The Pen Tray
the ready light
Plugging in your SMART Board for the first time
when you plug in your SMART Board to your computer for the first time, the ready
light will flash green for a few minutes.
this is normal
when your ready light is
solid green
, your board is fully functional
the lights on the pen tray will also flicker each time you plug in the USB cable
note:
if you see a flashing green light for longer
than a few minutes, an amber light or a red
light: please consult the
Troubleshooting Guide
pick up a pen or the eraser from the pen tray
it will detect which tool you have selected
onscreen keyboard
right mouse click
note:
pick up
one tool at a time
 replace a tool before you pick up a new one
The pen tray will light up with which ever tool was picked up last
:this will be your active tool until you put it down in its original spot
2.
Orienting the SMART Board
this is very important so that your SMART Board knows where your touch is
this will allow objects to be moved easily & writing to be on the correct area of the board
press the onscreen keyboard &
the right mouse click buttons together & release
this will launch the orientation screen
hit the centre of the
target and release
using the SMART pen is
more accurate than
your finger
the SMART board
registers your
final
point of
contact  so be as
accurate as possible to
the middle of the target
when you let the pen go
If your SMART Board and/or your projector are not permanently mounted, you will
need to reorient the board more often
if you change the
mirroring
or
screen resolution
on your computer, you will need
to reorient each time you make a change

Cleaning your SMART Board
before you clean your SMART Board, unplug the USB cable from your computer
