carefully. Keep the user manual safe for future reference.
Thank you for choosing our Dosing System VIDA-GT. This device is
based on high technology and standards of ARKA Biotechnologie
GmbH and offers you the easiest way to take care of your aquarium.
To avoid damage and to ensure trouble-free operation, please read
carefully the instructions before commissioning.
Every device is tested carefully before delivery. If there is a problem
that can’t be solved with the help of this user manual you have the
following options:
- Contact your local dealer.
- Email us at: support@dosingcomputer.com
- Do not make any repair on your own, this will cause the loss of
warranty.
- The appliance has to be used for its original purpose only. Any
other type of use and operation beyond the limits of technical
specifications is considered as not intended.
- Do not open the device, this will cause the loss of warranty.
Instructions:
- You can buy additional accessories from your local dealer for
ARKA products.
- All from ARKA supplied accessories ensure an optimal
combination with the Dosing System VIDA-GT.
- Other accessories which are not provided from ARKA may not
be compatible with the system.

Risk of electric shock!
- Connect and operate the appliance only in accordance with the
specifications on the rating label situated on the base of the
machine.
- Do not use your VIDA-GT if either the power cord or appliance
is damaged.
- Do not use the appliance below 0°C and above 50°C.
- Do not allow the appliance to be used by children or persons
with impaired mental, physical or sensory faculties or
insufficient experience and/or skills, unless they are under the
careful supervision and guidance of a person responsible for
their safety. Children must be kept under supervision to prevent
them from playing with the appliance.
- Keep children away from the appliance.
- The packaging elements must not be left within reach of
children as they are potential sources of danger.
- In the event of malfunction, unplug the appliance immediately.
- To avoid potential hazards, repairs such as replacing a
damaged cord should only be performed by our service
personnel.
- Do not plunge the appliance or the power cord into water.
- Use appliance only for its intended dosing of liquids and
suspensions.
- The manufacturer is not liable for damages caused by improper
use.
- Avoid environmental factors such as smoke, dust, vibration,
chemicals, humidity, heat or direct sunlight.
- The black silicone hose must be delivered only from ARKA
Strong magnetic field! Please keep magnetic card,
pacemaker and heart defibrillator, mechanical watch, hearing
aid, vehicle key, USB stick, memory cards, digital camera, cell
phone, CD, DVD, Hard drive etc. away from ARKA device!

1. Remove the device from the box and check whether the device
is damaged while transportation. In case of damage please contact
your dealer and do not install the device.
2. Check the content of the box (See Scope of delivery).
3. Place the device in the place where it will work permanently (this
is important in order to be provided the length of the hose from
device to aquarium). If the device will be mounted on the wall use
Annex 1 - Stencil for wall fix (See Scope of delivery). The ARKA
device have to be placed at the level of the upper edge of the
aquarium or a maximum distance of 80 cm below it. The bottom of
the bottles/canister with liquid should be above the ARKA device or at
a maximum distance of 40 cm below it (Figure 1). Do not place device
above the edge of the tank if the device is with disabled function Back
Flushing.
Note: We recommend ARKA device to work with function
Back Flushing On (function Back Flushing is on by default) to avoid
fluid leaking out from the bottle into the aquarium.

4. Mount single parts of hose holder (Figure 2) - connect parts A
with parts B (Picture 1) as shown in the picture below (Picture 2).

5. Connect the pumps with silicone hose - On the Figure 3 are shown
the input and output of each pump. Connect black silicone hose to the
hose connectors. Use black silicone hose from the box (See Scope of
delivery) to connect pump input and output. The input of the pump
(Figure 3) must enter into the bottle with liquid, the hose from the

pump outlet must enter in the aquarium. The hoses in aquarium must
be at a minimum distance of 2 cm from the surface of the water to
avoid reflow of the water (Figure 2, Picture 4).
Note: If you use light-sensitive liquids, the white pump hose has to be
replaced by a black hose.
To change the pump hose read Chapter Service/Pump hose
exchange we recommend replacement of the hoses every two
months.

7. Connect Master and Slave device - connect Master and Slave
device via Slave cable from the box (See Scope of delivery). Connect
Slave device first and then Master device to the electrical network. All
four blue LEDs on the upper side of the Slave device start to flash
while the devices establish a connection. Continue setting the channels
as described in Functional Description.
8. Place the bottles and magnet stir bars - place the bottle in the mold
as shown in the picture below (Picture 5). Place one magnet stir bar
from the box (See Scope of delivery) in each bottle. The bottles may
have a diameter between 63 mm and 71 mm. If you replace the bottles
do not forget to remove the magnet stir bar for further use.

Functional Description
When VIDA-GT device is switched on for the first time and after
factory reset it will display the following:

Under Startup Menu you must configure the basic settings of the
device and the channels on initial activation of the device. Figure 4
describe Startup menu. From this menu can exit only after the initial
setup of the device to avoid accidental dosing. By pressing the back
button you can return one step back (previous menu). The value that
was entered/selected before can be shown. If you return back to
display “WELCOME TO ARKA” the entered value will be deleted.

To configure the settings of the device follow these steps:
1.1. Set Language - you can set English, German or French.
The default language is English. Select the menu language with or
. and confirm selected language by pressing button . The
language also can be changed from menu Basic Settings / Set
Language.
1.2. Time Adjust you can set day and time of the device.
Use buttons or to choose day of the week. To confirm press
. . Use buttons or to adjust the time and press . Use
back button to return one position back. The date and time also
can be changed from menu Basic Settings / Time Adjust.
1.3. Set Tank Volume you can set tank volume. The value is
from 50 liters to 5000 liters and can be changed in 1 liter step. The
default value is 100 liters. Use buttons or to choose the value.
To move to the next digit use button . To return to the previous
digit use back button . Confirm with button . The Tank Volume
also can be changed from menu Settings / Set Tank Volume.
