LANDauthorisedworkshops.Allinstructionsdetailedshouldbecarefullyobservedandspecialequipmentindicated
shouldbeusedifnecessary.
Everyonewhocarriesoutserviceoperationsdescribedwithoutcarefullyobservingtheseprescriptionswillbedirectly
responsibleofderivingdamages.
Shimming
Ateachadjustment,selectadjustingshims,measurethemindividuallyusingamicrometerandthensumuprecorded
values.Donotrelyonmeasuringthewholeshimmingset,whichmaybeincorrect,oronratedvalueindicatedfor
eachshim.
Rotatingshaftseals
Tocorrectlyinstallrotatingshaftseals,observethefollowinginstructions:
Letthesealsoakintothesameoilasitwillsealforatleasthalfanhourbeforemounting.
Thoroughlycleantheshaftandensurethattheshaftworkingsurfaceisnotdamaged.
Placethesealingliptowardstheuid.Incaseofahydrodynamiclip,considertheshaftrotationdirectionandorient
groovesinorderthattheydeviatetheuidtowardstheinnersideoftheseal.
Coatthesealinglipwithathinlayeroflubricant(oilratherthangrease)andllwithgreasethegapbetweenthe
sealinglipandthedustlipofdoublelipseals.
Insertthesealintoitsseatandpressitdownusingaatpunch.Donotapthesealwithahammeroradrift.
Takecaretoinsertthesealperpendicularlytoitsseatwhileyouarepressingit.Oncethesealissettled,ensure
thatitcontactsthethrustelementifrequired.
Topreventdamagingthesealinglipagainsttheshaft,placeasuitableprotectionduringinstallation.
O-rings
LubricatetheO-ringsbeforeinsertingthemintotheirseats.ThiswillpreventtheO-ringsfromrollingoverandtwine
duringmountingwhichwilljeopardisesealing.
Sealers
Applyoneofthefollowingsealers:RTVSILMATE,RHODORSILCAF1,orLOCTITE®PIASTICGASKEToverthemating
surfacesmarkedwithanX.
Beforeapplyingthesealer,preparethesurfaceasfollows:
Removepossiblescalesusingametalbrush.
Thoroughlydegreasethesurfacesusingoneofthefollowingcleaningagent:trichlorethylene,petrolorawaterand
sodasolution.
Bearings
Itisadvisabletoheatthebearingsto8090°C(176194°F)beforemountingthemontheirshaftsandcoolthem
downbeforeinsertingthemintotheirseatswithexternaltapping.
Rollpins
Whenttingstraightrollpins,ensurethatthepinnotchisorientedinthedirectionoftheefforttostressthepin.Coil
rollpinscanbeinstalledinanyposition.

Howtomovethetractorwiththebatteryremoved
Cablesfromtheexternalpowersupplyshouldbeconnectedexclusivelytotherespectiveterminalsofthetractor
positiveandnegativecablesusingpliersingoodconditionwhichallowproperandsteadycontact.
Disconnectallservices(lights,wind-shieldwipers,etc.)beforestartingthetractor
Ifitisnecessarytocheckthetractorelectricalsystem,checkitonlywiththepowersupplyconnected.Atcheckend,
disconnectallservicesandswitchthepowersupplyOffbeforedisconnectingthecables.

Donotwearrings,wristwatches,jewels,unbuttonedorappingclothingsuchasties,tornclothes,scarves,open
jacketsorshirtswithopenzipswhichcouldgetholdintomovingparts.Weadvisetouseapprovedsafetyclothing
suchasanti-slippingfootwear,gloves,safetygoggles,helmets,etc.
Nevercarryoutanyrepaironthemachineifsomeoneissittingontheoperator’sseat,exceptiftheyarecertied
operatorstoassistintheoperationtobecarriedout.
Neveroperatethemachineoruseattachmentsfromaplaceotherthansittingattheoperator’sseat.
Nevercarryoutanyoperationonthemachinewhentheengineisrunning,exceptwhenspecicallyindicated.
Stoptheengineandensurethatallpressureisrelievedfromhydrauliccircuitsbeforeremovingcaps,covers,valves,
etc.
Allrepairandmaintenanceoperationsshouldbecarriedoutwiththegreatestcareandattention.
Servicestairsandplatformsusedinaworkshoporintheeldshouldbebuiltincompliancewiththesafetyrulesin
force.
Disconnectthebatteriesandlabelallcontrolstowarnthatthetractorisbeingserviced.Blockthemachineandall
equipmentwhichshouldberaised.
Nevercheckorllfueltanksandaccumulatorbatteries,norusestartingliquidifyouaresmokingornearopen
amesassuchuidsareammable.
Brakesareinoperativewhentheyaremanuallyreleasedformaintenancepurposes.Insuchcases,themachine
shouldbekeptconstantlyundercontrolusingblocksorsimilardevices.
Thefuelllinggunshouldremainalwaysincontactwiththellerneck.Maintainthiscontactuntilthefuelstops
owingintothetanktoavoidpossiblesparksduetostaticelectricitybuildup.
Useexclusivelyspeciedtowingpointsfortowingthetractor.Connectpartscarefully.Ensurethatforeseenpins
and/orlocksaresteadilyxedbeforeapplyingtraction.Donotstopneartowingbars,cablesorchainsworking
underload.

