INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
MY FLAPPER CLOSES QUICKLY AND I DON’T GET A COMPLETE FLUSH
• Check the flapper chain. If it looks loose; tighten it, by one or two links. If it looks straight loosen it a bit and try flush again. Chain should have 1/2" of slack.
• Adjust the flapper setting to a high number (see Step 7).
MY FLAPPER STAYS OPEN TOO LONG AND I GET A DOUBLE FLUSH
• Adjust the flapper setting to a lower number (see Step 7).
I GET WATER BETWEEN TANK AND BOWL WHEN I FLUSH
• Make sure the tank cannot be rocked. If it can, you will need to tighten the hex nuts under the bowl.
• Check the tank to bowl gasket for proper fitting.
MY FILL VALVE TURNS ON AND OFF EVERY SO OFTEN
• This means the flush valve is leaking water to the bowl. Check three things:
1) The refill hose is too far down in the overflow pipe. Keep it above the water level of the tank.
2) The flapper is not seating completely. Check flapper and seat for debris on surface. If flapper is not completely flat, turn upside down and submerge it in a
bowl of hot tap water for 5 minutes, then re-install.
3) The lock nut between tank and bowl may not be tight enough. Turn lock nut a quarter turn to seal flush valve in tank.
Remove
tank-to-bowl

and large

cover bolt
holes. Hand
tighten flush
valve lock
nut. DO NOT

flush valve must be at
least 3" below the top of
the fill valve.
CAUTION: Overflow pipe
must be below the tank
lever opening (to prevent
flooding).
Connect flapper chain.
Allow for 1/2" of slack
when flapper is in the
closed position.

Unbolt tank
from bowl,
then lift tank
and set on a
stable, soft
surface.
Remove any
remaining
rubber
washer,
hex nut and
bolts.

Slide new tank to
bowl gasket over
nut with narrow
side facing down.
Gasket should
cover the nut
completely.

Turn off water
supply (1).
Flush toilet and
remove excess
water from tank
with sponge.
(2) Place bucket
or towel under
water supply line
and remove nut
of water supply
line from bottom
of toilet fill valve.

Reconnect water
supply line to bottom
of fill valve (1). Turn
on water supply
and check for any
leaking. If leaking,
turn nut just enough
to stop leaking. Then
flush toilet to check.

NOTE: Place metal
washers and hex
nuts onto brass bolts
before installing tank
on bowl.

Before replacing the tank on
the bowl, place metal washer
and hex nut onto bolt under
tank and hand tighten hex
nut. Then place tank back on
the bowl gasket so that tank
to bowl gasket fits evenly.
Level tank. Under the bowl
attach rubber washer, metal
washer and metal hex nut.
Tighten the hex nuts under
the bowl evenly until the tank
is stable and doesn’t rock.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN or
the tank or bowl could break.

Retire la
empaquetadur
a que une el
tanque con

Coloque la válvula
de descarga en el
tanque. Coloque el
tubo de desborde
hacia la parte
posterior del
tanque. No cubra
los orificios de
los pernos. Ajuste
la contratuerca
de la válvula
para descarga
de inodoro
con la mano.
NO APRIETE
DEMASIADO, de
lo contrario el
tanque se puede
agrietar.
Cuando instale el tubo de desborde
de la válvula para descarga de
inodoro, la parte superior de éste
debe estar al menos 7,62 cm por
debajo de la parte superior de la
válvula de llenado.
PRECAUCIÓN: La tubería de
desborde debe estar bajo la apertura
de la palanca del tanque (para evitar
inundaciones).
Conecte la cadena de tapón.
Asegúrese de que la cadena tenga
1,27 cm de holgura cuando el tapón
esté en la posición de cerrado.
Antes de volver a colocar el tanque
en la taza, coloque la arandela
de metal y la tuerca hexagonal
sobre el perno que está debajo del
tanque y apriete a mano la tuerca
hexagonal. Luego vuelva a colocar
el tanque sobre la empaquetadura
de la taza, de manera que la
empaquetadura que une el tanque
a la taza calce perfectamente.
Nivele el tanque. Fije la arandela
de goma, la arandela de metal
y la tuerca hexagonal de metal
debajo de la taza. Apriete las
tuercas hexagonales debajo de
la taza uniformemente hasta
que el tanque quede estable y
no se balancee. NO APRIETE
DEMASIADO, ya que el tanque o la
taza podrían agrietarse.
Destornille
el tanque
de la taza,
luego levante
el tanque y
póngalo sobre
una superficie
estable y
suave. Retire
cualquier
arandela
de goma
restante,
la tuerca
hexagonal y
los pernos.
Coloque la

MI TAPÓN SE CIERRA MUY RÁPIDO Y NO PUEDO REALIZAR UNA DESCARGA COMPLETA
• Revise la cadena del tapón. Si se ve suelta, apriétela en uno o dos eslabones. Si está tensa, aflójela un poco y vuelva a realizar la descarga. La cadena debe tener 1,27 cm de holgura.
• Ajuste la configuración del tapón a un número superior (consulte el paso 7).
MI TAPÓN PERMANECE ABIERTO POR MUCHO TIEMPO Y SE PRODUCE UNA DESCARGA DOBLE
• Ajuste la configuración del tapón a un número inferior (consulte el paso 7).
SALE AGUA ENTRE EL TANQUE Y LA TAZA CUANDO REALIZO LA DESCARGA
• Asegúrese de que el tanque no se balancee. Si lo hace, deberá apretar las tuercas hexagonales que están debajo de la taza.
• Revise que la empaquetadura del tanque a la taza tenga el ajuste adecuado.
MI VÁLVULA DE LLENADO SE ABRE Y CIERRA CON DEMASIADA FRECUENCIA
• Esto significa que la válvula para descarga de inodoro no tiene fugas de agua hacia la taza. Revise tres cosas:
1) La manguera de recarga está demasiado afuera del tubo de desborde. Manténgala por sobre el nivel de agua del tanque.
2) El tapón no está asentado completamente. Revise que no haya desechos en la superficie del tapón y el asentamiento. Si el tapón no está completamente plano,
delo vuelta y sumérjalo en un recipiente con agua caliente por 5 minutos y vuelva a instalarlo.
3) Puede que la contratuerca entre el tanque y la taza no esté lo suficientemente apretada. Gire la contratuerca a un cuarto de giro para sellar la válvula para descarga de inodoro en el tanque.
