When using electrical appliances, basic safety precauons should always be followed,

including the following:

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.

2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

3. To protect against re, electrical shock and personal injury, do not immerse this

appliance, including cord and plug, in water or other liquid.

4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

5. To disconnect, turn any control to “o,” then remove plug from wall outlet.

6. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool completely

before pung on or taking o parts, and before cleaning.

7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or aer the appliance

malfuncons or has been damaged in any manner. To avoid hazards, return

appliance to NESCO

Factory Service Department for examinaon, repair or

adjustment.

8. The use of accessory aachments not recommended by the manufacturer may

10. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

11. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electrical burner or in a heated oven.

12. Do not use appliance for other than intended use described in this manual.

13. Do not use metal scouring pads on the exterior surface of the appliance.

14. Scalding may occur if lid is lied during the boiling cycle or when the unit is hot.

15. Use the kele with only the base staon supplied.

16. Be sure the kele is properly located on the base staon before switching it ON.

17. Do not remove the kele from base staon unl it is switched OFF, either manually

or automacally.

18. Remove kele from base staon before lling or pouring.

19. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced

physical sensory or mental capabilies, unless they have been given supervision or

instrucon concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

20. This appliance is intended for use in household and similar applicaons such

as: sta kitchen areas in shops, oces, farm houses, and bed/breakfast type

environments.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

Polarized Plug: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).

To reduce risk of electric shock, plug is intended to t into polarized outlet only one way.

If the plug does not t fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it sll does not t, contact

a qualied electrician. Do not try to modify the plug in any way.

Short Cord Instrucons: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk

resulng from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords

may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is used, the marked

electrical rang of the cord should be at least as great as the electrical rang of the

appliance. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the tabletop

where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintenonally.

Parts

HINGED LID: For easy lling, cleaning and storage, the lid is hinged and can be opened

with a push of a buon. Lid is aached and cannot be removed.

LID RELEASE BUTTON: Thumb-acon control opens the lid with the gentle press of the

release for easy cleaning and lling.

SPOUT: Large opening for easy pouring.

REMOVABLE FILTER: The lter will prevent unwanted parcles from entering your drink.

It is important to keep the lter clean, so we made it easy to remove. Follow care and

cleaning instrucons.

STAY COOL HANDLE: Always use handle when moving kele. Remains cool during use for

safe use.

WATER LEVEL MARKINGS: Always ll kele with cold water between the minimum and

maximum levels.

POWER INDICATOR LIGHT: Lights will appear when appliance is heang and o when

desired temperature is reached.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL BUTTONS: Press to select the desired temperature (175°F,

190°F, 200°F and Boil).

ON/CANCEL BUTTON: Press the buon to turn on power to the base. Buon can be

pressed to CANCEL heang cycle at any time.

BASE STATION w/ CORD STORAGE: Allows the kele to be placed on the base in

360° rotaon, giving you the exibility to posion the base anywhere on the counter.

Underneath the base staon you can wrap the cord for easy storage and adjust the

length to meet your needs.

Before rst me use

1. Read and understand all instrucons and keep for future reference.

2. Remove all packaging and labels.

3. Clean all parts, except Base, following ‘Care and Cleaning ’ secon in this book.

CAUTION: KETTLE IS MADE OF GLASS, ALWAYS USE THE HANDLE FOR LIFTING

AND USE CARE WHEN USING OR CLEANING.

4. Wipe the Base with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. WARNING: NEVER IMMERSE

THE BASE OR KETTLE IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.

Operang Instrucons

1. Unwrap cord and place base staon on a sturdy and at surface.

2. Open the kele lid by pressing the lid release buon located on the handle. Lid will

hinge open automacally.

3. Fill with cold water up to the desired level between the minimum and maximum

levels for the proper funconing.

• Do not overll past the maximum level. Boiling water may spill out and cause

severe burn injury.

• Never ll the kele with anything other than water, do not add instant soup or

use to heat any food.

4. Gently press lid down unl locking into closed posion.

5. Place kele onto base staon. Be sure kele is securely placed, it should be at and

center on base. If correct, connect cord to electrical outlet.

6. Gently press the ON/CANCEL buon then press desired temperature seng.

7. When water reaches the set temperature the control buon will begin to ash,

indicang the heang cycle is complete and will keep water warm for 30 minutes. If

select BOIL the kele will cycle once and turn o.

8. Li the kele by the handle and slowly lt to pour water from spout into cup.

9. Before disconnecng plug from electrical outlet, always turn o the kele or li

kele from base staon

Care and Cleaning Instrucons

• Remove cord from electrcal outlet and make sure kele has cooled before handling.

• Clean the base by wiping with clean, damp, cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or

scouring pads. Wipe dry.

• Rinse interior of kele using clean water and gently wipe dry using lint-free cloth.

• Do not leave standing water in the kele. Always discard unused water and dry

interior surfaces when not in use.

• To remove lter, open lid and li tab on lter to inside. Filter will hinge, grasp with

ngers and gently remove.

• It is normal to see the stainless steel cover of the heater plate at the boom of the

kele to change color aer use or if your water has high iron content brownish stains

may appear and can be removed with cloth and mild stain remover.

• Boiling water can leave behind harmless, white calcium deposits inside the kele

and mainly on the stainless steel heater cover. Use a commercially available de-

calcifying agent or add 1 oz. vinegar to water, ll to minimum level and run BOIL cycle.

Hint: If the kele switches o before water is reaches set point, it may need to be

decalcied. Frequency depends on hardness of water and number of uses.

This appliance is warranted for one year from date of original purchase against defects

in material and workmanship. This warranty does not cover transportaon damage,

misuse, accident or similar incident. This warranty gives you specic legal rights and

you may have other rights, which vary from state to state. This product is intended for

household use only, not for commercial use. Warranty does not cover commercial use.

aempt to interfere with the operaon of these safety features makes this warranty

null and void. In the event we receive an appliance for service that has been tampered

with, we reserve the right to restore it to its original state and charge for the repair.

For service in warranty - Defecve products may be returned, postage prepaid, with a

descripon of the defect to: The Metal Ware Corporaon, 1700 Monroe Street, Two

Rivers, Wisconsin 54241, for no-charge repair or replacement at our opon.

Must include proof of purchase or copy of original bill of sale when returning product

for warranty service.

Please call Customer Sasfacon at 1-800-288-4545 to obtain a Return Authorizaon

before shipping.

• For service in warranty, follow instrucons set forth in warranty. When ordering new

parts, make sure that you always menon the model number of the product.

• Call us on our toll free number, 1-800-288-4545 and tell us about your problem.

• If we instruct you to send all or part of your appliance to us for repair or

replacement, our Customer Sasfacon representave will provide a Return

Authorizaon number (this number noes our receiving department to expedite

your repair). Pack your unit carefully in a sturdy carton with sucient padding to

prevent damage because any damage caused in shipping is not covered by the

warranty.

• Print your name, address and Return Authorizaon number on the carton.

• Write a leer explaining the problem. Include the following: your name, address and

telephone number and a copy of the original bill of sale.

• Aach the sealed envelope containing the leer inside the carton. Insure the

package for the value of the NESCO

appliance and ship prepaid to:
