2.3OperatingInformation
TheInvacarebatterychargerwillallowchargingtheInvacarebattery,
modelPOC1–110,independentlyoftheconcentrator.
ThebatterychargerispoweredbytheACpoweradaptercontained
inthebatterychargerkit.Thebatterychargermustonlybesupplied
atthevoltagecorrespondingtothemarkingontheappliance.
ThemodelPOC1–110batterywillobtainacompletechargewithin
fourhoursafterbeingproperlyconnectedtothebatterycharger.
Batterysoldseparately.
2.4RadioFrequencyInterference
MedicalElectricalEquipmentneedstobeinstalledandusedaccording
totheEMCinformationinthismanual.
ThisequipmenthasbeentestedandfoundtocomplywithEMClimits
specifiedbyIEC/EN60601–1–2.Theselimitsaredesignedtoprovide
areasonableprotectionagainstelectromagneticinterferenceina
typicalhomehealthcareenvironment.
PortableandmobileRFcommunicationsequipmentcanaffectthe
operationofthisequipment.Useofthisequipmentadjacentto
orstackedwithotherequipmentshouldbeavoidedasitcould
resultinimproperoperation.Thebatterychargeroperationshould
beobservedtoverifynormaloperationinthepresenceofsuch
equipment.
Otherdevicesmayexperienceinterferencefromeventhelowlevels
ofelectromagneticemissionspermittedbytheabovestandards.To
determineiftheemissionsfromthebatterychargeriscausingthe
interference,turntheunitoff.Iftheinterferencewiththeother
device(s)stops,thentheunitiscausingtheinterference.Insuch
rarecases,interferencemaybereducedorcorrectedbyoneofthe
followingmeasures:
•Reposition,relocate,orincreasetheseparationbetweenthe
equipment.
•Connecttheequipmentintoanoutletonacircuitdifferentfrom
thattowhichtheotherdevice(s)isconnected.

1.Checkforanyobviousdamagetothecartonoritscontents.If
damageisevident,notifythecarrier,oryourlocaldealer.
2.Removeallloosepackingfromthecarton.
3.Carefullyremoveallthecomponentsfromthecarton.
UnlessthebatterychargeristobeusedIMMEDIATELY,
leaveitinitspackagingforstorage.
4.ThebatterychargerkitcontainsthisUserManualandthe

4.1Introduction
TheInvacarebatterycharger,modelPOC1–115,isintendedtoallow
thepatientorcaregivertochargeanInvacaremodelPOC1–110
batteryindependentlyoftheportableoxygenconcentrator.
TheInvacarebatterychargerincorporatesamulticoloredLED
indicatortoshowchargingstatusandanautomaticshutoffto
preventovercharging.
Yourprovidershouldbecontactedwithanyquestionsorproblems
regardingyourbatterycharger.Thisusermanualwilltellyouabout
yourbatterychargerandwillserveasareferenceasyouuseyour
batterycharger.
4.2ChargingYourBattery
1.PlugtheACpowercordconnectorintotheACpoweradapter.
2.PlugtheACpowercordintoawalloutlet.
3.PlugtheoutletconnectoroftheACpoweradapterintothe
inputconnectorofthechargerbase.

4.AlignthebatterysothattheInvacarelogoisfacingyou.Gently
placethebatteryintothechargerbaseasshown.Whenthe
batterycontactsareengaged,thestatusindicatorlightwillbegin
flashinggreen,indicatingthebatteryisbeingcharged.
Theindicatorlightisoffwhenabatterypackisnot
installedinthechargerbase.
Chargerbaseslotiskeyedsothatthebatterypack
cannotbeinsertedbackwards.
