1. PresstheRECbutton,andthenpresstheMENUbutton>RECLEVEL.ThescreenwillindicateInputGain:Stere o/Indiv./Auto.
2. PressthePDIALtomaketheselectionfieldactiveandthenrotateittoselectStereoifitisnotalreadyselected..

3. PressthePDIALtoexitfromthatfield,androtateittoselectInLgain(left).
4. PressandthenrotatethePDIALtosetthedesiredinputgain.Noticethatbothinputsadjusttothesamevalue.
5. Startrecordingfromrecordreadymode,bypressing
thePLAYbutton.Ifneeded,pressingthePDIALduringrecordingwilltakeyou
backtotheRECLEVELscreentoadjustlevelsfurther.
6. Whenfinishedrecording,presstheSTOPbutton.
Note: PressingSTOPwillclosethecurrentfile,andpressingRECagaincreateanewfile.Ifyouwa nt
tointerruptrecordingandnotcreatea
newfile,pressthePLAY/PAUSEbutton.

Addingamark:
PresstheRECbuttonduringrecordingorplaybackyoucanaddupto100markspersong,andedittheirlocationsafterwards,ifdesired.
Note: Markersareautomaticallyaddedatthebeginningof
aproject,andatlocationswhereyouresumerecordingafterpausingrecording.
YoucanonlyaddmarkstoaprojectthatwasoriginallyrecordedontheMRRecorder.
Usingmarkstomove:
1. PresstheMENUbutton,andthenusethePDIALtoselectandconfirm“PLAYMODE”in
thescreen.Theplaybackmodeselectscreenwill
appear.
2. UsethePDIALtoselectandconfirmCurrentProj/Fileastheplaybackmode.
3. PresstheMENUbutton,andusethePDIALtoselectandconfirmLIBRARYthelibraryselectscreenwillappear.
4. Selectandconfirmaprojectthatcontainsmarks.Nowyoucanmovetothelocationswhereyouaddedthemarks,usingtheFFWandREW

WiththeMRpoweredoff,connectaUSBcabletotheMac.Now,whenyoupowerintheMR,itwillautomaticallyenterUSBmode.
1. “USBMODE”willappearintheMRscreen,andadrivenamed“KORGMR1”or“KORGMR1000”
willbeaddedtoyourcomputer’sdesktop.
Whenyouopenthisnewdriveonyourcomputer,theMR’sharddiskcontentswillbedisplayed,andyoucancopythedesireddataonto
yourcomputer.
Note: DONOTdisconnec ttheUSBcableorturnoffthecomputerpowerinthismode!
Note:
WhenyouconnecttheMRtoyourcomputerforthefirsttime,thedevicedriverwillbeinstalledautomatically.
ExitingUSBmode:
Windowsusers:
1. Leftclicktheiconshownintherightsideofyourcomputer’staskba r,and inthemenuthatappears,leftclick“SafelyremoveUSBmass
storagedevice(drivename)”.
2. Verifythatamessageindicating “youmaysafelyremovetheUSBmassstoragedevice”isdisplayed.
3. NowyoucandisconnecttheUSBcablefromyourPC.
Macusers:
1. DragthedrivefromthedesktopintotheTrash,orhighlightthedriveandchoose“EjectKORGMR1”fromtheFilemenu.
2. PressthePDIALorMENUbuttontoreturntothemenulistscreenafterretu rningtothemenulist,disconnecttheUSBcable.

Transferringfiles:
ThefilesyourecordontheMRrecordersaresavedinautomaticallycreateprojectfoldersforeachrecordingformat(WAV,DFF,DSF,WSD)withinthe
MRPROJfolder.Youcanbackupyourfilesbycopyingthemtoyourcomputer.
IfyouwanttotransferAUDIOdata(.wav,.dff,
.dsf,.wsd)createdonyourcompute rorotherdevice,copyitintotheAUDIOfolderoftheMRrecorder.
WorkingwithAudioGateSoftware
TheaudiofilesofaprojectrecordedontheMR1orMR1000canbecopiedtoyourcomputer,andthentheincludingAudioGatesoftwarecanbe
usedforaudioformatconversion,toplaybackDSDfilesandtodobasiceditingandplaylistfunctions.Afteryouinstallthesoftwarefrom
theincluded
CD,youcanrefertotheAudioGateoperatingmanual(PDF)thatislocatedontheCD.

ItisrecommendedthatyouarchiveyourimportantrecordingsinDSDformat
tomaintainthehighestpossiblerecordingquality.Onceyouhave
recordedyourfile,youcanconvertittothePCMformatofyourchoosing.Thiscanbeusefulwhenusing yourfilesinthirdpartysequencersandaudio
editors.
ConvertingaDSDfiletoPCMusingAudioGate:
1. Transferyour
filesfromtheMRrecordertoyourcomputer.Seepage45ofthisguideformoreinfo.
2. LaunchtheAudioGatesoftware
3. ClickontheAddbuttontoincludeyourfile(s)inthesessionalternatively,youcanjustdraganddropfilesontotheProjectPlaylistif
desired.
4. ChoosetheDSDfileyouwishtoconvertbyclickingontheNo.columnwithyourmouse.
5. ClicktheExportbutton
6. Choosethedestinationforyourconvertedfile.
7. ChoosetheFileType,SamplingRate,andBitDepththatisappropriate.
8. YounowhaveaPCM
audiofilethatcanbeusedinotherapplications.
Note: Recordingsover2GBwillautomaticallybesplitupintomultiplefilesintheMRrecorders.They willplaybackseamlesslywithinthe
recorder,butwhenbroughtoverintothecomputertheywillshowupasseparatefiles(DFF_000_1,DFF_000_2,DFF_000_3etc.).
