EUROSTER T6RX - USER MANUAL 1
EUROSTER T6RX CONTROLLER
Manual version: 01.08.2016
MANUFACTURER: P.H.P.U. AS, Chumiętki 4, 63-840 Krobia, Poland
1. FIELD OF APPLICATION
The EUROSTER T6RX controller task is to control a floor central heating (CH) system.
Additionally to turning ON/OFF actuators mounted on mixing valves of the floor system,
the controller may also turn the CH boiler and circulation pump OFF if all heating loops are
OFF.
The controller may cooperate with wireless EUROSTER room thermostats.
Both normally closed (NC) or normally open (NO) two-state valve actuators switched by
230 VAC signals may be used in CH loops.
If a room is heated by several CH loops, we recommend to use a single suitably programmed
controller.
The controller may supply an output signal to turn the CH circulation pump ON/OFF, an output
signal to turn the CH boiler ON/OFF, as well as 6 output signals to control actuators in up to 6
CH loops. Should control of more CH channels be needed, any number of T6RX controllers may
be daisy-chained.
The T6RX controller does not control CH water temperature. To that purpose we recommend
the EUROSTER 11M controller.

2. FUNCTIONALITY
Capability to control:
up to six CH loops
circulation pump
boiler (voltage-free relay contacts)
Output test function
The AntyStop function
Power saving function
DIN rail assembly (also inside of an electrical cabinet)
The EUROSTER T6RX controller is equipped with the ANTY STOP function that prevents idle
pump rotors and valves against seizing. Once the heating season is over, the function will

automatically engage the pumps and the valves every 14 days for 30 seconds. To that end the
controller must be left powered up.
3. INSTALLATION
GENERAL SAFETY RULES
It is necessary to read this user manual carefully prior to the commencement
of the installation works. Incorrect installation and improper use may lead
to a serious hazard to a user or other persons and result in material damage!
Prior to mounting or dismantling and maintenance of the controller, make sure
that it is de-energized!
Dangerous voltages, hazardous to life, may be present on the controller and
its cables, therefore only qualified technicians holding authorization for
electrical works may be entrusted with the installation of the controller!
Do not install the controller in rooms of increased humidity, substantial
dustiness or with presence of caustic or flammable vapors, protect
it against water and other liquids!
Do not install any controller showing signs of mechanical damage.
The controller is not a safety component of the heating system in the systems
with a risk of damage. In the case of failure of control systems, use additional
protective equipment.
Do not misuse the controller!
The device is not intended for use by children!
Failure to meet the safety rules results in loss of warranty!
3.1. Selection of room thermostats
The T6RX controller may cooperate with any EUROSTER model of a wireless room thermostat.
Make sure that each purchased thermostat has an unique ID number. Thermostat ID is
an integer from the 1…250 range, you may find it at a sticker pasted to back of thermostat
housing.
3.2. Connections
T6RX controller connection diagram
EUROSTER T6RX - USER MANUAL 3
3.2.1 Power supply
Each T6RX controller is equipped with an internally bridged pair of power supply terminal sets.
You may use another set of terminals in the pair to distribute the power to a next controller
in a chain.
While hooking up power supply cable pay particular attention to correctly
connect the grounding wire.
3.2.2 Actuators
Make sure whether the to-be-connected actuator is of the normally closed type or else
of the normally open type and hook it up to the COM and NC or NO terminals, respectively.
3.2.3 Pump
While hooking up power supply cable pay particular attention to correctly connect
the grounding wire.
3.2.4 Antenna
The controller is equipped with an active external antenna. Location of the
antenna may significantly influence quality of the received radio signals: it
should be situated as close to the room thermostats as possible. It should not
be positioned in parallel to any large metal elements in the vicinity.
Generally it is not advisable to place the antenna inside a metal cabinet since
such cabinets strongly attenuate radio signals. However, such attenuation may
sometimes be advantageous. For example, if some other wireless device
operated at a frequency close to 433 MHz (such as a wireless baby monitor,
a radiotelephone) interferes with operation of your wireless controller, you can
reduce interferences by placing the antenna inside a metal cabinet. Even
reduced useful range of radio-communication with wireless thermostats may
turn out to be quite sufficient in many situations.
Location and (horizontal or vertical) orientation of the antenna should be
optimized experimentally.

3.2.5 The AUX output terminals
The AUX output terminals may be connected to a suitable input of the CH boiler controller.
Terminals are internally connected with voltage-free contacts of the AUX output relay. The
COM common contact is shorted with the NC contact if heating is OFF or with the NO contact
if heating is ON.
3.2.6 Co-operation of several controllers
If a single CH pump and boiler are supplying more than six CH loops, several T6RX controllers
may be daisy-chained. To that purpose, each T6RX controller is equipped with an internally
bridged pair of power supply terminal sets. You may use another set of terminals in the pair
to feed the power to a downstream controller in the chain. To daisy-chain signals, connect
pump output relay of the first controller to the dedicated PUMP IN input of next controller
in the chain. Use output of the last controller in the chain to actually feed the pump controller.

