Downloading and Editing DVD’s created on the VDR-D100 and VDR-
D150
• The VDR-D100 and the VDR-D150 do not come with software to export or edit
footage from the discs that is creates, using a PC.
• The software that you will need is dependant on what disc you use in the unit
• There are 4 disc options
DVD-RW (V Formatted)
DVD-RW (VR Formatted)
DVD-RAM
DVD-R
The third party software that you purchase will need to support different
types of files dependant on what disc you use and how it is formatted
(See Below)
• DVD-RW (V Formatted) and DVD-R
These discs require finalising before they can be read by a computer
or home DVD player.
Once the DVD is finalised it is in the same format as pre recorded
(Bought) DVD’s. This format is DVD-Video and the Video files have a
VOB file extension.
To edit these types of discs the software you purchase must support
MPEG2 files with the VOB file extension.
• DVD-RW (VR Formatted) and DVD RAM
These discs are formatted in DVD-VR format and the video files have a
VRO file extension. DVD-RW can be finalised to improve compatibility with
other devices. DVD-RAM cannot be finalised.
To edit these types of discs the software you purchase must support
the DVD-VR format and accept MPEG2 files with the VRO file
extension.
When purchasing third party software please ensure it supports the type
of discs you are using in the unit. Please also be aware that Panasonic
cannot support the operation of the third party software that you
purchase. For advice on using the software please contact the software
manufacturer.
