The lightning flash with arrow-head symbol within an equilateral triangle
is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated “dangerous
voltage” within the unit’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude
to constitute a risk of electric shock.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert
the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance
(servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the unit.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
All of the safety and operating instructions should be read, adhered to and followed
before the unit is operated.
1. Read these instructions.
2. Keep these instructions.

5. Do not use this unit near water.
6. Clean only with a dry cloth.
7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions.
8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves,
or other unit (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug.
A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding-
type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the
third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into
your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at
plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where it exits from the unit.
11. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
12. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table specified by the
manufacturer, or sold with the unit. When a cart is used, use caution
when moving the cart/unit combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

CAUTION
• The unit should not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled
with liquids, such as vases, should be placed on unit.
• The main plug is used to disconnect the unit if you do not want it to remain
readily operable. In order to disconnect the unit from the main plug, it should
be pulled from the outlet completely.
• The battery should not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine,
fire or the like.

WARNING

3. Unplug this unit during lightning storms or when unused for long
periods of time.

BATTERY PRECAUTIONS
• Dispose of old batteries properly. Do not dispose of old batteries
in a fire.
• Do not leave batteries where a child or pet could play with or swallow them.
If a battery is swallowed, contact a physician immediately.
• The battery may explode if mistreated. Do not attempt to recharge
or disassemble.
• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type. Do not mix old
and new batteries, different types of batteries, or rechargeable batteries
of different capacities.

REMOTE BATTERY INSTALLATION
For first use, remove the insulating pull-tab inside the BATTERY COMPARTMENT
to engage the battery contacts of the included CR2025 button cell battery.
To replace a spent battery in the remote, slide out the BATTERY COMPARTMENT
TRAY located on the back of the remote control.
Insert one new CR2025 battery according to the polarity indicator on the TRAY.
Replace the BATTERY COMPARTMENT TRAY.
ADJUSTING THE DOCK SUPPORT
Insert the DOCK SUPPORT
on the top of the main unit
(see to the right).
You may adjust the DOCK SUPPORT by turning the knob on the back to move
it forwards and backwards to support iPod/iPhone or iPad device.
IMPORTANT: Make sure the DOCK SUPPORT is adjusted correctly to support
your device securely. The DOCK SUPPORT should make enough contact with the
rear of the iPod/iPhone/iPad to fully support it without pushing the device too far
forward. If your device is not secure against the DOCK SUPPORT, it may damage
the 30-pin connector on the main unit or your device.

BASIC OPERATION OF THE SPEAKER
CONNECTING THE MAIN UNIT TO POWER
Insert the included adapter’s DC output plug into the DC-IN jack on the back
of the main unit. Plug the adapter into an electrical outlet.
TURNING THE UNIT ON AND OFF
1. Press the POWER/STANDBY button on the remote or the MODE button
on top of the main unit to turn the unit on.
2. To turn the unit off, press the POWER/STANDBY button on the remote
or press and hold the MODE button on the unit.
USING MODE
Press the AUX/iPod button on the remote or press the MODE button on the unit
to switch between iPod Mode and AUX Mode.
ADJUSTING THE VOLUME
Press the VOLUME +/– button on the remote control or on the unit to adjust
the volume to the desired level.
USING MUTE
When listening to audio, press the MUTE button on the remote to silence
the audio (the LED indicator on the main unit will begin flashing). Press the
MUTE button again, or press the VOLUME +/– button to resume the audio.

COMPATIBILITY
Note: Due to software limitations, the unit will only charge the iPod classic
(2009). Earlier versions of the iPod classic will not charge.
LISTENING TO YOUR iPod/iPhone OR iPad DEVICE
1. Press the POWER/STANDBY button on the remote or press the MODE button
on the top of the main unit to turn the unit on.
2. Press the iPod/AUX button on the remote control or press the MODE button
on the main unit to select iPod function. If the iPod/iPhone or iPad device is
connected, the unit will start playback. The device will be charged automatically
until it is fully charged.
3. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button on the remote to control play and
pause functions.
4. Press the LEFT/RIGHT button on the remote to select the previous
or next song.
5. Press the VOLUME + / VOLUME button on the main unit or remote
to adjust the volume as desired.

