PARTIAL
CONNECTION
Enter the 5 figure code, warning lights A-B-C light-up, press buttons A-B-C of the zones
required to be excluded, the respective LED goes off, press the RED button
DISCONNECTION
Enter the 5 figure code, warning lights A-B-C light-up, press the GREEN button
Erroneous entry can be cancelled by pressing ESC. After 8 erroneous connection and/or disconnection
attempts the keypad is blocked for 30 seconds and all LEDs blink.
After each total connection operation, transmission to the control unit and the confirmation response are
displayed; the keypad emits 3 Beeps and all LEDs of the connected zone remain ON for 30 seconds.
After each partial connection operation, transmission to the control unit and the confirmation response
are displayed; the keypad emits a long Beep and all LEDs of the connected zone remain ON for 30
seconds.
After each disconnection operation, transmission to the control unit and the confirmation response are
displayed: the keypad emits a Beep and all zone LEDs remain OFF.
BUTTONS DSCRIPTION
1-9
Numeric buttons for entering codes.
A-B-C
Control unit zones buttons for partial connection.
F1
Radio control. Programmed on R1R receivers, it transmits to the latter a
step by step
command.
F2
Radio control. Suitably programmed on the control unit, it allows actuating alarms,
telephone
actuations and/or calls. Programmed on R1R radio receivers, they transmit
to the latter a
monostable (timed) command.
!
Panic alarm. It sends a panic alarm to the control unit
ESC
Escape button. It deletes erroneous code entry
?
Queries control unit. If pressed it queries the control unit; Upon elapse of the transmission
and response awaiting period, displayed by special red LEDs, the LED
s of the connected
zones light up. If none of the LEDs light up, the system is disconnected.

Disconnection of the control unit
SIGNALS DESCRIPTION
A-B-C
They Indicate the three intrusion alarm zones
and light up when the respective zone is
connected
It indicates that the keypad is transmitting radio signals
It indicates, upon disconnection, the presence of a new event. Check t
he control unit events
memory
It indicates, upon connection, the presence of possible protected doors/windows left open
It indicates, upon connection or disconnection, that the keypad batteries are low (to
be
replaced within 7 days)
It indicates awaiting the confirmation command from the control unit
Programming
Assigning keypad to the control unit. After supplying power to the keypad the buzzer beeps and all
LEDs blink: (connect and) disconnect the control unit within 60 seconds. Upon disconnection the control
unit is linked to the keypad, confirmed by 6 beeps of the buzzer and by the LEDs going off.
Programming and deletion of 5 figure codes for connecting and disconnecting the control unit:
the operation is performed on the control unit as indicated in the respective manual.
Programming Panic and Tamper alarms: set the control unit in programming on zone 24H PANIC or
24H ROBBERY according to the required alarm. Hold the panic button (!) pressed for 10 seconds: the
control unit confirms (beep) successful programming. Also the tamper alarm of the keypad is
programmed in this manner. Opening the keypad or removing it from the wall triggers the control unit
alarm.
Programming button F2: set the control unit in programming on zone 24H PANIC or 24H ROBBERY
according to the required alarm and press the button for 10 seconds. The control unit confirms (beep)
successful programming
Using the keypad to control radio receivers
The AF979R-DB keypad dialogues via radio with the R1R receivers for controlling general loads, sending step
by step commands through button F1 or monostable (timed) commands through button F2. Furthermore, it
dialogues with RT1R receivers to control roller shutter motors, sending timed commands. The keypad may
serve both purposes (burglar alarm and controlling receivers) in the same system due to a simple choice of
code:
The five figure code (100.000 combinations) is intended for burglar alarm applications.
A code with up to 4 figures allows to control up to 10.000 receivers
It is thus possible to associate to the load to be commanded, and hence the respective receiver, an easily
memorisable number of codes. Example, using the R1R receiver: entrance light 1, external lights 20, staircase
lights 600, etc.
After suitably memorising the codes of the keypad in the memory of the receiver, the keypad shall operate as
follows:
Receiver code (max 4 figures) + Red button: receiver output ON
Receiver code (max 4 figures) + Green button: receiver output OFF
For all details regarding this application, see the receivers manual.
