Operating instructions
When the Bed/Chair Exit Monitor has a low
battery, the status LED will ash red rapidly.
To replace the battery turn the monitor over
and remove the battery cover.

g 1: PCB socket

Fold the black & red battery lead under the PCB (g 3) and slot the
battery into the monitor. (g 4)
Put the battery cover back on ensuring the battery cover tab is the same
side as the corner screw of the monitor. (g 5)
Plug the new battery into the PCB socket,
ensuring the at side of the white battery
connector is facing upwards. (g 2)
Pull the battery out and unplug the white
battery connector, at the end of the black &
red ying lead, from the PCB socket (g 1).

Set the dip switches as below:
No delay 5 min 10 min
Plug the Bed/Chair Exit Monitor into the socket
on the front of the nurse call point in the room.
Plug your pear push call lead into the
socket on the side of the Bed/Chair Exit
Monitor, by the ON/OFF switch.
Plug your pressure mat into the socket on the
bottom of the Bed/Chair Exit Monitor.
Place the pressure mat on top of the mattress
or chair cushion you are monitoring.
When the person is in the bed/chair,
switch the Bed/Chair Exit Monitor ON to
arm the monitoring function.
The status LED will ash red:
Once = no delay
Twice = 10 seconds
Three times = 5 minute delay
Four times = 10 minute delay
Note: the pear push call lead will work even when the
Bed/Chair Exit
Monitor
is switched off.
If you pull the pear push call lead out of the
Bed/Chair Exit Monitor
you will trigger a ‘Lead Removed’ alarm.
To set the time delay turn the monitor over
and open the battery cover to reveal the dip
switches.
When the person exits the bed/chair or does not return to their bed/
chair within the pre-set time, the monitor will go into alarm. The status
LED will start blinking red and the nurse call point will be activated,
sending an alarm to your nurse call system.
Put the battery cover back on ensuring the battery
cover tab is the same side as the corner screw of
the monitor.
There are two ways to cancel an alarm:

The ARM Bed/Chair Exit Monitor is intended to be used to assist in
monitoring when a person exits their bed/chair or does not return to
their bed/chair within the pre-set time.

Note: press the reset button on the front of the
nurse call point to reset the ‘Lead Removed’
alarm.
Note: the manufacturer cannot guarantee that the monitor will
detect all bed/chair exit episodes. It may also trigger a false exit alert.
1. When the person gets back into bed/chair, the status LED on the
Bed/Chair Exit Monitor will stop blinking and you can then press the
reset button on the nurse call point.
2. Turn the Bed/Chair Exit Monitor OFF, and then you can press the reset
button on the nurse call point.
