andplacethenewspacerandspringontothegrass
deector(Figure2).
Note:InstalltheL-endofthespringbehindthedeck
edge.

CAUTION
Thechutegatedoesnotsealthedischarge
opening.Grassandobjectsmaybethrowntoward
bystanders,resultinginseriousinjury.
Beawareofthemowerdischargedirectionand
donotpointitatanyone.
Removeobstaclessuchasrocks,treelimbs,etc.
fromthemowingarea.
Neverputyourhandsorfeetunderthemower
ordischargearea.
Nevertrytoclearthedischargeareaormower
bladesunlesstheengineisoffandyouremove
thekey.
Usethechutegatetotemporarilystopordeectgrass
clippingsawayfromsidewalks,parkinglots,patios,or
anywhereyoudonotwantgrassclippingstoland.Thechute
gatehas3positions:open,45degreeangle,andclosed.
Rotatethechutegatehandletotheopenpositiontoallow
grassclippingstodischarge(Figure11).
Rotatethechutegatehandletothe45degreeangleto
