Mounting the Upright Handles:
a.) Once hinges are installed and gate is aligned, place
the alignment template on the gate upright at the
desired height.
NOTE:
Use the 1

or 2" template for 2" gate uprights.
Ensure the two solid lines of the template are
positioned at the outer edges of the gate upright
(Fig. 1).
b.) Pre-drill two corner holes using a

" drill bit and
pre-drill one center hole using a

" drill bit. Repeat
on opposite side of upright (Fig. 2).
c.) Remove and discard templates.
d.) Insert the three prongs of the front handle through
the three pre-drilled holes on the front side of the
upright (Fig. 3).
NOTE:
If using a 1

" upright, you will use the included
spacer. 2" uprights do not require the spacer.
The remainder of this manual shows the
installation using the spacer.
e.) Align the spacer on the rear face of the upright
though the three prongs of the front handle (Fig. 4).
f.) Install the rear handle by guiding the  at bar of
the front handle into the slotted groove of the rear
handle (Fig. 5).

g.) Using two 25mm round head Phillips machine
screws, secure rear handle to the two threaded
corner prongs of the front handle (Fig. 6).
h.) Snap on rear handle cover (Fig. 7)

Mounting The Catch To The Post
a.) Slide the catch onto the catch bracket (Fig. 8).
b.) Align the catch at the correct height along post to
engage with the front handle striker (Fig. 9).
c.) While holding the catch bracket in place, mark the
center of the two slotted holes on the inside of the
post (Fig. 10).
d.) Slide the catch off of the bracket and mark the
center of the slotted hole on the front of the post
(Fig. 11).

e.) Pre-drill holes and secure catch bracket with three
16mm Phillips self-drilling screws (Fig. 12).
f.) Slide the catch onto the bracket and position,
ensuring the proper gap to engage the striker. The
gap between the catch and the front handle base
should be no larger than

g.) Once you align the catch on the bracket, secure
its position with one 28mm Phillips machine screw.
Rotate the screw clockwise to decrease the gap, or
counter-clockwise to increase the gap (Fig. 14).
Adjusting The Handles
The handles are able to be positioned in a vertical or
horizontal orientation depending on your preference.
a.) Loosen the small screw under the shaft of the
handle (Fig. 15).
b.) Position the handle to desired orientation and
tighten the screw (Fig. 16).

Subject to the conditions and limitations set out below, Barrette Outdoor Living
warrants that for so long as the original purchaser of a product manufactured by
Barrette Outdoor Living owns that Boerboel Manual Hardware (the Product) it will be
free from all defects due to faulty design, materials or workmanship.
If a defect in the Product appears the purchaser must advise Barrette Outdoor Living
within 14 days of discovering the defect and return the defective item, comprising
either the Product or a defective component of the Product (the ltem), to
Barrette Outdoor Living, freight prepaid, together with proof of purchase whereupon
Barrette Outdoor Living will, at its option and cost, repair or replace the defective
ltem with the same or an equivalent Product or component. Barrette Outdoor Living
will not be liable for labor or any other costs associated with the dismantling, return
or reassembly of the Product or any frame or structure to which it is af xed.
This warranty does not apply in respect of defects due to or arising from:
(a) normal wear and tear;
(b) the failure to follow any procedures speci ed or recommended by
Barrette Outdoor Living for the installation, operation and maintenance of
the Product;
(c) any act or circumstance beyond Barrette Outdoor Livings control including
tampering, unauthorized repairs, misuse, abnormal use, abuse, accident,
damage after delivery to the consumer, damage caused by events beyond
human control including but not limited to damage caused by animals or
natural events, surface tarnishing and/or damage to components caused by
corrosion or other environmental conditions;
(d) any defect of or in any framework or material supporting the Product; or
(e) the faulty workmanship of any person other than Barrette Outdoor Living,
including the installer of the Product.
This warranty is personal to the original purchaser of the Product or to the  rst
consumer where the Product has been installed by a contractor for the bene t
of the consumer and may not be assigned without Barrette Outdoor Living’s prior
written consent.
This warranty gives you speci c legal rights which are in addition to, and do not
replace, other rights and remedies you may have available to you by law and which
may vary from state to state.
Except as expressly granted in this warranty or where to do so would contravene
a statute:
(a) all other warranties, conditions and representations, whether express or
implied by general law, statute or custom, in relation to the Product and its
quality,  tness for purpose and suitability are expressly excluded; and
(b) Barrette Outdoor Living’s liability is excluded for all other loss, damage or
injury of any kind whatsoever (including any direct, indirect or consequential
loss or damage, loss of pro ts or loss of opportunity) arising in connection
with the Product, or the supply, condition or use of the Product, including as
a result of any negligence, misrepresentation, or other default on the part of
Barrette Outdoor Living, its of cers, employees, or contractors or otherwise.
