The main advantage of WiFi is
that it eliminates the need for
cables. The major disadvantage
is that wireless communications
are dicult to secure.
đŏSSID (Network Name):
A string of up to 32 alphanumerical characters used to identify a wireless network
(WLAN) and enable one or more computers and/or peripherals to connect to it.
đŏWPA(Wireless Key) :
An encryption protocol based onTKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol), which will
eventually replace WEP. One of the strengths of TKIP is its use of dynamic keys,
which are dicult to decrypt.
Recommandations
đŏIn order to avoid impairing the performance of your Internet connection, install your
Box in a well ventilated area, away from high-powered electrical equipment or radio

computer or Box, and disconnect your computers, modems and routers from the

WiFi connectivity
If you have a WiFi-capable desktop computer, laptop computer or video-game
console, or if your Box is not easily accessible:
WiFi connectivity allows for mobility, and eliminates the need for cables. Note:
Although high-speed wireless connections are now possible, WiFi cannot match the
stability, security and performance of a wired Ethernet connection.
Configuring your Box’s WiFi settings
đŏWiFi is deactivated by default - When WiFi is activated, your data will be secured
using the WPA/WPA2 protocol.
đŏYour WiFi Network Name, the authentication key format and Wireless Key
are printed on the label (K) on the back of your Box and can also be found in
your MyMT account.
If you change these settings during the activation process, remember to save
the new settings.