Toloadandunloadthemachinefromthetransportationmean,selectaatareaprovidingarmsupporttothe
trailerortruckwheels.Firmlytiethemachinetothetruckortrailerplatformandblockwheelsasrequiredbythe
forwarder.
Forelectricalheaters,battery-chargersandsimilarequipmentuseexclusiveauxiliarypowersupplieswithaefcient
groundtoavoidelectricalshockhazard.
Alwaysuseliftingequipmentandsimilarofappropriatecapacitytoliftormoveheavycomponents.
Payspecialattentiontobystanders.
Neverpourgasolineordieseloilintoopen,wideandlowcontainers.
Neverusegasoline,dieseloilorotherammableliquidsascleaningagents.Usenonammablenontoxicpropri-
etarysolvents.
Wearprotectiongoggleswithsideguardswhencleaningpartsusingcompressedair.
Donotexceedapressureof2.1bar(30.45psi),inaccordancewithlocalregulations.
Donotruntheengineinaclosedbuildingwithoutproperventilation.
Donotsmoke,useopenames,causesparksinthenearbyareawhenllingfuelorhandlinghighlyammable
liquids.
Donotuseamesaslightsourceswhenworkingonamachineorcheckingforleaks.
Movewithcautionwhenworkingunderatractor,andalsoonornearatractor.Wearpropersafetyaccessories:
helmets,gogglesandspecialfootwear.
Duringcheckswhichshouldbecarriedoutwiththeenginerunning,askanassistanttoseatattheoperator’sseat
andkeeptheservicetechnicianundervisualcontrolatanymoment.
Incaseofoperationsoutsidetheworkshop,drivethetractortoaatareaandblockit.Ifworkingonanincline
cannotbeavoided,rstblockthetractorcarefully.Moveittoaatareaassoonaspossiblewithacertainextent
ofsafety.
Ruinedorpliedcablesandchainsareunreliable.Donotusethemforliftingortrailing.Alwayshandlethemwearing
glovesofproperthickness.
Chainsshouldalwaysbesafelyfastened.Ensurethatfasteningdeviceisstrongenoughtoholdtheloadforeseen.
Nopersonsshouldstopnearthefasteningpoint,trailingchainsorcables.
TheworkingareashouldbealwayskeptCLEANandDRY .Immediatelycleananyspillageofwateroroil.
Donotpileupgreaseoroilsoakedrags,astheyconstituteagreatrehazard.Alwaysplacethemintoametal
container.Beforestartingthetractororitsattachments,check,adjustandblocktheoperator’sseat.Alsoensure
thattherearenopersonswithinthetractororattachmentoperatingrange.
Donotkeepintoyourpocketsanyobjectwhichmightfallunobservedintothetractor’sinnercompartments.
Wheneverthereisthepossibilityofbeingreachedbyejectedmetalpartsorsimilar,useprotectioneyemaskor
goggleswithsideguards,helmets,specialfootwearandheavygloves.
Wearsuitableprotectionsuchastintedeyeprotection,helmets,specialclothing,glovesandfootwearwheneveritis
necessarytocarryoutweldingprocedures.Allpersonsstandinginthevicinityoftheweldingprocessshouldwear
tintedeyeprotection.NEVERLOOKATTHEWELDINGARCIFYOUREYESARENOTSUITABLYPROTECTED.
Metalcableswiththeusegetfrayed.Alwayswearadequateprotections(heavygloves,eyeprotection,etc.)
Handleallpartswiththegreatestcaution.Keepyourhandsandngersfarfromgaps,movinggearsandsimilar.
Alwaysuseapprovedprotectiveequipment,suchaseyeprotection,heavyglovesandprotectivefootwear.
Startup
Neverruntheengineinconnedspaceswhicharenotequippedwithadequateventilationforexhaustgasextrac-
tion.

