The system provides two standard IDE connectors that supports PIO Mode 0~4, Bus Master,
Ultra ATA 33/66/100. This system also provides 1 Serial ATA connector and can provide 150
MB/s data transmission rates.
IDE1 (Primary IDE connector)
You can connect up to two hard drives to IDE1. If you do attach two drives, you must use a
ribbon cable with three connectors. You must also configure one drive as the master and one
drive as the slave, using the jumpers located on each drive.
IDE2 (Secondary IDE connector)
The IDE2 controller can also support a Master and a Slave drive. The configuration is similar to
IDE1.
J40/ J81 (Serial ATA connector)
The SATA connector supports Serial ATA 150. It can only support one serial ATA device.
Note: With most storage devices there is a power cable that you need to attach to a
power source (power supply).
Power Supply Connectors

The power supply of the ABOX supports PFC (Power Factor Correction) and is compliant with
European Union (EU) regulations. With PFC, this system can reduce power consumption and
increase stability. The mainboard requires two ATX power connections; a 20-pin connector
17
ABOX 865G SERIES
and a 4-pin connector. Attach the 4-pin connector first and then attach the 20-pin connector.
Make sure the connectors are secure before applying power.
Jumpers/Headers
CD-ROM Audio-In Header: CDIN1
This header is used to connect to the CD-ROM/ DVD audio cable.
Clear CMOS Jumper: JP1
The “Clear CMOS” jumper is used when you cannot boot your system due to some CMOS
configuration problem such as a forgotten password. This jumper allows you to reset the
CMOS configurations, and then reconfigure.
The following steps explain how to reset your CMOS configurations when
you have forgotten your system password.
1. Turn off your system and disconnect the AC power cable.
2. Set JP1 to OFF (2-3 Closed).
3. Wait several seconds.
4. Set JP1 to ON (1-2 Closed).
5. Connect the AC power cable and turn on your system.
6. Reset your new password.
