USING YOUR SMART CAMERA
If you are familiar with the Android set up process, then you can jump
straight to Using the Camera on page 15.
Turning on for the first time
To turn on your camera, press and hold the
power button until you see the Acer logo.
Wait a moment for your camera to start.
You will then be asked some questions
before you can use your camera.
To start, tap to select your language then
tap Let’s go. Follow the rest of the
instructions as they are displayed.
If the camera screen turns off, it has entered
sleep mode. Briefly press the power button
to wake it up. For more information see
Waking your camera on page 11.
Sign in to or create a Googleâ„¢account
If you have Internet access, your camera allows you to synchronize
information with a Google account.
During the start-up process, you may create or sign in to an account,
which will be used to synchronize your contact list, email, calendar
and other information. If you do not yet have Internet access, or do not
want to use this feature, then tap Skip.
Note
The Emergency call option is only available on LTE models.
Important
You must sign in to a Google Account to use Gmail, Google Calendar,
and some other Google apps; to download apps on Google Play; to
back up your settings to Google servers; and to take advantage of other
Google services on your camera.
10 - Using your smart camera
If you have multiple Google accounts, such as separate accounts for
personal and business contacts, you can access and synchronize
them from the Accounts settings section. See Synchronization on
page 58.
Set up your microSD card
After installing an optional microSD card into your device, you can
choose to either use the card as a portable storage or internal
storage.
Portable card allows you to transfer photos and videos to the card.
Selecting this mode sets the card as default storage location for your
camera. Downloaded apps cannot be moved to the card.
Internal storage allows you to move app data to the card. This mode
cannot be set as the default storage location for your camera. Photos
and videos cannot be transferred to the card.
Choose your Mode
As you finish the set up process, you may
choose to use either Camera or Android
mode.
Camera mode allows you to use the device
primarily as a camera, with easy access to
camera modes and settings. See Camera
mode on page 12.
Android mode allows your device to act like
an Android device, with a camera app that
allows you to take photos. See Using the
Android OS on page 28.
Activating a new SIM card
If you are using your SIM card for the first time (LTE models only), it
may require activation. Contact your network operator for details on
how to do this.

If you will not use your camera for a while, briefly
press the power button to lock access. This saves
power and ensures your camera does not
unintentionally use any services. Your camera will
lock automatically if it is not used for one minute.
Waking your camera
If the screen is off and the camera does not react to any taps on the
screen, then it has been locked and is in sleep mode.
Press the power button to wake your camera. Unlock your camera by
sliding your finger upwards across the screen.

entered to access the camera, such as an unlock pattern (a set of
dots that must be swiped in the correct order) or a PIN. Open the
Apps list and tap Settings > Security > Screen lock. If you forget
your unlock settings, please refer to Security on page 67.
