Fortress Technologies FGS2014 is a steam brush that can perform dry ironing and steam ironing as well as vertical steaming. SAFETY INSTRUCTION
1. To avoid electric shock, risk of fire or injury, please read the user manual carefully before
using the appliance and keep it for future reference.
2. This appliance is for household use only. Please use suitable power source (110-120 / 220-
240V~ 50/60Hz).
3. Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
4. Do not use the appliance under direct sunshine.
5. Please turn off the appliance when not in use otherwise it may result in danger.
6. The appliance must not be left unattended while it is connected to the supply mains.
7. Keep the appliance away from children.
8. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved.
9. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
10. With any indication of malfunction, please stop using the appliance immediately to avoid
hazard. Take it to / Contact the authorized service center for repair. Do not attempt to repair
or change any parts by yourself.
11. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or
similarly qualified persons in order to avoid hazard.
12. Please turn off and unplug the appliance before cleaning or maintenance.
13. Clean the surface of the appliance with dry cloth. Do not use corrosive detergent or solvent
to clean. Do not swash the appliance with water.
14. Please turn off and unplug the appliance when not in use , make sure the power is off
before pulling out the plug and do not pull the cord.
15. When the appliance is not in use for a prolonged period, please turn it off, unplug it, pack it
well, and store it in dry cool place.
16. Forbid to put flammable and explosive objects around the appliance, and do not use the
appliance in an environment full of flammable gas and powder. Keep away from any fire and
heat sources.
17. The appliance generates high temperature steam. Always handle with care and warn other
users of the potential dangers.
18. Unwind and straighten the power cord before use.
19. The iron must be used and rested on a flat and stable surface.
20. Avoid power cord touches the soleplate.
21. The plug must be removed from the socket before the water reservoir is filled with water.
22. Empty the water tank after use.
23. Do not add perfume, vinegar or other chemical liquids into the water tank; they can damage
the appliance seriously.
24. Do not use the appliance when it is damaged or performs abnormally.
25. Do not use this iron if it has been dropped with visible signs of damage or leakage problem.
26. Do not touch the soleplate during rest or right after use to avoid injury by heat.
27. Do not roll the power cord round the appliance or base for storage until it cool down
completely.
28. Check the mains voltage: Use a coin or suitable object to turn the mains voltage switch to
local mains voltage.
29. For using in Hong Kong and Macau: Please ensure to turn the main voltage switch to “220V
240V” position before each use.

30. Disconnect the appliance from the mains supply and allow it to cool down before:
Remove / reattach the water tank.
Remove / reattach the brush attachment.
31. Do not connect the appliance to a wall socket intended for shavers.
32. Do not allow children touch the appliance or the power cord when ironing.
33. Do not use an extension power cord.
34. When the appliance is used or connected to the mains, do not place the iron such that the
soleplate touches with any surface. Lay it down on its side on a solid flat surface.
35. Do not attempt to open the cabinets or dismantle any parts from the iron in order not to
damage the unit.
36. Do not allow children to perform cleaning and user maintenance when they are without
supervision.
37. Care should be taken when using the appliance due to the emission of steam.
38. When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on the stand is placed is stable.
39. Do not touch the surfaces marked with symbol during operation or rest to avoid injury
by heat. (Please refer to the following Figure 1 and Figure 2)

OPERATION INSTRUCTION
Notes:
1. Sort out the articles to be ironed according to the type of fabric. This will minimize the
frequency of temperature adjustment for different garments.
2. Test ironing a small area on the backside or inside the garment if you are unsure about the
type of fabric. Start with low temperature and increase gradually.
3. Delicate fabrics such as silk, wool, velour and, etc, are suggested to be ironed with an ironing
cloth to prevent shine marks.
4. To iron without an ironing board, you can spread a towel on a firm flat surface. Please ensure
that the surface is heat and moisture resistance. Do not use glass or plastic.
5. Read the garment labels and follow the manufacturer’s ironing instructions that are often
shown by symbols similar as follows:
Voltage Switch
The appliance is a dual-voltage design and it can be used in 110-120V or 220-240V.
Please ensure the local power supply voltage is the same as the rating marked on the voltage
switch of the appliance.
For using in Hong Kong and Macau: Please ensure to turn the main voltage switch to “220V
240V” position before each use.
How to Fill Water
Note: Please unplug the appliance from the mains supply and allow it to cool down completely.
1. Hold the handle of bottom part and pull out the Water Tank. (Fig. 1)
2. Release the water inlet cover, and fill up with water. (Fig. 2)
3. Replace the water inlet cover.
4. Clean the spilt water with a dry cloth.
5. Reattach the Water Tank by sliding on the handle of the appliance until it locks in place firmly. (Fig. 3)

