Guaran tee and Compensation
Barco provides a guarantee relating to perfect man ufacturing as part of the legally stipulated terms of guarantee. On receipt, the purchaser
must immediately inspect all delivered goods for dam age inc urred during transport, a s well as for material and manufacturing faults Barco
must be informed immediately in writing of any c omplaints.
The period of gu arantee begins on the date of transfer of risks, in the case of special systems and software on the date of comm issioning,
at latest 30 days after the transfer of risks. In the ev ent of justied notice of com plaint, Barco can r epair the fault or provide a replac ement
at its own discretion within an appropriate period. If this m ea
sure proves to be impossible or uns uccessful, the purchaser ca n deman d a
reduction in the purchase pr ice or c ancellation of the contract. All other claims, in par ticular th ose relating to compensa tion for direct or
indirect damage, and also damage attributed to the operation of s oftware as well as to other services provided by Barco, being a component
of the s ystem or independent service, will b e deemed inval
id provided the damage is not pro ven to be attributed to the absence of properties
guaranteed in writing or due to the intent or gr oss negligence or part of Bar co.
If the purchaser or a third party carries out modications or repairs o n go ods delivered by Barco, or if the goods are ha ndled inc orrectly,
in particular if the systems a re commiss ioned operated incorrectly or if, after the transfer of risks, the goods are subject to inuences not
agreed upon in the contract, all guarantee claims of the purchaser will be rendered invalid. Not included in the guarantee coverage are
system failures which are attributed to programs or special electronic circuitry pr ovided by the purchaser, e.g. interfaces. Normal wear as
well as normal maintenance a re not subject to the guarantee provided by Barco either.
The environmental conditions as well as the servicing and maintenance regulations specied in the this manual must be com plied with by
the customer.

1. SAFETY
Introduction
Read all warnings and cautions attentively wherever mentioned in this ma nual. This to prevent pers onal injury wh en r eplacing a
Xenon lamp of the SIM 10 projector.
1.1 Safety Guidelines
This procedure is intended for use only by qualied service technicians wh o have been trained and authorized
by B arco!
WARNING: Ho t Surface and Risk of Explosion: Switch the projector to stand by and let it cool down for at least
15 minutes. These lamps cons ist o f a quartz arc tube operating at very high t emp erature a nd high pressu re
which m ay explode suddenly. There is a risk of personal injury and property damage from hot quartz arc tube
particles if h and led incorrectly.
WARNING: Risk of Electrical Shock: Power down the projector and unplug the power cord from the wall
outlet. Once the projector is cooled down and the power is off, continue with the procedure.
WARNING: Lamp Runtime Warning: Do n ot exceed the indicated maximum total lifetime of the lamp for safe
operation in normal power mode. Do not use it longer ! A lways replace the lamp with the BA RCO lamp kit.
WARNING: U V Radiation Exposure : Never light the lamp if the top-rear cover of the projector is removed.
CAUTION: Do not touch the front glass cover of the lamp with your ngers, since this w ill reduce the lamp
output of the lamp.
If the front glass cover of the lamp has been touched, nger prints can be wiped off using alcohol.
1.2 Recycling guidelines
CAUTION: To avoid breaking the lamps, repack carefully wh en storing and transporting them.

Contact your local w aste disp osal facility for information on the recycling program for HID (High Intensity
Discharge ) lam ps in your area.

2.1 Kit description
Xenon lamp
A xenon lamp use s ionize d x enon gas to produce a bright white light which clos ely s imulates natural bright daylight.
Description
When order ing a lamp, we can distinguish two situations.
A used lamp is returned to Barco at or der time.
In this case, kit R9843087 (Refurbished lamp) can be ordered.
No u sed lamp is returned to Barco at order time.
In this c ase, kit R9843097 (New lamp) can be ordered.
Scope
This kit is designed to be used in the following projectors:

Galaxy NW -12;
NW-12;
Galaxy NH-12;
NH-12;
iD LH-12;
iCon NH-12.

3. Push the lamp to plug in the following connectors (conrm ed by the click sound)
- cathode;
- anode;
- lamp info connector (at the front bottom side of the lamp).

Caution: If the lamp does n’t slide in s moothly,
gently wiggle it until it does.
Since the lam p info connector has some bac klash, it might not be fully in line w ith its plug (especially if the p rojector
is not in table mode) making it hard to get it conn ected. By wiggling the lamp, the correct alignment of the lam p info
connector can be easily achieved.
Caution: Make sure not to push away the projector while pushing the lamp.
4. Fix the lamp by han d tightening bo th two screws.
