material.ThismeansthatthemethodsusedtocreateaudiodiscsonCDRorCDRWmediaarenowalsoavail

dio.DSD discscan be playedoncompatibleplayersand enjoyedin their original
highquality.
DSDdiscisadiscformatthatisdifferentthantheSuperAudioCD.NotallSuperAudioCDplayerswillnec

AudioGate3canadjusttheleveltosendsignalstoaudiodevicessuchasanaudioplayerseparatelyfromthegain.
Youcandragthemastervolumeupward/downwardtomakeadjustmentstothelevel.
About the level meter and clip indicator
Duringsong playback andexport, AudioGate 3ʹs levelmeter shows the peak values of the output data fo llowing
samplerateconversion.Inaddition,theclipindicatorisdisplayedintheeditingscreenonly.
WhenplayingPCMdata,exportingaPCMfi
le,orcreatin
ganaudioCD,theunitsaredBFSrelativetofullscalelin
earPCMdata(0dB).
Exceptforwhenexportinga32bit(float)file,theclipindicatorwilllightupwhenthereisasignalthatwould
exceed0dBFS,and thesi
gnalwillbeclippedto0dBFSandexported.
Whenplayingorexportinga
1bitaudiofileandwhencreatingaDSDdisc,theunitsaredBSACD,withthetheoret

Changing the peak hold time
AudioGate3ʹslevelmeterandclipindicatorprovideapeakholdfunction.Hereʹshowtochangethelengthoftime
thattheseindicationsareheld.

Registration to library and editing
ByregisteringMRprojects oraudiofilestothelibraryofAudioGate3onyourcomputer,audiofilescanbeplayed
backor,convertedtoanotherformattoexport.

WhenregisteringsongstotheA udioGate3library,acopyofthefilewillnotbecreatedbutthefileinformation
willstillberegisteredtothelibra
ry.
Whenalotofsongsareregisteredatatime,itwilltaketimetodisplaytheminthesonglist.Alsothesongwave
formdisplayrequirestime tobeanal
yzedduringregistration,sothesongwaveformdisplayremainsinabar
stateforawhile.
Song Registration
Registering an MR project
YoucanregisteraprojectthatwasrecordedonaKorgMRseriesunit.
Althoughitispossibletoregisteronlyanaudiofi
lerecordedonyourMRseriesregisteringanMRprojectwillallow
themarks that were added during recording to beimported. Evenif the audio fileshave been divided, they will
automaticallybejoinedsothattheycanbehandledasasi
nglesong.

YoucancreateanoriginalPlaylistbycollectingfavoriteorthemedsongsfromyourAudioGate3library.
InthisPlaylist,youcanadd,sel
ect,removeandsortthesongsaswellasinthelibrary.
WhenyouregistersongsthatarenotregisteredinthelibraryintothePlaylist,the songswillbeautomatically
registeredintothelibraryaswe
llasthePlaylist.
Whensonginformationisupdatedforasongthatʹsinaplaylist,thesonginformationwillalsobeupdatedin
thelibrary..

Song Playback
InAudioGate3,youcanplaybacktheSongsregisteredintheSonglist.Thisprovidesausefulwaytoplaybackthe
songsineachformatincluding1bitaudiofileswithuniformsamplingfrequency,tocheckthefilecontentsortoset
aneditingpoint(seepage29).
The song playback functionality thatʹs provided by AudioGate 3 is a convenient feature that utilizes a high
speedfilter,anddirectoutput
of1bitDSD.Inordertoexperiencethefullsoundqu alityof1bitaudio,please
usetheKorgDSDACseries,acertifiedUSBaudiodevice,oradevicethatsupports1bitaudio,suchastheKorg
MRseries.
InAudioGate3,thesongthatʹsplaying(orpausedforplayback)iscalledthe“currentsong.”Thecurrentsongis
displayedinbold andindicatedbyaPlayback/Paus
eiconontheleftsideofthetitle,andtheviewerwilldisplay
theartistname, titleandalbumnameaboutthatsongontheuppersection.Thecurrent locationinthecurrent
songiscalledthe“currentposition.”Thecurrentpositioncanbeseeninthetimedi
