d:dicate™ 4006ER Omni Microphone, Rear cable
d:dicate™ 4006ES Omni Microphone, Side cable
A combination of the MMC4006 Microphone Capsule and the MMP-E
modular active cable, this mic is part of the modular d:dicate™ Recording
Microphone series. At any time and with no tools necessary it is possible to
transform the basic 4006E Microphone into a new configuration by combin-
ing it with another d:dicate™ Microphone Capsule or Preamplifier.
Suspension mount & windscreen
Suspend the mic in the mount by securing the hook around the notch on the
preamp. Subsequently twist the cable in the spiral-shaped end of the mount.
This allows the Microphone to hang in its own cable and be adjusted to any
direction by bending the boom.
Mount the foam windscreen on the mic head whenever used outdoors or in
air turbulent situations such as close miking voice in order to prevent wind
or pop noise.
Grids
The d:dicate™ 4006E is supplied with three dierent grids that are used to
change characteristics of the microphone acoustically. Be extremely careful
not to touch the exposed diaphragm when switching grids. Do not attempt
to remove dust as it will not aect the performance of the Microphone.

tics of the microphone acoustically. Be extremely careful not to touch the exposed

the performance of the microphone.
The pre-mounted silver near-field grid (DD0251) exhibits neutral frequency response
when used in near sound field (direct sound field).
The black diffuse-field grid (DD0297) offers recording accuracy in diffuse sound
field (far field) by compensating for the neutral high frequency loss caused by air
absorption.
The silver trapezoid close-mic grid (DD0254) subtly rolls off the highest frequencies
to create smoother treble response when close miking sources with bright transient
