Electronic unit:

Instrument screen in main mode:

The “*” symbol is displayed when the backlight is on, it is not
recommended to search with the backlight on during daylight

In the operating mode, the Up / Down buttons can be used to

Soil balance called by pressing the “OK” button. For correct
readings, enter this menu with the sensor raised above the
ground. The top line displays the response from the ground in
graphical form, with 0 in the middle. In the bottom line is the
value of the current angle of the soil response in degrees. The
manual angle can be changed using the "Left" and "Right"
buttons, the step is 0.1 degrees. Raising and lowering the
sensor should achieve minimal deviations on the upper scale.
For the changes to take effect, you need to click "OK", if you
exit by pressing Esc, the changes are not remembered. When
you press any of the Up or Down buttons (from the balance
screen), the automatic ground adjustment mode starts. This
mode should be started with the sensor raised, after which
the user has about 4 seconds to lower and raise the sensor.
The angle of response of the soil will be calculated,
remembered, and the device will switch to the main mode.
The device menu is called up by pressing the \ esc Menu

Audio Menu - AUDIO SETTINGS.
Volume-adjustment of the volume level. The range of volume
levels is 0-31. Operating values at the level of 5-10.
Volume variation Sets the sound level of the target,
depending on the level of response. The finer (or deeper) the
target - the quieter the sound of the target. The larger the
target or the less its depth, the louder the sound. The range of
change is 1-7. The buttons "Left" and "Right" - decrease and
increase the range of volume changes, "OK" - memorization,
"Esc" - exit without storing. I recommend setting the value to
2-3.
Sound freq max-maximum frequency (pitch) of sound the

recommend trying different values and choosing the most
comfortable one for your ears

LF boost-control of suppression / gain of volume in the field of
low frequencies. 5 options are available:
• suppression -6 dB per octave

FM Transmitter - a wireless FM signal transmitter, you can use
wireless headphones with an FM receiver, or connect wired
headphones to your phone / player, turn on the FM receiver
on them, and hide the device somewhere in the inside pocket
to search comfortably, because between the device and the
search engine do not “hang” any extra wires. The signal
transmission range is up to 5 meters
• FM ON \ OFF –– turn the transmitter on and off.
ATTENTION!!! When the transmitter is on, sound is not output
to the device’s speaker and can only be heard through the
receiver.
• FM frequency transmitter frequency. It is in the standard
range of 70.0 MHz 108.0 MHz. It is necessary to choose a free
frequency so as not to listen to coin signals on the chanson fm
wave
It should also be noted that if the search is carried out
next to a similar device at the same transmitter frequency,
then at a distance of 3-5 meters You will listen to each other's
signals, you need to use different signal transmission
frequencies.
Menu item HW OPTIONS - HARDWARE SETTINGS.
TX frequency - (TX transmit loop frequency). Allows you to set
the frequency of the device within 4-20kHz. The mode is
needed not only to set the frequency of the TX, but also to
tune the TX circuit to resonance. In manual mode, the
frequency is changed using the "Left" and "Right" buttons,
while the current consumption of the TX output stage (in mA)
is also displayed on the screen. When you press any of the Up
or Down buttons, the device switches to the mode of
automatic selection of the resonant frequency according to
the maximum current of the output stage. To save this setting,
click the “OK” button. When exiting “Esc”, the setting is not
remembered.
Voltmeter - correction of the battery level indication. The
voltmeter value is changed using the "Right" and "Left"
buttons. “OK” - exit with saving the result, “Esc” - exit without
saving.
U min Sets the threshold for the low battery warning. The
value is changed using the "Right" and "Left" buttons. “OK” -
exit with saving the result, “Esc- exit without saving. When
powered by two Li-ION batteries connected in series, set the
value to 6.0V
Ferrite calibr ferrite calibration. Allows you to set the initial
value (ZERO) of the VDI scale. Take the angle of response from
ferrite as 0 degrees (if in very simple words, it allows the
device to understand where copper is, where ferrous metal,
etc.). Manual mode is possible, in which the “Left” and “Right”
buttons set the angle of rotation (delay) in degrees. In this
case, the response level is displayed in the upper line, moving
a piece of ferrite over the coil, and changing the angle of
rotation, it is necessary to achieve a minimum deviations of
the level indicator from 0. By pressing any of the Up or Down
buttons, the device switches to the automatic ferrite
calibration mode, while the user has about 4 seconds to spend
a few times a piece of ferrite over the coil. A small piece of
ferrite should be used, and do not bring it close to the sensor.
The angle of response from it will be calculated, but to save
this setting, you must click the OK button. When exiting “Esc”,
the setting is not remembered.
>> For RK instruments, the value is usually in the range from -
20 to -45. Also, after automatic calibration, I strongly
recommend manual calibration so that there is no response to
ferrite, the average size of a copper coin was about 80-81
according to VDI, a piece of foil 1.5x1.5 cm (not a lump) was
about 0 by VDI, and 5 kopecks of the USSR about 50 by VDI.
Remember - the correct ferrite setting is the key to the correct
operation of the device. Values need to be adjusted manually

