When! working! with! Vinc iL a b! as! a! standalone! device! VinciLab! is! controlled! by! its! touch!

screen!and!Coach!is!running!on!VinciLab .!!!

Turn!VinciLab!on!by!pressing!its!power!button.!Wait!until!the!Home!Screen!appears.!!

• Ensure!VinciLab!has!suf ficient!battery!power!or!is!connected!to!a!power!supply.!!

• On!the!Home!Screen!tap! !to!open!the!Coach!Application.!

• Connect! sensor(s)!t o!the!s ensor!input(s)!of!VinciLab.!!!

• Create!a!new !Co a ch!Re s ul t:!! ! Or!open!an!existing!Coach!Activity/Result:!!

Tap! !or! tap! !and! select! New.! When!

you! want! to! use! only! the! internal! Sound!

sensor!select!New+(Sound+Only).+!!!

A!new!Result!opens.!!

To!select!a!sensor!from!the!

Sensor! Library! go! to! Sensors+ Screen,! tap!

sensor! input! tab! to! which! the! sensor! is!

connected,! tap! Choose! (or! None)+ and!

select!a!sensor!from!the!list.!

Tap! !or! tap! !and! sel ect! Open! or+ Open+

CMA+Project….! Browse!to!select!the!desired!

Activity/Result.!Confirm!with! .!

The!Activity/Result!opens.!!

- Coach ! automatically! detects! and! iden tifies!

the! connected! sensor(s).! If! the! identified!

sensor! is!different! from! the!sensor! defined!

in! the!Activity/Result!then!the! sensor! listed!

on! the! Activity! Screen! is! displayed! in! red.!

The!sensor!digital!display!shows!information!

about! the! sensor! defined! i n! the! Activity!

(red)!and!the!sensor! identified!by! VinciLab.!

Connect! the!defined! sensor!or!chan ge!it!into!

the! detected!sensor!by! touching! Exchange.!

This! feature! is! not! available! for! sensors,!

which!cannot!be!identified.!!

• Tap! !to!check! the!live!r eadings!of!the! sensors.! The!live!data!are!not!stored!in!Vin ciLab’s!

memory.!

• You! are! ready! to! start! a! measurement.! The! measurement!will!be! executed! according! to!

the!given!measurement!settings.!Tap! !to!check!or!change!these!settings.! !

• Tap! !to!start!collecting!data.!!!

o In!most!cases,!Coach!directly!starts!the!measurement.!!

o If! triggering!is!enabled!then!the!measurement!is! started! automatically!when!the!trigger!

conditions!are!met.!

o For!a ! Manual! measurement! tap! !to! collect!a!single!measurement.!When! keyboard!

input!is!requested!then!the!value!of!one!or!more!quantities!has!to!be!typed!in.!

• The!measurement!stops!when!the!specified!measurement!time!(time-based)!or!specified!

number!of!samples!(manual)!has!been!reached.!Tap! !to!interrupt!the!measurement.!!

• To!save!your!Result!go!to! ,!tap! !or!tap! !an d!select!Save!or!Save+As….!!

Warning:!

When!tapping! !and!starting!a!new!data! collecti on,!existing!data!is!overwrit ten!by!!

the!new!data!without!any!warning.!To!avoid!losing!any!data!save!your !Result!first.!

VinciLab! can!be!used! as! a! lab ! interface! connected!(via! USB! or! Wi-Fi)!t o! computers! (Mac! and!

Windows),!tablets!(iPad,!Android)!and!Chromebooks.!Coach!7!and!Coach!7!Lite!programs!and!

apps!support!such !measurements.!!

1.+CONNECTING+VINCILAB+FOR+THE+FIRST+TIME++

Before!you!start!to!use!VinciLab!with!the!computer!via!the!USB!cable!we!recommend!to!first!

install!the!latest!version!of!the!Coach!7!or!Coach!7!program!on!your!computer.!In!most!cases!

the!VinciLab!installation! is!automatically!executed!the!first!time!VinciLab!is!connected! to!the!

USB! port! of! the! computer.! After! successful! installation! VinciLab! is! shown! under! Network!

adapters!(Windows)/Ethernet! cards!(MAC).! If! the! driver! is! not! successfully! installed! or! there!

are! problems!w ith!communication!between! VinciLab!and!computer! c onsult!the!VinciLab!User’s!

2.+USING+VINCILAB+FO R+DATA+COLLECTION+WITH+A +COMPUTER+AND+A+TABLET+

Coach!7!and!Coach!7!Lite,!as!well!for!deskto ps!

as! for! tablets,! support! measurements! with!

VinciLab.! During! s uch! measurement! Vinc iLa b!

stays! connected! to! the! computer/tablet! via! a!

USB! cable! or! communicates! wirelessly! via! Wi-

Fi.! The! collected! d ata! are! transferred! in! real-

time!to!the!computer/tablet!and!the!course!of!

the! measurement! can! be! followed! directly! on!

the! computer/tablet! screen.! The! VinciLab!

screen!is!inactive!and!displays!the!image!shown!

3.+TRANSFERRING+FILES+BETWEEN+VINCILAB+AND+A+COMPUTER+

Files,!can! be!transferred!between!a!computer/tablet!and!the!folder!‘My!files’!on!VinciLab!via:!!

• the! USB! connectio n.! To! get! access! to! VinciLab! in! Windows! Explorer! or! in! Mac! Finder,!

VinciLab!needs!to!be!first!moun ted!as!a!n etwork !loc ati on.!!

• a!USB!stick!memory.!Insert!y our!USB!stick!into!th e!USB!port!of!Vi nciLab.!!

• an! e-mail,! files! can! be! attached! and! send! from! VinciLab.! For! t his! VinciLab! has! to! be!

connected!to!a!network.!!

4.+DISPLAYING+THE+VINCILAB’S+SCREEN+ON+A+COMPUTER+OR+A+MOBILE+DEVICE+

VinciLab!offers!Dat a!Share! via!Virtual !Network!Computing! (VNC),!wh ich!makes!possible!to!view!

the! V inciLab! screen! on! any! computer! or! a! mobile! device.! The! VNC! protocol! can! run! via! a!

network!connection!but! also! via!a! U SB! connection.!To!allow!this!a!VNC!Viewer!program!needs!

to!be! installed!on!the! controlling!device!and!r emote!connection!has!to!be!established!between!

the!devices.!Such!VNC!Viewers!are!freely!available!for!all!platforms.!
