(images C1, C2)
It is possible that the grinder shaft can be-
come blocked during the grinding process. In
this case, clean the grinder shaft (13):
1. Press the locking button (on the
sym-
bol) with a sharp object and pull the lid for-
wards (image C1).
2. Clean the grinder shaft (13) with the
cleaning brush supplied (image C2).
3. Press the locking button and push the lid
back onto the grinder shaft.
Descaling
In order not to impair the service life of the
appliance and the quality of the coffee, the
appliance has to be descaled at regular inter-
vals. The descaling intervals depend on the
water hardness. We recommend descaling
after every 70 brewings or so, if the
symbol appears on the display.
1.
Fill the water tank with water to the 10
mark and citric acid or vinegar essence (ap-
proximately 5 % acidic solution).
2. Press the
button (26) and allow a
cup full to run through.
3. Interrupt the brewing process for 10 min-
utes and allow the entire descaling solution
to run through.
4. Empty the thermos jug (7).
5.
Allow two tank fills of clear water to run
through the appliance for rinsing.
6. Wash all removable parts with warm
water and washing-up liquid before brewing
coffee again.
NOTE
► If you use a commercially available
descaling agent, observe the manufac-
turer's instructions for use.
► If the appliance is severely scaled, it
may be necessary to repeat the descaling
process.
Storage
If you do not intend to use the appliance for a
longer period of time, switch it off and pull the
plug out of the mains socket. Clean the ap-
pliance as described in the section Cleaning
and maintenance (pag. 20).
Store the appliance and all accessory parts
at a dry, clean and frost-free location which is
protected against direct sunlight.