ferrite calibration is a matter of experience, if the ferrite is not
set correctly, the device may not see large copper targets at a
depth, giving false positives for strikes and show other
negative phenomena. Understanding this setting is the key to
a comfortable and productive search.
COIL BALANCE menu item - SENSOR BALANCE
In each subparagraph, the projection of the unbalance vector
X (top line) and Y (bottom line) is displayed in graphical form,
as well as the unbalance range in millivolts (top line) and the
angle of the unbalance vector in degrees (bottom line) in
numerical form. The screens of all 3 points are identical, and
differ in the letter in the second line:
• "B" - "Balance"
• "D" - "Desired balance"
• "N" - "No compensator"
Desired balance value of the desired sensor balance level.
The amplitude and phase value are set to which the auto-
compensator needs to balance the sensor. Use the Up, Down
and Right, Left buttons to achieve the desired amplitude and
phase value.
For RC devices in Desiredbalance, you need to set the
following values: Do not ask why, just put 100-150 mV and
about -160, both vectors should be to the left, as in the photo

For other users, I recommend consulting the
manufacturer of your device.
No compensator the actual balance of the sensor with the
compensator turned off.
Compensator on / off –– enable or disable the auto-
compensator.
USER PROFILE Menu Item - USER PROFILES
Save setting-record the current settings in the selected profile.
There are 8 profiles available. Factory reset-reset the device to
“initial basic” >> click CATERORALLY I DO NOT RECOMMEND,
it’s better to load an empty profile, there will be basic
settings. Load setting-restore previously saved settings from
the profile.
Menu item BACKLIGHT LEVEL - SCREEN BACKLIGHT LEVEL;
Backlight — Setting the brightness level of the backlight; 0 -
off ... 100 - the highest brightness. Change the value with the
buttons "Right" and "Left." “OK” - exit with saving the result,
“Esc” - exit without saving.
USER PWM Menu Item - THROUGH CURRENT ADJUSTMENT
User PWM value (from 0 to 64) of the level of the user signal
of pulse width modulation PWM (PWM). In our case, this is
the sensor current control signal. In the top line, use the Up,
Down, or Left, or Right buttons to set the PWM level. The
bottom line displays the current value in the TX sensor coil.
Current is displayed in mA milliamperes.
>> I recommend setting 70-100mA, for different sensors
differently, the higher the value, the greater the influence of
soil on the device, that is, the device is more difficult to cope
with the response of the soil, if you wind too much current,
the device can see through the air a half meter -WOW , and 10

need to intelligently regulate the current in TX, for “weak”
soils you can 100, and higher, for example, in sandy soil, and
for chernozem 60-85 mA for large sensors , and for smaller

FILTER menu item - SOUND FILTER SETTING
Ground filter - Suppression of the effect of mineralization of
the soil allows you to reduce the effect of soil on the input of
the device, slightly increase the depth of the search, and also
helps to configure the detector for the best scanning speed by
the search coil of soil for optimal operation. A decrease in soil
filtration when searching on low-mineralized soil increases
the detection depth, however, on highly mineralized soil the
depth will be small. By adjusting the level of soil filtration, You
can optimize the search for local soil conditions, as well as the
scanning speed of the search coil of soil. Lower filters allow
slower scanning speeds by the soil coil. The choice of higher
levels of filtration gives the possibility of a higher scanning
speed by the search coil of soil. Quasar-AWP allows you to
select five combinations of digital filter configuration. It can
take the following values:
• Very slow - very slow
• Slow-slow
• Normal — normal
• Fast — fast
• Very Fast very fast
Change the value with the buttons "Right" and "Left." “OK” -

Menu item MAIN SCREEN –– SCREEN VIEW
Signograph + VDI - display of the VDI scale consisting of 16
segments, the top row - the segments of the scale, the bottom
row on the left: VDI value, the bar of the response level from
the target, bottom right - alternating values: current in the
sensor in mA, ground balance, and battery voltage in V.
Signograph is the same as the previous menu item, only
without VDI value VDI is the display of the value of the VDI
number in large digits, the signal level is on the top line above
the current values in the sensor, the level of ground balance
and the supply voltage.
LAG SIGNOGRAPH submenu item - DELAY OF SIGNOGRAPH
INDICATIONS
• Value from 0 to 31. Delay of the indication of the
signalograph allows you to better control the location of the
target in the segment of the VDI scale during posting.
Convenient working value of 20-25.
MASK menu item - HIDDEN MASK OF SECTORS
Set Mask-Allows you to enable / disable any of the 16 sectors
in the VDI range. The top line displays the current mask, the
bottom line shows the cursor, which can be moved with the
"Left" and "Right" keys. Any of the Up or Down keys, the
current sector is enabled or disabled. To memorize the mask,
you must press the "OK" button, when exiting by "Esc",
changes are not remembered. "Checkers" displays a sector
that will not be voiced.
SPEED OF GEB - GROUND ADJUSTMENT SPEED
Autotrack speed-speed adjustment for changes in soil. Allows
you to adjust the speed of auto-tuning "under the ground" in
the search process or disable auto-tuning. The more difficult
the soil (salt marsh, clay), or the more often you switch from
denser and drier soil (such as an old pasture) to loosened soil
(plowing) - the faster the adjustment. It can take the following
values:
• “OFF” - disabled
• “SLOW-slow
• "MEDIUM" - average value
• "FAST" fast
To memorize a value, it is necessary to press the “OK” button;
when exiting via “Esc”, changes are not remembered.
