The board conformstoPC/104specificationsforthe four corners and four mounting holes.Wings, or
extensions on the left and right sides, provide additional room for I/O connectors.The wings extend
0.25”pastthestandardPC/104boardedgesasshownintheFigure1below.
The connector and jumper
layout is provided in Figures 1 and 2 below.This layout enables most
connectors to be positioned in the board wings and also provides sufficient clearance for the mating
connectorswhenlatchingconnectorsareused.AllI/OconnectorsareverticalexceptforthepowerI/O,
externalbatteryandoptionalRJ45.

provided for extra current carrying capacity if needed.Each pin is rated at 3A max.For applications
requiring less than 3A, the first 4 pins may be connected to a standard 4pin miniature PC power
connector,orthealternatepowerI/Oconnectormaybeused.
I/OPOWERCONNECTOR(IO_P1)
This connector provides an alternate connector for either input power to the system oroutput power
forusewithexternaldrives.

Follow these stepstopower onandverify the functionality of the PegasusSBC.This process assumes
youhaveaPegasusSBCandcablekit.
1. ConnectaVGAmonitortotheSBC.AttachtheVGAcable,6981084,totheVGAconnectoronthe
SBCandconnectyourmonitorVGAcabletotheDB9socket.
2. ConnectakeyboardandmousetotheSBC.AttachthePS/2Keyboard/Mousecable,6981162,to
thePS/2connectorontheSBCandconnectyourkeyboardandmousedevicestotheconnectors
ontheotherendofthecable.
3. (OptionalforUSBKeyboard/Mouse)IfyouareusingaUSBkeyboardandmouse,attachtheUSB
cable,6981171,totheUSB01connectorontheSBCandconnectyourkeyboardandmouse
devicestotheconnectorsontheotherendofthecable.
4. ConnectanexternalIDEharddriveorCDdevicetotheSBC.AttachtheIDEribboncable,
6981004,totheIDE/FlashdiskconnectorontheSBCandconnectyourIDEdevicetothe
connectorontheotherendofthecable.Note:youmustprovideanexternalsourceofpower
foryourIDEdevice.
5. (OptionalforUSBstoragedevice)IfyouareusingaUSBstoragedevice,attachtheUSBcable,
6981171,totheUSB01(USB23ifusingaUSBkeyboardandmouse)connectorontheSBCand
connectyourexternalstoragedevicetotheUSB0(USB2ifusingaUSBkeyboardandmouse)
connectorontheotherendofthecable.
6. ConnecttheSBCtopower.AttachthePowerIncable,6981175,tothePowerInconnectoron
theSBC.Ensureyour+5Vpowersourceisoff.Connectyour+5Vpowersourcetotheotherend
ofthecable.
7. Turnonthepowersource.
The Pegasus BIOS screen should appear and then the SBC should begin booting from the external
storagedevice.
BIOSCONFIGURATIONFORADDONBOARDS
Whenyouplug PC/104boardsontoPegasus,theBIOSmayormay notrecognize thenewboard.Ifthe
new board is not recognized, you may need to configure the new hardware in the BIOS before being
able to use it.You can configure the system’s IRQ/DMA resources from the BIOS’s PnP/PCI

supportedIDEdevicesincludetheonboardflashdisk,aCompactFlashdisk,aflashdiskpluginmoduleon
theIDEconnector,orexternalIDEdevices.Youcanconfigurethesystem’sIDEdevicesfromtheBIOS’s
StandardCMOSFeaturesscreen.Manydeviceshaveonboardjumpersforconfiguringitselfasamaster
