logical drive. You can

select a logical drive to format from the list by selecting ‘Quick’,

‘Complete’ or ‘Physical’ type.

If the check box ‘Make

bootable disk’ has been

checked, the current

logical disk will be

formatted to be an USB

bootable disk. But if the

disk is an encrypted

partition, bootable

function will be

unavailable.

Click 'Allocation and Encrypt' page and use the repartition and

encryption function.

'Total Physical Capacity' shows the actual capacity of the removable

disk. ‘Encrypted disk capacity’ shows the capacity of the encrypted

logical disk. If encrypted disk capacity is zero, there will be only one

partition that is normal

partition. By adjusting

the capacity of

encrypted disk, it will be

repartitioned.

CHAPTER 4 -- DATA STORAGE

All types of files can be stored in the flash memory of the MP4

player as a standard USB Memory Disk, supported by Windows98

(driver needed), Windows 2000 or above (Plug & Play), Mac OS

10.3, Red hat Linux 8.0 or above.

4.1 Media Files Storage

Media files mentioned below can be played by the player in some

certain mode. Other file types will not be displayed in player’s list.

4.2 Connecting to PC

When connected to PC, the player displays a connection interface

with data transfer indication ‘<<‘ and ‘>>‘ shows the downloading or

uploading direction.

PC will found new disk when USB connected, according ‘Online

Mode’ set in the players System settings.

TIPS: The player supports USB power supply and work without

To use MP4 player when connected to PC, press and hold <MENU>

to enter Main-Menu then the player can work.

4.3 Repartitioned and Encrypting

To divide and encrypt the flash memory, please run MP3/4 Player

Disk Tool from Driver CD (for Windows 98 to Windows XP only),

then you can use these functions from which:

Upgrade Tool from Driver CD (for Windows 98 to Windows XP

Before using this application, please confirm that only one

MP3/4 Player is connected PC normally. When the program

runs, it will show the detail of the existing and new firmware,

when you select a firmware file (*.bin or *.fw) which can be

downloaded from the official website.

Click ‘Start Upgrade’, the

upgrade will be on process.

After one minute, process will

finish and the player will

restart, this shows the

firmware upgrade process

succeeded.

TIPS: Firmware upgrade is to

improve player’s performance

or recover the damaged

internal firmware. If it’s in

Normal status, it’s suggested that not to upgrade the firmware.

Please make sure the new firmware software you selected must

be suitable for the MP3/4 model you are about to upgraded.

Firmware upgrade process CANNOT be reversed.

DO NOT disconnect MP3/4 player during upgrading or

recovering process.

CHAPTER 3 -- MEDIA FORMAT CONVERTING

*.ACT and *.AMV is special format for this MP3/4 player. Please use

the tools from Driver CD (for Windows 98 to Windows XP only) to

convert between common format.

3.1 ACT Format Converting

Voice recording function and FM radio recording function can save

recording files to *.ACT by format selecting ‘Long REC’ type, which

is lower bit rate and smaller file size. This format can be converted

to common formats like *.WAV and *.MP3.

Please run ‘Audio Converter’ to play, or convert *.ACT format to

common formats.

3.2 AMV Format Converting

The player supports *.AMV format as video file. Other video formats

like MPEG (VOD / DAT), Windows Media (ASF / WMV), RealMedia

(RM / RMVB), QuickTime (MOV / QT), DIVX, XVID can be

converted to *.AMV format by running ’AMV Convert Tool’.

Please make sure that the decoders matching the formats you are

going to convert were already installed in your PC. Driver CD

provides some usual decoders like Windows Media Player,

DIRECTX9, FFDSHOW, StormCodec, QUICKTIME-ALT, REAL-ALT

etc.

If alert message ‘ERROR’ pop-up, it means the decoder for a

certain target video file was not yet installed properly.

After selected single or batch files, click '↗↙' to start converting.

When finishing converting, the AMV files will be played

automatically by AMV player.

For advanced converting settings please click '○' to show OPTION

dialog box. You can edit time and movie / sound quality there.

TIPS: You must select the correct video file resolution matching the

screen size for your player, otherwise player cannot play a AMV file

bigger then the screen size. Please check the side of the gift box

and Chapter 5.2 (Technical Specification) for choosing the correct

resolution.

At this time, if you don’t repartition, you can modify the password. If

old user name and password you input are correct, new ones which

you input will be set. If the old ones are incorrect, you have to

repartition it by adjust the capacity of the encrypted disk, you set

new username and password as well.

TIPS: Repartition a disk will damage all data on the disk.

The minimum capacity of a normal disk is 17 Mb.

If a disk is encrypted, you have to run executable file

‘RdiskDecrypt.exe’ and input username and password to access it.

In this way, you can protect your private data into the encrypted

partition by username and password. You should remember keep it

carefully.

When playing text file, Sub-Menu shows as following.

Select idle time for auto power off in seconds.

Select sleep time for auto power off when normally

operating. TIPS This setting is valid only once after

set, you have to set again for next use.

