1 General information
The needle thread pretension on the machine arm is used to keep the nee-
dle thread under tension, preventing the needle thread from being caught
by the needle at the moment of puncture.
Components of the kit
Check whether the scope of delivery for kit 0967 590054 is correct prior to
installation.
2 Assembling the needle thread pretension

To assemble the needle thread pretension:
1. Tighten the needle thread pretension (2) on the new head cover (1).

2. Loosen the screws (4) and take off the old head cover (3).
3. Tighten the new head cover (1) using the screws (4).
4. Insert the needle thread.
• Insert the needle thread through guide (7).
• Guide the needle thread counterclockwise around the ne
edle
thread pretension (2).
• Insert the needle thread into guide (6) and thread it into the needle
as usual.
5. Align the needle thread pretension (2) in the slotted holes (5).
• The needle thread pretension (2) does not abut on the machine
head.
• The needle thread runs straight between guides (6) and (7).
6. If necessary, adjust the needle thread tension to the needle th
