Confirmation of PCMCIA Controller
Operation
To ensure that the PCMCIA Controller in Windows 95 is running in 32-bit mode, please follow these instructions:-
NB
DO NOT have the Interface Card inserted in the computer's card slot at this stage.
(1) Turn on your computer.
Windows 95 automatically starts.
(2) Click Start, point to "Settings" and then click "Control Panel".
(3) Double-click the PC Card (PCMCIA) icon.
Either (A) the "PC Card (PCMCIA) Wizard" or (B) the "PC Card (PCMCIA) Properties"
window will appear.
(A) If the "PC Card (PCMCIA) Wizard" window appears

The PCMCIA controller is not running in 32-bit mode, therefore you will need to install the 32-bit driver.
Follow the steps below to install the 32-bit mode Windows driver.
(1) Select "No" and then click Next >.
(2) Select "No" and then click Next >.
(3) Click Finish.
The "System Settings Change" window appears.
(4) Click Yes to exit Windows 95.
The computer will be turned off.
(5) Turn on your computer, restart Windows 95.
B) If the "PC Card (PCMCIA) Properties" window appears

(1) Click Cancel.
After you have confirmed that the PCMCIA controller is running in 32-bit mode, you must install the device drivers
for the CD-ROM Player in Windows 95.
There are two methods for installing the device driver as follows:-
We recommend that you follow "1. How to install the device driver before inserting the supplied Interface
Card ", especially when you wish to install the CD-ROM Player on following computers:-
(A) The computer has only one PC card slot that is connected to floppy disk drive.
(e.g. Toshiba Libretto series, Compaq CONTURA AERO series)
(B) A computer that has SystemSoft CardWorks card manager software installed.
(e.g. Toshiba DynaBook TECRA/Satellite/PORTEGE, Panasonic CF-41)
1. How to install the device driver before inserting the supplied Interface Card

Please ensure that the Interface Card is NOT inserted in the computer's card slot.
(1) Turn on your computer.
Windows 95 automatically starts.
(2) Double-click the Add New Hardware icon in the Control Panel.
The "Add New Hardware Wizard" window appears.
(3) Click Next >.
(4) Select "No", then click Next >.
The hardware option pull-down menu appears.
(5) Select "SCSI controllers", then click Next >.
(6) Click Have Disk….
The "Install From Disk" window appears.
(7) Insert the Setup disk provided into the computer's floppy disk drive, then click OK.

Make sure that the "Panasonic KXLC00#" is displayed in the Models dialog box, then click Next

(9) Click Next >.
(10)Click Finish, and remove the Setup disk from the computer.
This completes the driver installation.
Please connect the CD-ROM Player and your computer, refer to the Operating Instructions.

2. How to install the device driver after inserting the supplied Interface Card
(When "New Hardware Found" window appears)
=========================================================
Make sure that the Interface Cable is connected to the Interface Card and to the CD-ROM Player.
(1) Turn on your computer.
Windows 95 automatically starts.
(2) Turn on the CD-ROM Player. (Except KXL-8XXA series)
(3) Insert the Interface Card into the computer's card slot firmly.
The "New Hardware Found" window appears.
(4) Select “Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer” then click OK.
The “Install from disk” window appears.
(5) Insert the supplied Setup disk into the computer's floppy disk drive, and click OK.
The initial screen appears and the driver has been installed..
(6) Remove the Setup disk from the computer.
2.1 How to install the device driver after inserting the supplied Interface Card
(When "Update Device Driver Wizard" window appears)

Make sure that the Interface Cable is connected to the Interface Card and to the CD-ROM Player.
(1) Turn on your computer.
Windows 95 automatically starts.
(2) Turn on the CD-ROM Player. (Except KXL-8XXA series)
(3) Insert the Interface Card into the computer's card slot firmly.
The "Update Device Driver Wizard" window appears.
(4) Insert the supplied Setup disk into the computer's floppy disk drive, and click Next >.
(5) Click Finish.
The "Insert Disk" window appears.
(6) Click OK.
The "Copying Files..." window appears.
(7) Enter the drive name in "Copying files from: ", where the Setup disk is inserted in.
(If you are using drive A, enter " a: ".)
(8) Click OK.

The installation will complete after the driver is copied and "Update Device Driver Wizard" window
disappears.
(9) Remove the Setup disk from the computer.