First Time Use
1. Remove any protective films or stickers from the soleplate and the appliance body.
2. Unwind and straighten the power cord.
3. Fill the Water Tank (See How to Fill Water).
4. Connect the appliance to a suitable mains supply outlet.
5. Turn the Temperature Dial to “ ” (3-dot) setting.
6. Pilot Light will go off when the desired temperature is reached.
7. It is suggested to begin first time ironing with an old towel as testing.
8. Press the Burst of Steam button until the water tank is empty and there is no more steam can
be produced, it means the preparation work is completed and the appliance is ready for
proper use.
Important When using the appliance or while it is heating up, do not put it down on its
soleplate. Lay it down on its side on a solid and flat surface.
Dry Ironing
1. Connect the appliance to a suitable mains supply outlet.
2. Turn the Temperature Dial in clockwise direction; select “ ” (1-dot), “ ” (2-dot) or
” (3-dot) according to the recommendation of the garment label.
3. Pilot Light will go off when the desired temperature is reached.
4. The appliance is ready for use.
5. After used, turn the Temperature Dial in anti-clockwise direction to the ‘MIN’ position to turn
off the appliance.
6. Disconnect the appliance from the mains supply outlet and lay it down on its side on a solid
and flat surface.
7. When the appliance gets cool completely, empty the water tank and store it in a safe place.
Burst of Steam Ironing / Vertical Steam
Note: Please unplug the appliance from the mains supply and allow it to cool down completely.
1. Fill the Water Tank (See How to Fill Water).
2. Connect the appliance to a suitable mains supply.
3. Turn the Temperature Dial to “ ” (3-dot) setting.
4. The Pilot Light will go off when the desired temperature is reached.
5. The iron is ready for use.
6. While ironing / vertical steam, press the Burst of Steam Button to release steam. It helps to
remove creases on the garment.
7. Do not press the Burst of Steam Button more than three times successively. Allow few
seconds intervals between operating the burst of steam, otherwise water leakage may occur.
8. After used, turn the Temperature Dial in anti-clockwise direction to the ‘MIN’ position to turn
off the appliance.
9. Disconnect the appliance from the mains supply outlet and lay it down on its side on a flat
and stable surface.
10. When the appliance gets cool completely, empty the water tank and store it in a safe place.
Warning- Do not apply steam on any clothes or fabrics that are being worn by human or pets.
Temperature of the steam is high.

Using Brush Attachment
Note: Please unplug the appliance from the mains supply and allow it to cool down completely.
Assembling the Brush Attachment
 Grip the Brush Attachment on the sides and slide it onto the soleplate completely. (Fig. 4)
 Turn the lock 180 degrees anti-clockwise to lock firmly with the appliance. (Fig.5)
Disassembling the Brush Attachment
1. Unlock by turning the knob 180 degrees clockwise. (Fig. 6)
2. Grip the Brush Attachment on the sides and slide it out from the soleplate completely. (Fig. 7)

Remarks:
1. The Fabric Brush is designed for use on curtains, sofa, and etc.
2. The Fluff Pad is designed for use on clothes, ties, and etc.
3. Threads, fluff, and hair can be easily removed with red fluff pad by brushing smoothly over
the garment from left to right.
4. To clean the Fluff Pad, slightly rub over with a towel.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTION
Cleaning
Your appliance has been designed to be used with tap water. If you live in an area with very hard
water, fast scale build-up will occur. Therefore it is recommended to fill the water tank with 50%
distilled water and 50% tap water to prolong the lifetime of your appliance. Do not use distilled
water only, as it is slightly acidic and may cause damage to your appliance. Do not put perfume,
vinegar, starch, descaling agents, ironing aids or other chemicals in the water tank, as your
appliance is not designed to work with these chemicals.
Note: Please unplug the appliance from the mains supply and allow it to cool down completely.
1. Use a dry cloth or a non-scratching cleaner to remove any deposits on the soleplate or the
appliance body.
2. Never use sharp or rough objects to remove deposits on the soleplate.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
If the iron does not perform normally, please check the following points.

NOTES
To prevent circuit overload and fire, no more than one safety compliant adaptor or extension unit
should be inserted into a socket outlet. (Do not connect other appliances to the socket outlet
supplying an electric heater.) No adaptor should be inserted into any extension unit or vice versa.
Stop using an adaptor or an extension unit or a socket if its socket holes cannot firmly hold a plug if it
is too hard to insert a plug into it.
This appliance must be plugged into a specific 220-240V socket. Please make sure the plug is fully
plugged-in before use. Do not use any adapter or extension cord; Never use the same supply socket
for this appliance and other appliances at the same time, in order to avoid damage to this appliance.