CONTROL YOUR iPod MENU BY REMOTE CONTROL
1. Press the MENU button on the remote control. The iPod player will go
to the previous menu.
2. Press the UP/DOWN button on the remote control to select the iPod menu,
then press the ENTER button to enter the selected menu.
Note: This function is not supported by iPad.
CHARGE YOUR iPod/iPhone OR iPad DEVICE
When the iPod/iPhone or iPad device is docked to the unit, it will charge
automatically in STANDBY mode, iPod Mode, and AUX Mode.
AUX-IN FUNCTION
1. Connect an MP3 player to the AUX-IN jack using a 3.5mm to 3.5mm
cable (not included).
2. Press the POWER/STANDBY button on the remote or the MODE button
on the main unit to turn the unit on.
3. Once the AUX-IN cable is connected with your audio device and your
speaker system, turn your auxiliary source on and operate it as usual.
4. Press the iPod/AUX button on the remote or press the MODE button
on the unit to select the AUX function. The sound from the auxiliary
source will be heard through the speakers of this system.
5. Press the VOLUME +/– to adjust the volume level.

RESETTING THE UNIT
If the system does not respond, the unit may need to be reset.
Disconnect the unit from the electrical outlet, wait a few seconds,
and reconnect it to reset the unit.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
• Disconnect the unit from the power source when cleaning.
• If the unit becomes dusty, wipe it with a soft and dry duster.
• Do not use any wax, polish sprays, or abrasive cleaners on the unit.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Sound is not clear
or there is no sound.
Check iPod/iPhone/iPad device connection.
Confirm the unit is in iPod mode.
No power. Check the power adapter and cable.
Sound is too faint/
too much distortion.
Press the volume button to adjust sound level.
Adjust the volume of connected music device.
Unit does not respond
to the remote control.
Move the remote control closer to the unit.
ISSUE SOLUTION
The remote’s batteries are low.
Replace the remote’s batteries.
There may be an obstruction between the
remote and the unit. Move the remote to
a more direct line to the unit.

Due to software limitations, the unit will
only charge the iPod classic (2009). Earlier
versions of the iPod classic will not charge.

ONE (1) YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

warrants this product against defects in materials and/or workmanship
under normal use for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of purchase by the
original purchaser (“Warranty Period”). If a defect arises and a valid claim is received
within the Warranty Period, at its option, Brookstone will either 1) repair the defect
at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, or 2) replace the product
with a new product that is at least functionally equivalent to the original product, or
3) provide a store credit in the amount of the purchase price of the original product.
A replacement product or part, including a user-installable part installed in accordance
with instructions provided by Brookstone, assumes the remaining warranty of the
original product. When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes
your property and the replaced item becomes Brookstone’s property. When a store
credit is given, the original product must be returned to Brookstone and becomes
Brookstone’s property.
Obtaining Service: To obtain warranty service, call Brookstone Limited Warranty Service at
1-800-292-9819. Please be prepared to describe the product that needs service and
the nature of the problem. A purchase receipt is required. All repairs and replacements
must be authorized in advance. Service options, parts availability and response times
will vary. You are responsible for delivery and the cost of delivery of the product or any
parts to the authorized service center for replacement, per our instructions.
Limits and Exclusions: Coverage under this Limited Warranty is limited to the United
States of America, including the District of Columbia and the U.S. Territories of
Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This Limited Warranty applies only
to products manufactured for Brookstone that can be identified by the Brookstone”
trademark, trade name, or logo affixed to them or their packaging. The Limited
Warranty does not apply to any non-Brookstone products. Manufacturers or
suppliers other than Brookstone may provide their own warranties to the purchaser,

but Brookstone, in so far as permitted by law, provides these products “as is.
This warranty does not apply to: a) damage caused by failure to follow instructions
relating to product’s use or the installation of components; b) damage caused by
accident, abuse, misuse, fire, floods, earthquake or other external causes; c) damage
caused by service performed by anyone who is not a representative of Brookstone;
d) accessories used in conjunction with a covered product; e) a product or part
that has been modified to alter functionality or capability; f) items intended to be
periodically replaced by the purchaser during the normal life of the product including,
without limitation, batteries or light bulbs; g) any product sold “as is” including, without
limitation, floor demonstration models and refurbished items; or h) a product that is
used commercially or for a commercial purpose.
BROOKSTONE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT, OR ARISING
OUT OF ANY BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY
APPLICABLE LAW, BROOKSTONE DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL STATUTORY OR
IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES
OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND
WARRANTIES AGAINST HIDDEN OR LATENT DEFECTS. IF BROOKSTONE
CANNOT LAWFULLY DISCLAIM STATUTORY OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, THEN
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALL SUCH WARRANTIES SHALL BE
LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS EXPRESS WARRANTY.
