Making Coffee with a Preset Time
To make coffee with a preset time, the clock needs to be set (see the “Handling and
Operation” chapter – “Setting the Time”).
1. Prepare the coffee machine, pour in coffee beans or coffee powder, fi ll the water tank and
insert the permanent fi lter (16) or a fi lter paper and select a brewing option (see the “Han-
dling and Operation” chapter).
2. Set the desired brewing option (see the “Handling and Operation” chapter – “Setting the
Brewing Option”).
3. Press the PROG (programme) button (21) and hold it down. The PROG (programme)
control lamp fl ashes. The most recently set starting time and the STARTZEIT (starting
time) symbol appear in the display. The hours fl ash.
If the device was disconnected from the mains power, the time 19:99 appears on the
display instead of the starting time which was last set. In this case, fi rst press the ZEIT
(time) button (18). The time 12:00 then appears on the display and the STARTZEIT
(starting time) symbol lights up. The hours fl ash.
4. Set the hours by repeatedly pressing the ZEIT (time) button.
5. Wait for approx. 3 seconds until the minutes fl ash.
6. Set the minutes by repeatedly pressing the ZEIT (time) button.
7. Release the PROG (programme) button. The display shows the current time. The starting
time for the preselected time is saved.
For preparation with coffee powder the function for coffee beans has to be deactivated
and the MAHLEN & BRÜHEN (grinding & brewing) (19) control light must be off. If
this is not the case, press the MAHLEN & BRÜHEN (grinding & brewing) button to
deactivate the function.
8. Press the PROG (programme) button again to activate the preset time. The PROG (pro-
gramme) control lamp lights up. The preset time is activated.
Once the set time has been reached the brewing process starts automatically. The time 0:00
and the BRÜHZEIT (brewing time) symbol appear in the display.
The time display shows how
many minutes ago the brewing process started.
9. Press the I / O (7) button to switch the device to the stand-by mode. The operating lamp
goes out. In the display, the BRÜHZEIT (brewing time) symbol goes out and the display
switches to the current time.
Deactivating the Preset Time
To deactivate the preset time setting, press the PROG (programme) button (21). The PROG
(programme) control lamp goes out and the programming is deactivated. However, the preset
time is retained and can be reactivated at any time until a new preset time is programmed in or
the device has been disconnected from the power supply.