Alwaysloosentheradiatorcapveryslowlybeforeremovingittoallowpressureinthesystemtodissipate.Coolant
shouldbetoppeduponlywhentheengineisstoppedoridleifhot.
Donotllupfueltankwhentheengineisrunning,mainlyifitishot,toavoidignitionofresincaseoffuelspilling.
Nevercheckoradjustthefanbelttensionwhentheengineisrunning.Neveradjustthefuelinjectionpumpwhen
thetractorismoving.
Neverlubricatethetractorwhentheengineisrunning.
Electricalsystems
Ifitisnecessarytouseauxiliarybatteries,cablesmustbeconnectedatbothsidesasfollows:(+)to(+)and(–)to
(–).Avoidshortcircuitingtheterminals.GASRELEASEDFROMBATTERIESISHIGHLYFLAMMABLE.During
charging,leavethebatterycompartmentuncoveredtoimproveventilation.Avoidcheckingthebatterychargeby
meansof“jumpers”madebyplacingmetallicobjectsacrosstheterminals.Avoidsparksoramesnearthebattery
area.Donosmoketopreventexplosionhazards.
Priortoanyservice,checkforfuelorcurrentleaks.Removetheseleaksbeforegoingonwiththework.
Donotchargebatteriesinconnedspaces.Ensurethatventilationisappropriatetopreventaccidentalexplosion
hazardduetobuildupofgasesreleavedduringcharging.
Alwaysdisconnectthebatteriesbeforeperforminganytypeofserviceontheelectricalsystem.
Hydraulicsystems
Someuidslowlycomingoutfromaverysmallportcanbealmostinvisibleandbestrongenoughtopenetratethe
skin.Forthisreason,NEVERUSEYOURHANDSTOCHECKFORLEAKS,butuseapieceofcardboardora
pieceofwoodtothispurpose.Ifanyuidisinjectedintotheskin,seekmedicalaidimmediately.Lackofimmediate
medicalattention,seriousinfectionsordermatosismayresult.
Alwaystakesystempressurereadingsusingtheappropriategauges.
Wheelsandtires
Checkthatthetiresarecorrectlyinatedatthepressurespeciedbythemanufacturer.Periodicallycheckpossible
damagestotherimsandtires.
Keepoffandstayatthetiresidewhencorrectingtheinationpressure.
Checkthepressureonlywhenthetractorisunloadedandtiresarecoldtoavoidwrongreadingsduetoover-
pressure.Donotreusepartsofrecoveredwheelsasimproperwelding,brazingorheatingmayweakenthewheel
andmakeitfail.
Nevercut,norweldarimwiththeinatedtireassembled.
Toremovethewheels,blockbothfrontandreartractorwheels.Raisethetractorandinstallsafeandstablesupports
underthetractorinaccordancewithregulationsinforce.
Deatethetirebeforeremovinganyobjectcaughtintothetiretread.
Neverinatetiresusingammablegasesastheymayoriginateexplosionsandcauseinjuriestobystanders.
Removalandinstallation
Liftandhandleallheavycomponentsusingliftingequipmentofadequatecapacity.Ensurethatpartsaresupported
byappropriateslingsandhooks.Useliftingeyesprovidedtothispurpose.T akecareofthepersonsneartheloads
tobelifted.
Handleallpartswithgreatcare.Donotplaceyourhandsorngersbetweentwoparts.Wearapprovedprotective
clothingsuchassafetygoggles,glovesandfootwear.
Donottwinechainsormetalcables.Alwayswearprotectionglovestohandlecablesorchains.

Usegoodqualitywater.Deionizedwaterisidealforcoolingsystemsandiscontainedinsomeprepackagedcoolants
labeledaspre-mixedwithwater.Ifthelowsilicateethyleneglycolcoolantisnotpre-chargedwithsupplementaldiesel
