• Checkthevehicleandthespeedcontroller/motorfordamage.Ifyounoticeanydamage,do
notanylongeroperatethevehicleorthespeedcontroller/motor.
• Beforerechargingthebatteryithastobedisconnectedfromthespeedcontroller.
• Handletheproductwithcare;itcanbedamagedbyimpacts,blowsorfallsevenfromalow
height.
• Do not carelessly leave the packaging material lying around, since it could become a
dangerousplaythingforchildren.
• Ifyouhavedoubtsabouthowtheproductshouldbeoperatedorhowtosafelyconnectit,

Installation
• Iftheproductistobeusedasareplacementforanexistingcontrolunit/motor,thenrstremovetheold
componentsfromyourmodel.
• Mountapiniongearsuitableforthedrivegearaswellastheshaftdiameterofthenewmotortothedrive
shaftofthebrushlessmotor.Thepiniongearisgenerallyafxedwithagrubscrew.
Warning!
Ensurethatthegrubscrewsitsexactlyontheattenedsideofthe
driveshaftandisscrewedtight inthatposition(seetheschematic
diagramontheright,withoutthegear)otherwisethepiniongearwill
quicklyloosen.
Theexactpositionofthepiniongearonthedriveshaftmustbedeterminedafterthemotoris
mounted.Thus,onlytightenthepiniongearlightlyinitially.
• Mountthemotorinyourvehicleandscrewitintoplace.Onlyusesuitablescrewsthatcannotprotrude
toofarintothemotor.Aftermounting,alwayscheckiftherotorinthemotorcanbeeasilyrotatedandthat
nogrindingsoundscanbeheard.Ifthisisnotobserved,themotorcanbedamaged;lossofwarranty!
Thedistancebetweenthepiniongearandthedrivegearwillbesetlater,itiscurrentlynot
important.
• Nowcheckthatthepiniongearcomesintoexactcontactwiththedrivegearandisnot
skewedtotheside.
Warning!
Theexactpositionofthepiniongearisveryimportant,itmustnotbeskewed
tothesideasotherwisethedrivegearwillbedamaged(thetransferofpower
occursoverasmallerarea).
• Correctthemountingpositionofthepiniongearonthedriveshaft;themotormayhave
tobedismountedagain.
Onlywhen the pinion gear sits exactly parallel onthedriveshaftshouldthegrubscrewbe
tightenedrmly.Thefasteningscrewofthemotorpiniongearmustbesecuredagainstcoming
looseusingthreadlocker.
• Afterthecorrectmountingofthepiniongearonthedriveshaftofthemotor,thecorrectdistancebetween
thepiniongearandthedrivegearmustnowbeset.
Generally,whendealingwithmotormounts,onemountholewillberoundandtheotherwillbeoblong.
Themotoristhusattachedwiththescrewintheroundholeandcanbeadjustedwiththeoblonghole.
• Loosenbothscrewsalittle,sothatthemotorcanbeturnedwithasmallamountofforce.
Thedistancebetweenthepiniongearandthedriveshaftshouldnotbetoosmallandshould
alsonotbetoolarge,asthedrivegearwillbedamagedotherwise.
Thedistanceissetcorrectlywhentheanksofthegearsengagefullyandthedrivecanbero-
tatedwithoutincreasedeffort.Alwayscheckthemotorattachmentandthepositionofthemotor
piniongearinrelationtothemaingearaftertherstdrives.
Incorrectadjustmentscanbenoticedasincreasedwearofthemotorpiniongear/maingear.
• Screwthemotortightwhenitisinthecorrectposition.
• Nowmountthecontrolunitinthevehiclechassis.Choosealocationwhichisasfaraspossiblefromthe
receiver.Thecontrolunitshouldalsonotbedirectlynexttothemotor.Whendoingso,makesurethat
theloweroftheredandgreenLEDmountedbelowthethreemotorconnectioncablescanstillbeseen
whenmounted.
• Connectthecablesofthespeedcontrollerwiththecablesofthemotor;payattentiontopossiblecolour
coding.Thisensuresthattheforwards/backwardsmovementofthemotorandofthespeedcontroller
correspond.
