Ricoh D7510 Operating instructions

  • Hello! I've reviewed the user manual for Ricoh Interactive Whiteboards (IWB) and their controllers. This document outlines important usage conditions and settings like Auto Shutdown, Weekly Timers, and Power Save modes to ensure optimal performance. I'm here to answer any questions you might have regarding the operation and maintenance of your IWB device.
  • What is the maximum recommended continuous usage time for the IWB?
What can happen if I use IWB more than 18 hours a day?
What are the options to avoid the display being powered on 24/7?
When does the backlight of the display turn off when the Power Save setting is [Low] and controller is used?
Usage Conditions
RICOH Interactive Whiteboard ("IWB") is not designed for a display to be powered on 24/7.
Do not use the machine continuously/intermittently for more than 18 hours per day. This is also not for
average use over one week or one month, etc. Such usage could result in a display malfunction that
might not be supported by Ricoh. Try one of these settings below to maintain stable operation.
When IWB is connected to RICOH Interactive Whiteboard Controller Type1/
Type2/Type3 ("Controller"):
Set Auto Shutdown Time for Controller.*1
When IWB is not being operated for a specific period of time, it shuts down automatically. Access this
setting option from Administrator Settings.
Set Weekly Timer (Auto Shutdown) for Controller*1 (Controller Type3 V4.3 or later)
If the machine is in standby mode when it reaches the scheduled time of day of a week, the machine
shuts down. Otherwise, the machine shuts down if it enters standby mode within 60 minutes after the
scheduled time. When the machine does not enter standby mode within 60 minutes after the scheduled
time, the machine does not shut down even if "Weekly Timer (Auto Shutdown)" is configured.
Set Auto Standby Time for Controller*1 and set the Power Save setting to [Low] in
IWB.*2
Set Auto Standby Time for Controller.*1
When IWB is not operated for a specific period of time, it enters standby mode automatically. Access
this setting option from Administrator Settings.
Set the Power Save setting to [Low] in IWB.*2,*3
In case the Power Save setting is [Low], the backlight of the display turns off when Controller goes
into standby mode. In case the Power Save setting is [Off], the backlight of the display remains on.
Access this setting option from On-Screen Display Menu in IWB.
When IWB is NOT connected to Controller:
Set the Power Save setting to [High] or [Low] in IWB.*2
In case the Power Save setting is [High] or [Low], the backlight of the display turns off when there is no
video input. In case the Power Save setting is [Off], the backlight remains on even though there is no
video input. Access this setting option from On-Screen Display Menu in IWB.
If you can change none of the settings above:
Manually shut down IWB or set IWB into standby mode to avoid the display being
powered on 24/7.
*1 See "Changing the Interactive Whiteboard Settings" in the Controller operating instructions for
further details.
*2 See "The On-Screen Display Menu" in the operating instructions for the display for further details.
*3 When Controller is connected to IWB, the [High] option is not displayed.
