Guaran tee and Compensation
Barco provides a guarantee relating to perfect man ufacturing as part of the legally stipulated terms of guarantee. O n receipt, the pu rchaser
must immediately inspect all delivered goods for dam age incurred during transport, as well as for material and manufacturing faults Barc o
must be informed immediately in writing of any complaints.
The period of guarantee begins on the date of transfer of risks, in the case of special systems and software on the date of c omm issioning,
at latest 30 days after the transfer of risks. In the event of justied notice of complaint, Bar co can r epair the fault or provide a replacement
at its own discretion within an appropriate period. If this measure proves to be impossible or unsuccessful, the purchaser can demand a
reduction in the purchase price or c ancellation of the contract. All other claims, in particular those relating to compensa tion for direct or
indirect damage, and also damage attributed to the operation of s oftware as well as to other services provided by Barco, being a component
of the system or independent service, will be deemed invalid provided the dam age is n ot pro ven to be attributed to the absence of properties
guaranteed in writing or due to the intent or gross negligence or p art of Barco.
If the pur chaser or a third party carries out modications
or repairs on goods delivered by Barco, or if the goods are handled incorrectly,
in particular if t he systems are commissioned operated incorrectly or if, after the transfer of risks, the goods are s ubject to inuences not
agreed upon in the contract, all guarantee claims of the purchaser will be r endered invalid. Not included in the guarantee coverage are
system failures which are attributed to programs or s
pecial electronic c ircuitry provided by the pur chaser, e.g. interfaces. Nor mal wear as
well as normal maintenance are not subject to the guarantee provided by Barco either.
The environmental conditions as well as the servicing and m aintenance regulations specied in the this manual m ust be complied with by
the customer.

1. SAFETY
1.1 Safety Guidelines
This procedure is intended for use only by qualied service technicians w ho have been trained and au thorized
by BAR CO !
WARNING: Hot Surface an d Risk o f Explosion:Switch the projector to stand by an d let it cool do wn for at least
15 minutes . These lamps con sist of a quartz arc tube o perating at very high temperature and high pressure
which m ay explode suddenly. There is a risk of personal injury and property damage from hot quartz arc tube
particles if handled incorrectly.
WARNING: Risk of Electrical Shock: Power down the projector and unplug the power cord from the wall
outlet. Once the projector is cooled down and the power is off, continue with the procedure.
WARNING: Lamp Runtime Warning: Do n ot exceed the indicated maximum t otal lifetime of the lamp for sa fe
operation in normal power mode. Do not use it longer ! Always replace the lamp with the BARCO lamp kit.
WARNING: UV Radiation Exposure : Nev er light the lamp if the rear cover (lamp cover) of the projector is
removed, unless you wear UV radiation eye and skin protection.
1.2 Recycling guidelines
WARNING: Do not b reak or crush lamps because thi
s may pose health a nd environmental risks when mercury
vapors are released.
CAUTION: To avoid breaking the lamp s, repack carefully w h en storing and transporting them.
CAUTION: Lamps may not be disposed as normal household trash.
Contact yo ur local waste disposal facility for information on the rec ycling p rog ram for HID (High Intensity
Discharge ) lamps in y our area.

3.1 Reset lamp Runtime
When to reset the lamp runtime ?
Reset the lamp runtime whene ver you replace a lamp
WARNING: Lam p runtime reset as well as the lamp replacement can only be d one by a Barco authorized
technician.
How to reset the lamp runtime ?
1. Press ME NU to activate the Toolbar
2. Press to select the Lamp item
3. Press to P ull down the Lamp m enu
4. Use or to select Reset runtime
5. Press to pull down the menu
6. Use or to select the lamp to be r eset

projector frame)
