Requirements:

Youmusthavethefollowing:

• PhillipsScrewdriver

• HexDriver(2sizes–4-40and6-32)

Firmware Requirements

• KP-32ClassicFirmwareversion2.4.0

• KP-32BootLoaderversion0.1.0

IMPORTANT Thekeypanelbootloadermustbedone

beforethermwareisupdated.And,the

rmwaremustbeupgradedbeforeyouinstall

theOKImoduleintothekeypanel.

OKI Installation – KP-32 Classic

Important: Verifyyouhaveupdatedthebootloader

ontheKP-32Classickeypanelbefore

addingtheOKImodule.(seeBootloader

Upgradeonback).

Toinstall the OKI board set for the KP-32 Classic

keypanel,dothefollowing:

1. PowerofftheKP-32Classickeypanel.

2. UsingaPhillipsscrewdriver,removethefour (4)

corner screwsfromthebackpanel.

Note: Steps3and4areonlynecessaryifyouhavean

RCoptioninstalled.

3. Usingahexnutdriver,removethe14 hex screws

fromthebackpanel.

4. Usingthesamescrewdriver,removetheeight (8)

pan head screwsfrombackpanel.

5. UsingaPhillipsscrewdriver,removethe13 at

head screwsfrom top,bottomandbackpanel.

6. CarefullyattachtheOKI board set J1 to the

KP-32 Classic main board J4,asshownbelow.

Important: TheOKIboardsetafxestothechassis

insteadofthemotherboard.Ensureall

connectorsareushtothechassisbefore

replacingthescrews.

7. Carefullyreplacetheback panelontheKP-32

Classic.

8. Usethetwo (2) pan head screws provided to

stabilize the OKI board to the chassis.

NOTE: Steps10and11areonlynecessaryifyouhave

anRCoptioninstalled.

9. Replacethe14 hex screws.

10. Replacetheeight (8) pan head screws.

11. Replacethe10 at head screws.

12. Replacethe four (4) corner pan head screwsthat

attachthebackpanel.

13. PowerontheKP 32 CLD.

NOTE: IfyouarenotusinganRCcard,usetheRC

covertocovertheRCplateholes.

Upgrade the KP-32 Boot Loader Version to

version V0.1.0

Important: Thisupgrademustbedonebefore

upgradingthermwareoftheKP-32unit.

Toupgrade the KP-32 Boot Loader,dothefollowing:

1. OnthebackpaneloftheKP-32keypanel,turnDIP

switch 8 On.

2. Power on theunit.

A message indicating “This panel needs a rmware

download” appears.

3. InAZedit,fromtheStatusmenu,selectSoftware

Versions.

The Software Versions popup menu appears.

4. FromtheSoftwareVersionspopupmenu,select

Keypanels.

The Keypanel Version Information window appears.

5. FromtheKeypanelVersionInformationwindow,nd

andselectthespecic KP-32.

NOTE:NoticetheVersioncolumnisthemessage

“NEEDSDOWNLOAD”appearsnexttothe

versionstringofthekeypanel.

6. Right-clickKP-32 versionyouwanttoupgrade.

A popup menu appears.

7. Fromthepopupmenu,selectDownload

Firmware....

The Firmware Download navigation window

appears.

8. Navigatetoandselectyourrmware le(i.e.,

KP32CLD.hex).

9. ClickOpen.

The Download Device Firmware window appears.

10. ClickBegin Download.

The Download begins and a popup message

appears.

11. ClickOK.

The KP-32 rmware download nishes.

NOTE:Thiscantakeupto30minutestocomplete.Use

theKeypanelVersionInformationwindowto

followtheprogressofthedownload(thenumber

andpercentageofchunkscompleted).Also,the

rmwareprogressionisdisplayedontheKP-32

displaywindowuntilthedownloadiscomplete.

12. OnthebackpaneloftheKP-32keypanel,turnDIP

switch 8 Off.

13. Power cycletheunit.

Important: Thekeypanelrmwaremustbeupdated

beforeyouinstalltheOKImoduleintothe

keypanel.
