Applications
Novopeldaño® 1p is a prole designed to be placed as a stair nosing. Its striated face side helps to fulll
with the DB-SUA (Basic Document of Security in usage and Accessibility) from CTE (Spanish Technical
Building Code) because improves the value of slip resistance of the oor where it is installed.
The Technical Guide of Accessibility in building 2001, also recommends the installation of visual and
tactile elements at the beginning and the ending of stairs to favor the accessibility of people with
reduced visibility.
Novopeldaño® 1p is ideal for public areas such as airports, hotels, hospitals, etc. and for its installation
in homes. Its easiness of placement, without need of work, makes it specially indicated for reform
works and facilities improvements.
Materials
Aluminum Novopeldaño® 1p is a prole made by extrusion of aluminium. Lacquered nish obtains a high quality
and homogeneus surface. The lacquering has the quality seal Qualicoat, which guarantees the quality
of the process and the nal products.
The aluminium is a material with excellent chemical, physical and mechanical properties. It is lightweight,
tough, ductile, malleable and highly durable.
PVC
PVC (polyvinyl chloride), is a polar amorphous thermoplastic polymer highly resistant to abrasion,
corrosion and a wide range of chemical products. Has a good resistance to impact, low water absorption,
low electrical conductivity and is dimensionally stable.

* In this graph you can see the comparison between the Rd of the ooring without Novopeldaño® 1p and the Rd of the
ooring with the prole installed. The different areas that conform different classes have been delimited to see clearly the
improvement obtained of Rd and of ooring class.
* With the help of this chart you can know the Rd and the class of the ooring which will result due to the installation of
Novopeldaño® 1p as stair nosing. You can compare the values obtained respecting to the ooring without the prole installed.
Values marked in green will identify those values whose improvement has meant an increasing of the class of the ooring.

1. Spread a big amount of gripping material on the riser.
2. Place the tile on the riser and press to an optimal adherence.
3. Then, spread a big amount of gripping material on the tread and align the prole on its vertex (Do
not let overhang, the leverage may remove the step and the tiles). Then press for material to pass
through the mechanized holes of the xing wing.
4. Place the tile on the tread, align it to the prole and ensure a perfect adhesion.
5. Clean the possible remaining material, remove the protective lm and let dry.
Cleaning and maintenance
This product must be cleaned periodically with a soft cloth. If you use a neutral liquid cleaner, you must
rinse the prole with cold water and dry it to remove the humidity excess. The persistent dirtiness can
be removed by using cleaning approved agents lightly abrasive or a grid covered with polished powder
neutral. If a preserving agent is applied, as well as keep a very thin layer of water repellent, note that it
can’t be yellow, attract dust or dirt or have iridescent effects.
Steel wool, abrasive cleaners, souring products as well as strong acids (hydrochloric and
perchloric),strong bases (caustic soda or ammonia) or carbonated solutions are not recommended.
Citric acid is neither recommended because disolves the protective layer of the surface of aluminium.
Waxes, petrolatum, lanolin or similar substances are not appropriate. Solvents containing haloalkanes
(hydrouoroether and chlorinated solvents) and curing accelerators containing chlorides should not be
used (use special accelerators free of chlorides).
