Safety Instructions
The purpose of safety symbols is to aract your aenon to possible dangers. The safety
symbols and the explanaons with them deserve your careful aenon and understanding.
The symbol warnings do not, by themselves, eliminate any danger. The instrucons and
warnings they give are no substutes for proper accident prevenon measures.
WARNING! Be sure to read and understand all safety instrucons in this manual,
including all safety alert symbols such as “DANGER,” ”WARNING,” and “CAUTION”
before using this tool. Failure to following all instrucons listed below may result
in electric shock, re, and/or serious personal injury.

WARNING! Read all safety warnings and instrucons!
Failure to follow the warnings and instrucons may result in electric shock, re and/or serious
injury. Save all warnings and instrucons for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or
baery-operated (cordless) power tool.
WARNING! Risk of re and electric shock. Dry locaon use only. Do not expose
to rain. Risk of injury.
Work area safety
1. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluered or dark areas invite accidents.
2. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of amma-
ble liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks that may ignite the dust or fumes.
3. Keep children and bystanders away while operang a power tool. Distracons can cause
you to lose control.
Electrical safety
1. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way.
Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodied plugs and
matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
2. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges
and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or
grounded.
3. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet condions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock.
4. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power
tool. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entan-
gled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
5. When operang a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use.
Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
6. If operang a power tool in a damp locaon is unavoidable, use a ground fault circuit
interrupter (GFCI) protected supply. Use of a GFCI reduces the risk of electric shock.

Personal safety
1. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operang a power tool.
Do not use the tool while red or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol, or medicaon. A
moment of inaenon while operang power tools may result in serious personal injury.
2. Use personal protecve equipment.
Always wear eye protecon. Protecve equipment, such as a dust mask, non-skid safety
shoes, hard hat, or hearing protecon, used for appropriate condions, will reduce per-
sonal injuries.
3. Prevent unintenonal starng. Ensure that the switch is in the o-posion before connect-
ing to power source and/or baery pack, picking up, or carrying the tool.
Carrying power tools with your nger on the switch or energizing power tools that have
the switch on invites accidents.
4. Remove any adjusng key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key
le aached to a rotang part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
5. Do not overreach. Keep proper foong and balance at all mes. This enables beer control
of the power tool in unexpected situaons.
6. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves
away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
7. If devices are provided for the connecon of dust extracon and collecon facilies,
ensure that these are connected and properly used. Use of these devices can reduce
dust-related hazards.
Use and care of the power tools
1. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your applicaon. The correct
power tool will do the job beer and more safely at the rate for which it was designed.
2. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and o. Any power tool that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
3. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the baery pack from the power tool
before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such pre-
venve safety measures reduce the risk of starng the power tool accidentally.
4. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar
with the power tool or these instrucons to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
5. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of
parts and any other condion that may aect the power tool’s operaon.
If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poor-

ly maintained power tools.
6. Keep cung tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cung tools with sharp cung edges are less likely to bind and are
easier to control.
7. Use the power tool, accessories, tool bits etc., in accordance with these instrucons, tak-
ing into account the working condions and the work to be performed. Use of the power
tool for operaons dierent from those intended could result in a hazardous situaon.
Baery tool use and care
1. Recharge only with the charger specied by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable
for one type of baery pack may create a risk of re when used with another baery pack.
2. Use power tools only with specically designated baery packs. Use of any other baery
packs may create a risk of injury and re.
3. When the baery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, such as paper
clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that can make a connecon
from one terminal to another. Shorng the baery terminals together may cause burns or
a re.
4. Under abusive condions, liquid may be ejected from the baery; avoid contact.
If contact accidentally occurs, ush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, also seek medical
help. Liquid ejected from the baery may cause irritaon or burns.
Service
1. Have your power tool serviced by a qualied repair person, using only idencal replace-
ment parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Specic safety rules for cordless drill/driver
1. Use only with the baeries and chargers specied by the manufacturer.
2. Hold power tools by the insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operaon where
the cung tool may contact hidden wiring. Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed
metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the operator.
3. When working with the power tool, always hold it rmly with both hands and provide for
a secure stance. The power tool is guided more securely with both hands.
4. Keep the cord and charger from heat to prevent damage to the housing or internal parts.
5. Secure the workpiece. Clamping devices or a vise will hold the workpiece in place beer
than the hand.

6. Do not allow gasoline, oils, petroleum based products, etc. to come in contact with plasc
parts. These materials contain chemicals that can damage, weaken, or destroy plasc.
7. Always wait unl the machine has come to a complete stop before placing it down. The
tool insert can jam and lead to loss of control over the power tool.
8. Always set the direcon-of-rotaon switch to the center (locked) posion before per-
forming any kind of work on the machine (e.g., maintenance, tool change, etc.) and when
transporng and storing it.
Unintenonal acvaon of the On/O switch may result in personal injury.
9. Do not open the baery. There is risk of a short circuit.
10. Protect the baery from heat and re. There is risk of explosion.
11. Wear ear protectors when using the cordless drill/driver. Exposure to noise can cause
hearing loss.
12. Use protecve gloves when removing the bit from the tool, or rst allow the clamp to cool
down. The bit may be hot aer prolonged use.
13. Use protecve gloves when operang the tool. Protecve gloves can help to keep you
from being burnt and hurt.
14. Keep your hands away from the motor housing vents. Hot gas comes from the vents
during operaon.
15. Release the trigger immediately when a screw is ghtened to avoid breaking the screw.
16. For best results, your baery tool should be charged in a locaon where the temperature
is more than 41°F (5°C) but less than 122°F (50°C). Do not store outside or in vehicles.
DANGER! People with electronic devices, such as pacemakers, should consult
their physician(s) before using this product. Operaon of electrical equipment in
close proximity to a heart pacemaker could cause interference or failure of the
pacemaker.
WARNING! Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and
other construcon acvies contain chemicals known to the state of California to
cause cancer, birth defects or other reproducve harm. Some examples of these
chemicals are:
• Lead from lead-based paints
• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products, and
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how oen you do this type of work. To re-
duce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well-venlated area, and work with approved
safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially designed to lter out microscopic
parcles.
