1. General description.
The USB-TTL ”INTU” interface enables local connection of a PC with a PSU of the PSBEN (Black Power)
series. The interface is recognised by the computer’s operating system as a virtual COM port. To make a
connection, no additional devices are required.
Fig. 1. The view of the USB-TTL interface.
The picture below shows a block diagram of the connection between the USB-TTL interface, a PSU of the
PSBEN series and a PC.

2. Drivers installation.
For proper operation, the USB-TTL interface requires installing appropriate drivers in the computer’s
operating system.
After plugging into a computer’s free USB port the interface will be automatically detected by the operating
system after which the drivers will be installed.
If the drivers haven’t been installed before, download the instructions and install them accordingly to the
given tips. All the instructions and drivers are available on the chipset’s producer’s website:
http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Documents/InstallGuides.htm
Drivers necessary for installation are to be downloaded from:
http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm
After installing the drivers into the system, plug the USB-TTL interface into the computer’s USB port. An
additional COM port will appear (e.g. COM5), linked to the interface through which an access to the PSU is
possible. The assigned COM port can be checked in the window of the Device Manager window (location: START
> Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager).

3. Connection configuration in the PowerSecurity program.
For further configuration, the PowerSecurity program is required. Download it from the following page:
http://www.pulsar.pl/pl/pliki/PowerSecurity.exe
The program is saved as an executable file therefore does not require installation in the system.
1) Run the PowerSecurity.exe program saved on the hard drive.
2)
From the menu bar choose: Power Supplies > New Power Supply. There will appear a window of
Connection Settings in which all settings are to be adjusted.
