higherreadingisdetected.PresstheMAXbuttontoexitthemode.
RANGE(VoltageandResistancefunctions)
Whenthemeterisfirstturnedon,itautomaticallygoesintoAutoRanging.Thisautomatically
selectsthebestrangeforthemeasurementsbeingmadeandisgenerallythebestmodefor
mostmeasurements.Formeasurementsituationsrequiringthatarangebemanuallyselected,
performthefollowing:
1.PresstheRANGEbuttonandthe“AUTO”iconwillturnoff.
2.PresstheRANGEbuttontostepthroughtheavailablerangesuntiltherangeneeded
appears.
3. Press and hold the RANGE button for 2 seconds to exit the ManualRanging mode and
returntoAutoRanging.

Backlight
Pressandholdthe buttonfor2secondstoturnthebacklighton.Repeatthepresstoturn
thebacklightofforwaitapproximately15secondsforittoturnoffautomatically.
AutomaticPowerOff
Inordertoconservebatterylife,themeterwillautomaticallyturnoffafterapproximately15
minutes.Themeterwill“beep”beforeshuttingdown.Toturnthemeteronagain,changethe
positionofthefunctionswitch.
Lowbatteryindication
Whenthe iconappearsinthedisplay,thebatteryshouldbereplaced.Refertothebattery
replacementprocedureinthemaintenancesection.

Maintenance
WARNING:Toavoidelectricalshock,disconnectthemeterfromanycircuit,removethetest
leadsfromtheinputterminals,andturnOFFthemeterbeforeopeningthecase.Donotoperate
themeterwithanopencase.
CleaningandStorage
Periodicallywipethecasewithadampclothandmilddetergent;donotuseabrasivesor
solvents.Ifthemeterisnottobeusedfor60daysormore,removethebatteryandstoreit
separately.
BatteryReplacement
1. RemovethePhillipsheadscrewthatsecurestherearbatterycover
2. Openthebatterycompartment
3. Replacethe9Vbattery.
4. Securethebatterycompartmentdoor
Neverdisposeofusedbatteriesorrechargeablebatteriesinhouseholdwaste.
Asconsumers,usersarelegallyrequiredtotakeusedbatteriestoappropriate
collectionsites,theretailstorewherethebatterieswerepurchased,orwherever
batteriesaresold.
