2 Safety and Dangers

Â Use inverters according to their intended use.

Â Use inverters in original and technically fully intact condition

without unauthorized modifications.

Â Ensure that inverters are installed and serviced by qualified

specialists only.

t The qualified specialist personnel requires a license from the

relevant energy suppliers.

Â Always mount inverters in a vertical position.

Â Ensure that all protection devices are fully operational.

Â Verify that ventilation openings are not blocked or covered.

Â Protect inverters from direct sunlight.

Â Prior to installation and maintenance work, make certain that the

inverter is de-energized.

Â Ensure that regulations stipulated by trade associations and

inspection authorities and agencies are observed and that the

connection conditions of the relevant energy supplier or

equivalent national and international rules and regulations are

adhered to.

Â Observe conditions of use (see 14 Technical Data).

3 Intended Use

Â Use the inverter exclusively to feed photovoltaically converted

solar energy into the public 230 V/50 Hz mains.

Â Do not use the inverter in autonomous power systems.

Â Do not use the inverter in vehicles.

5.2 Transport

Transport with lifting gear

Â Load thread on inverter exclusively in longitudinal direction.

Â Ensure that carrying straps or ropes are at least 2 m long.

Â Use yoke.

truck and on a transport pallet.

Â Put transport pallet 4 with inverter on even ground.

Â Remove upper part of packaging 1.

Â Lift inverter out of bottom part of packaging 3.

Use wooden protection elements 2 for carrying.

Â Take inverter to installation site.

On installation site:

Â Unscrew wooden protection elements 2 from inverter.

5.4 Mounting the inverter

Note

DIEHL AKO advises against installing the inverter in living spaces.

Danger

Danger to life due to electric shock!

Â Have the inverter opened exclusively by the

PLATINUM service or service partners authorized by

DIEHL AKO.

Danger

Danger to life due to incorrect connection of inverter!

Â Have inverters installed by qualified specialists only.

The qualified specialist personnel requires a license

from the relevant energy suppliers.

Danger

Danger to life due to inverter dropping from the wall!

Â Use mounting elements appropriate for the mounting

wall and the weight of the inverter unit.

During mounting and dismounting:

Â Wear protective shoes.

Â Ensure a stable position.

Caution

Material damage due to unprotected installation site!

Â Observe admissible ambient temperature.

(see 14 Technical Data).

Caution

Material damage due to excessive dust formation!

Â PDegree of protection IP65 does not apply to

communication interface.

Â Avoid excessive dust formation.

Â Avoid dust formation with electrically conductive dust

particles.

Install the mounting fixture as follows:

Â Unscrew mounting fixture 1 from the back of the inverter.

Â Mark the mounting holes using the mounting fixture as a

template.

t Observe dimensions and distances.

t Observe a minimum distance of 50 cm between inverter and

floor.

t Observe a minimum distance of 50 cm between inverter and

ceiling.

Â Drill the mounting holes and insert the screw anchors.

Â Bolt down mounting fixture 1.

Mount inverters as follows:

Â Observe a minimum distance of 50 cm to the floor.

Â Observe a minimum distance of 50 cm to the ceiling.

Â Slide cooling element of the inverter into the mounting fixture 1.

Â Hold the inverter on recessed grips 5 and push up until mounting

bolts 4 drop into slotted pieces for mounting bolts 3 on both

sides.

Â Let down the inverter.

Mounting bolts 4 are seated in the slotted pieces.

Â Verify that minimum distances are kept (see Fig. 6).

Â Verify that the inverter is hanging in the mounting fixture

correctly.

base of Power Block protective housing TL Large 1.

5.5 Connection of the inverter

Note

Terms relating to the alternating voltage side will be combined with

AC below. Terms relating to the direct voltage side will be combined

with DC below.

Danger

Danger to life due to high AC voltage!

Â Switch off the mains power supply (AC side) before

connecting the inverter (fuse).

Â Connect inverter exclusively to TN or TT mains

(see IEC 60364-1) with 230 V.

Â Maximum allowed fuse on alternating voltage side:

40 A, C-characteristics.

Danger

Danger to life due to high DC voltage!

Â Prior to connecting the inverter, verify that voltage is

applied to the generator-side DC terminal.

Â Prior to connecting the inverter, verify that the DC

voltage polarity is correct.

Â Wear insulating protective clothing and face

protection if there is voltage present at the DC input.

Â Remove DC cable exclusively if inverter is out of

operation.

Caution

Risk of burns due to hot surfaces!

After a longer operation with high power, housing

temperatures of > 60 °C are possible.

Â Do not touch hot surfaces.

Caution

Material damage due to DC plug connectors that don’t

fit!

Â Use exclusively DC cable connectors and DC

receptacles of the same type and manufacturer.

Â Make sure that cable connector in latched in socket

correctly.

For free-standing devices, the possibilities for cable routing through

Power Block protective housing TL Large are as follows:

Î from front

Î from below

Î from back

Caution

Lack of performance and functionality due to

inappropriate cables!

Â Ensure that wire cross sections and fuses conform to

VDE 100 Part 430.

Â Ensure that any network cables between two

inverters are not longer than 30 m.

Â Ensure that network cable of entire PV plant is not

longer than 1,000 m.

Â For DC lines, use a wire cross section of at least

2.5 mm

Â Ensure that admissible power dissipation of mains line

is not exceeded.

Caution

Material damage due to excessive voltage!

Â Ensure that the max. DC voltage is not exceeded

(see 14 Technical Data).

Â Connect exclusively safety extra low voltage on the

contact of the external indicator.