Online Mode

Select a mode of active disk when connected to

computer. TIPS See Chapter 4 for further

reference.

Display total memory capacity and percentage of

used space.

Display the player’s firmware’s version.

2.8.2 Firmware upgrade

To upgrade the firmware of the player, please run MP3/4 Player

mode.

z Ingresar a un modo o submenú:

Este reproductor digital MP4 es un dispositivo multimedia sencillo y

portátil capaz de reproducir música y videos, mostrar imágenes y

textos, así como sintonizar radioemisoras FM, grabar desde la radio

o la voz del usuario. Así mismo, cuenta con un juego y puede ser

empleado como un dispositivo de almacenamiento capaz de ser

particionado y encriptado.

z Soporta los formatos de audio *.mp1, *.mp2, *.mp3, *.wma, y

*.wav. Así también puede ver archivos de letras *.lrc que son

mostrados en sincronía con la música.

z Soporta los archivos de video *.amv, formato al que pueden ser

convertidos mediante el utilitario que se incluye con el CD de

instalación. También soporta los formatos MPEG, RealMedia y

QuickTime.

z Soporta los archivos de imagen *.bmp, *.jpg y *.gif (sencillos y

animados) y cuenta con la función de presentación de

diapositivas con un intervalo de actualización personalizable.

z Soporta los archivos de texto *.lrc y *.txt. El texto avanza a la

página siguiente de forma automático en un intervalo de tiempo

personalizable.

z La radio FM tiene una respuesta de frecuencia desde los

87.5MHz hasta los 108MHz y es capaz de sintonizar y

almacenar en la memoria las radioemisoras de manera

automática. Así mismo es capaz de grabar la se?al de radio en

formato *.wav.

z La función de grabación de voz graba los archivos en formato

*.wav a través del micrófono incorporado.

z La entrada de línea le permite grabar el sonido desde equipos

externos en formato *.wav.

Este es un manual de instrucciones genérico para reproductores

MP4 que usan procesadores ATJ7515. Los controles y sus

funciones pueden variar según el modelo del reproductor, por lo

tanto, las operaciones están sujetas al modelo que posea. El

contenido de este manual es sólo de referencia.

Para obtener el mayor provecho de este reproductor, lea

completamente el manual antes de usarlo y consérvelo para futuras

referencias.

CAPÍTULO 5 - ESPECIFICACIONES TÉCNICAS

BATERÍA

Este reproductor utiliza una batería recargable de Li-ion. Debe usar

sólo el cargador recomendado.

Deseche la batería de forma correcta, ya que podría explotar al

dañarse o ser expuesta al fuego.

Apague el reproductor cuando no lo use por mucho tiempo.

CARGAR LA BATERÍA

El icono

se mostrará cuando la batería esté llena. Cuando el

icono se muestre vacío, es porque la batería está por agotarse y el

reproductor se apagará automáticamente al cabo de un instante.

Para cargar la batería utilice el cable USB de 5 pines que se

especifica.

La batería será cargada automáticamente cuando conecte el

reproductor a la computadora.

NOTA: Encienda el reproductor antes de cargarlo.

Desenchufe el cargador del tomacorriente cuando no lo esté

usando o cuando haya cargado la batería por más de 3 horas.

ejecute el programa “MP3/4 Player Disk Tool” que se encuentra en

el CD de instalación (sólo para Windows 98 hasta Windows XP).

Podrá realizar las siguientes operaciones:

z Formater la memoria.

z Particionar la memoria.

z Establecer una contraseña para la partición privada.

Antes de utilizar este programa, asegúrese de que el reproductor

esté conectado a la computadora. Una vez que el programa se

haya iniciado, aparecerá una pantalla con 2 páginas “Format” y

“Allocate and Encrypt”.

FORMAT muestra la lista de los discos disponibles en la unidad

lógica.

Puede elegir una unidad

para formatearla eligiendo

de la lista la opción “Quick”,

“Complete” o “Physical”. Si

marca la casilla de

selección “Make bootable

disk”, la unidad será

formateada como un disco

de arranque, pero no así si

elige la partición encriptada.

Haga clic en “Allocation and Encrypt” para utilizar las funciones de

particionamiento y encriptación.

“Total Physical Capacity”

muestra la capacidad actual

del disco removible y

“Encrypted disk capacity”

muestra la capacidad del

disco encriptado.Si el disco

encriptado tiene como

capacidad “0” es porque hay

sólo una partición normal.

Ajuste la capacidad del

disc

o para reparticionarlo.

Si a la unidad encriptada se le ha asignado una contraseña, la

casilla de verificación “Set username and password” aparecerá

marcada cuando se inicie el programa. En este momento puede

cambiar la contraseña si no reparticiona el disco. Si la contraseña y

el nombre de usuario son incorrectos, nadie podrá cambiarlas. Si

CONEXIÓN A LA COMPUTADORA

Cuando conecta el reproductor a la computadora, este muestra la

interface de conexión con el indicador de transferencia de archivos.

