1. General description.
The USB-TTL „INTU” interface enables local connection of the PC with the power supply unit of the PSBEN
or EN54 series. The interface is recognized by the operating system as a virtual COM port. The connection does
not require any additional equipment.

The picture below shows the connection between the USB-TTL interface, the power supply and the PC.

2. Installing the drivers.
For proper operation, the USB-TTL interface requires the correct drivers installed on the PC.
When connected to a free USB port on the computer, the interface will be automatically detected by the
operating system and the drivers will be installed.
If the drivers have not been previously installed, you must download the appropriate instructions and
complete the installation in accordance with the guidelines. All instructions and drivers are available on the chipset
manufacturer's website at:
http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Documents/InstallGuides.htm
Drivers to be installed can be downloaded at:
http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm
After installing the drivers, connect the USB-TTL into the USB port of your computer. An additional COM
port (e.g. COM5), configured with the interface and providing access to the PSU, will be displayed. The assigned
COM port can be checked in the Device Manager window (location: START > Control Panel > System > Hardware
> Device manager).

3. Configuring the connection in the PowerSecurity program.
The “PowerSecurity” program can be downloaded at:
http://www.pulsar.pl/pliki/PowerSecurity.exe
1. Run the PowerSecurity program.
2. Choose the Power Supplies > New Power Supply option from the menu bar. The “Configuration of
connection” window, that allows configuring the settings, will be displayed. Enter the same settings as in
the picture below.
The power supply units of the EN54 series allow higher transmission speeds - instead of 19.2k 8E1 it
can be set to 115.2k 8E1. The changed values apply to all settings.