3.3. Wiring test
As soon as the controller is powered up, the Anty-Stop function is executed: all actuators and
the CH pump are sequentially turned ON. Alternatively you may manually activate each output
relay. To that end:
press momentarily the front panel pushbutton and repeat that action until LED diode
representing the relay in question starts to blink
press and hold the pushbutton until the LED diode stops blinking and is continually ON
(signal that the relay is activated)
once more press the pushbutton until the LED diode resumes blinking (the relay de-
activated).
All green LED diodes are blinking if the antenna is not hooked up or is hooked up incorrectly.
The controller is automatically reset as soon as the antenna is correctly hooked up.
3.4. Programming
Once wiring and antenna are tested, proceed to associate individual thermostats
with individual radio-communication channels. Any number of channels may be associated
with a thermostat, but each communication channel may receive signals from only a single
thermostat.
Thermostat ID is an integer from the 1…250 range, you may find it at a sticker pasted to back
of thermostat housing.
Six PROG micro-switches inside the controller are used to program the communication. The
given channel programming mode is activated as soon as its switch slider is moved to the
ON position.
Example:
Programming procedure:
1. Remove battery from each the to-be-programmed thermostat.
2. Move the PROG micro-switch of the selected channel to the ON position (channel’s
green LED diode goes ON).
3. Put a battery to the thermostat that is to be associated with the selected channel.
4. Press the T6RX controller front panel pushbutton. Green and red LED diodes start
to blink, after maximum 3 seconds the green diode should go continually ON. A short
flash of the controller power diode confirms that the association has been successfully
saved in the controller memory.
5. Move the PROG micro-switch to its idle position. Green LED diodes of all the so-far
correctly programmed channels should blink for about 1 minute, then should emit one
flash every minute.
6. Repeat steps 2-5 for each channel waiting to-be-programmed.
7. Once all channels are programmed make sure that all PROG micro-switches are reliably
latched in their idle positions.
EUROSTER T6RX - USER MANUAL 6
3.5. Deleting a channel
Should a need arise to delete a channel, proceed as follows:
Move the PROG micro-switch of the selected channel to the ON position (channel’s
green LED diode goes ON).
Press and hold the front panel pushbutton until channel’s red diode goes ON.
Move the PROG micro-switch to its idle position.
To re-activate a deleted channel you must re-program it.
3.6. Switching between operation modes
In order to switch the device from heating to air-conditioning mode and back, proceed as
follows:
Press and hold the button for approximately 5 seconds
All diodes of one color will be switched on: red color indicates heating mode, the green
one indicates air-conditioning
Pressing the button for a short time (without holding it) allows user to switch over
the mode — green or red diodes are being switched on
Wait for 5 seconds the new mode will be stored and the module will reset itself
and restore operation
In air-conditioning mode the operation of thermostats is reverse, i.e. switching the thermostat
off (high temperature in a room) opens the valve and switches the pump on. The boiler
remains switched off permanently.
4. OPERATION
As soon as the controller is powered up, all red/yellow LED diodes and green diodes for the
programmed channels go ON. Next, all diodes go OFF and all output relays are de-activated.
The Anty-Stop function is executed: all actuators in the programmed channels are sequentially
turned ON. Approximately 1 minute after the first actuator the CH pump is also turned ON.
Green LED diodes are blinking while the Anty-Stop function is executed. At any moment you
may push the button to interrupt the Anty-Stop procedure.
During normal operation the controller reacts to the “Engage/Disengage heating loop” message
received from a thermostat by turning ON/OFF (respectively) valve actuator in CH loop of the
room in which temperature is controlled by the thermostat.
The pump ON signal is active when at least one actuator is turned ON.
4.1 Energy saving
The T6RX controller was designed with the idea to keep electrical energy consumption as low
as possible. To that end all LED diodes are dimmed after some specified time of user inactivity.
Full brightness is restored as soon as the controller front panel button is pushed
or the programming mode is activated.
4.2 Protection against loss of communication with thermostat
Communication with a thermostat may be lost because its battery has discharged, in case
of some radio frequency interferences, or because the thermostat has been moved too far
away from the T6RX controller antenna.
7 minutes after the time the last signal from a thermostat was received the controller turns the
respective actuator ON for 20 minutes and repeats that action every 3 hours to prevent
excessive cool-down of the room in question. Lack of communication in a channel is signalled
by fast-pace blinking of the channel green LED diode.

5. TROUBLESHOOTING
Symptom Possible cause/recommended action
Fast-pace blinking of
one or more green
LED diodes
No communication with some thermostats. Antenna is situated in
a wrong place, thermostats are too far away, discharged thermostat
batteries. Replace batteries before every heating season, do not use
rechargeable batteries.
Fast-pace blinking of
all green LED diodes
No antenna, poor contact of the antenna cable connector, cable
failure.
The controller keeps
resetting
Antenna cable damaged, poor contact of the cable connector, power
wiring failure.
No LED diode is ON No power supply, blown fuse.
One of the channels
does not operate or
operates intermittently
The channel is not programmed or is programmed with an incorrect
ID. Check if its green LED diode flashes approximately once per
minute. It also may happen that there are two thermostats with
identical IDs within the antenna reach, so the controller reacts
to a mix of broadcasted messages. If this is the case contact your
distributor or our technical service to change the thermostat to
another one with a different ID.