Los iconos “<<” y “>>” indican si se está descargando o subiendo

archivos.

En la computadora aparecerá el dispositivo USB como una

nueva unidad de disco, según la configuración del “Online Mode”.

NOTA:

Este reproductor soporta la función de alimentación mediante el

cable USB por lo que no consume las baterías mientras está

conectado a la computadora.

Para utilizar el reproductor mientras está conectado a la

computadora, mantenga presionado el botón MENU para ingresar

al menú principal.

PARTICIONAMIENTO Y ENCRIPTACIÓN

Para dividir la memoria flash en una partición pública y otra privada,

no recuerda la contraseña, deberá reparticionar el disco ajustando

la capacidad del mismo y podrá establecer una nueva contraseña y

nombre de usuario.

NOTA:

z Toda la información se perderá al reparticionar el disco.

z La capacidad mínima para el disco es de 17Mb.

z El cuadro de diálogo “Removable Disk” podría aparecer mientras

se ejecuta el formateo o reparticionamiento para indicarle que el

dispositivo ha sido desconectado. Bajo algunos sistemas

operativos será necesario que reinicie la computadora,

posteriormente podrá ver las dos unidades de disco en la

computadora.

z Si ha encriptado un disco, deberá ejecutar el archivo

“RdiskDecrypt.exe” para ingresar su nombre de usuario y

contraseña.

z De esta manera podrá proteger su información privada mediante

el nombre de usuario y la contraseña. No olvide su contraseña.

ACTUALIZACIÓN DEL FIRMWAR

To upgrade the Para actualizar el Firmware del reproductor, ejecute

el programa “MP3/4 Player Upgrade Tool” desde el CD de

instalación (sólo para Windows 98 a Windows XP).

Antes de usar esta aplicación,

asegúrese de que no haya más de

Al cabo de un minuto el proceso concluirá y el reproductor se

reiniciará, lo que indica que la actualización se ha realizado con

éxito.

NOTAS:

z La actualización del Firmware le permite optimizar el rendimiento

del reproductor o recuperar el programa en caso de que se haya

da?ado. No es recomendable actualizar el Firmware si este está

funcionando normalmente.

z Asegúrese de que el Firmware que elija para la actualización

sea compatible con este reproductor. El procese de

actualización del Firmware no puede revertirse.

z No desconecte el reproductor durante la actualización o

recuperación del Firmware.

CAPÍTULO 3 - CONVERSIÓN DE ARCHIVOS

Los archivos *.ACT Y *.AMV son formatos especiales de este

reproductor. Utilice los utilitarios que se incluyen en el CD de

instalación (sólo para Windows 98 hasta Windows XP) para

convertir los archivos.

CONVERSIÓN DE ARCHIVOS ACT

Elija la opción “Long REC” para grabar los archivos de voz y la

señal de la radio FM en formato *.ACT, que son archivos pequeños

y con poco flujo binario. Puede convertir estos archivos a *.WAV o

*.MP3.

Ejecute el programa “Audio Converter” para reproducir o convertir

archivos *.ACT en otros formatos.

CONVERSIÓN DE ARCHIVOS AMV

Este reproductor usa el formato *.AMV para archivos de video.

Puede convertir estos archivos a formatos MPEG (VOD / DAT),

Windows Media (ASF / WMV), RealMedia (RM / RMVB), QuickTime

(MOV / QT), DIVX o XVID mediante el utilitario “AMV ConvertTool”.

Asegúrese de que el decodificador para el formato que al que

desee convertir los archivos se encuentre instalado en su

computadora. El CD de instalación incluye algunos decodificadores

comunes como ser Windows Media Player, DIRECTX9,

FFDSHOW, StormCodec, QUICKTIME-ALT, REAL-ALT, etc.

Si se despliega un mensaje de ERROR, significa que el

decodificador de destino no está correctamente instalado.

Una vez elegido uno o más archivos, haga clic en el botón'↗↙

para iniciar la conversión. Una vez concluido el proceso, los

archivos comenzarán a ser reproducidos automáticamente.

Para acceder a las opciones avanzadas de conversión, presione el

botón '○'

NOTA:

Debe elegir la resolución de video correcta para que encaje a la

dimensión de la pantalla del reproductor, caso contrario, el archivo

no será reproducido. Para ver las dimensiones de su pantalla, vea

la parte posterior de la caja o refiérase al capítulo "Especificaciones

técnicas".

INFORMACIÓN DE CUMPLIMIENTO

Este equipo ha sido probado y cumple con los parámetros

establecidos para los dispositivos digitales Clase B, descritos en el

z De acuerdo a las normas FCC 12.27, debe emplearse cables

blindados y conexión a tierra para conectar este equipo a la

computadora.

z Para filtrar la interferencia RF debe usarse un adaptador AC con

núcleo de ferrita.

pueden ser reproducidos.