Iflaterthemotor'srotationdirectionisincorrect(dependingonthevehicle'stransmission),then
simplyswapthetwomotorconnections.Themotorthenrotatesintheotherdirection.
• ForattachingthespeedcontrolleraVelcrostrapordouble-sidedadhesivetapecanbeused.
• Checktoseeifthefourmountingscrewsofthefanaretight(alsocheckthisregularlyafterusingthe
vehicle).
Important!
Themotorcontainedinthesetisonlysuitableforoperationwitha2-cellLiPobattery(nominal
voltage7.4V)ora4-to6-cellNiMHbattery(nominalvoltage4.8-7.2V).
Ifyouconnectabatterywithmorecellstothespeedcontroller,thespeedcontrollerand/orthe
motorwillbedamaged.Thewarrantywillbevoid!
Ifyouconnectadifferentmotorthatissuitableformorecellstothespeedcontroller,always
payattentiontotheturnsofthemotor;seetable.Furthermore,youmustreplacethefanonthe
speedcontrolleragainstanotherversionthatcanfunctionwithhighervoltages.Non-adherence
willcausedamagetothefanand/orspeedcontroller!Thewarrantywillbevoid!
• Theon/offbuttonwiththeprogrammingbuttonistobeattachedsothatitcanbeeasilyoperated.Thisalso
requiresattachmentwithVelcroordouble-sidedtapeorsimilar.
• Positionallcablessothattheycannotbecomeentangledinrotatingormovingpartsofthevehicle.Use
cabletiestoafxthem,forexample.

controllerisnotusedforshortperiods,itcanbedeactivatedviatheOn/Offswitch.
• Alwaysturnonthetransmitterrstbeforeconnectingthespeedcontrollerwiththebattery
andswitchingiton!
Beforeturningoffthetransmitter,turnoffthespeedcontrollerand,ifnecessary,separateit
fromthebattery.
• ThespeedcontrolleralongwiththemotorsuppliedcanbeusedwithNiMH/NiCdbatteriesas
wellasLiPobatteries.Theadmissiblenumberofcells,etc.canbefoundinthetableinthe
chapter"TechnicalData".
• Onlyoperatethespeedcontrollerwithabatterypack,butneverwithapoweradapter.
• Depending on the application (on-road or off-road) and track surface (tarmac, sand,
grass),differentcurrentvaluesmust be observedforoperation.Pleasenote thetechnical
specicationsintheseoperatinginstructions.Nonobservanceofthelimitvaluesmaydestroy
motorand/orspeedcontroller.Thewarrantywillbevoid!
• The motor as well as the speed controller and the battery can become very hot during
operation.Riskofburns!
• Make sure that body parts or objects are kept away from rotating parts when handling
vehicles.Riskofinjury!
• Onlyconnectonesinglebrushlessmotortothespeedcontroller.
• Thebrushlessspeedcontrollerisnotsuitablefortheoperationofconventionalelectricmotors
withtwoconnections!
• Keep the biggest possible distance between receiver and speed controller/motor for the
installation,toavoidinteraction.
• Donotinstallthereceiver'santennacableparalleltothecurrent-carryingcables.
• Donotbundletheantennacableofyourreceiver,butuse,e.g.,anantennatubethatprotrudes
verticallyfromthevehicle.
• Alwaysswitchonthetransmitterrstandbringitsoperatingleverforthemotorfunctionto
theneutralposition(motoroff).Onlyafterthat,connectthespeedcontrollertothebattery
packandswitchiton.Whenswitchingoff,proceedinreverseorder;rstswitchoffthespeed
controlleranddisconnectitfromthebattery,thenswitchoffthetransmitter.
• Duringoperationofthemodel,sufcientcoolinghastobeprovidedforthespeedcontroller
aswellasthemotor.Nevercoverthecoolingelementandthefanofthespeedcontroller!
• Checkthefunctionofthefaneverytimeyouswitchiton;donotobstructthefanandremove
dustanddirtfromthefan,whichmayhaveaccumulatede.g.,duetousingthevehicle.
