Everyonewhocarriesoutserviceoperationsdescribedwithoutcarefullyobservingtheseprescriptionswillbedirectly

Shimming
Ateachadjustment,selectadjustingshims,measurethemindividuallyusingamicrometerandthensumuprecorded
values.Donotrelyonmeasuringthewholeshimmingset,whichmaybeincorrect,oronratedvalueindicatedfor
eachshim.
Rotatingshaftseals
Tocorrectlyinstallrotatingshaftseals,observethefollowinginstructions:
Letthesealsoakintothesameoilasitwillsealforatleasthalfanhourbeforemounting.
Thoroughlycleantheshaftandensurethattheshaftworkingsurfaceisnotdamaged.
Placethesealingliptowardstheuid.Incaseofahydrodynamiclip,considertheshaftrotationdirectionandorient
groovesinorderthattheydeviatetheuidtowardstheinnersideoftheseal.
Coatthesealinglipwithathinlayeroflubricant(oilratherthangrease)andllwithgreasethegapbetweenthe
sealinglipandthedustlipofdoublelipseals.
Insertthesealintoitsseatandpressitdownusingaatpunch.Donotapthesealwithahammeroradrift.
Takecaretoinsertthesealperpendicularlytoitsseatwhileyouarepressingit.Oncethesealissettled,ensure
thatitcontactsthethrustelementifrequired.
Topreventdamagingthesealinglipagainsttheshaft,placeasuitableprotectionduringinstallation.
O-rings
LubricatetheO-ringsbeforeinsertingthemintotheirseats.ThiswillpreventtheO-ringsfromrollingoverandtwine
duringmountingwhichwilljeopardisesealing.
Sealers
Applyoneofthefollowingsealers:RTVSILMATE,RHODORSILCAF1,orLOCTITE®PIASTICGASKEToverthemating
surfacesmarkedwithanX.
Beforeapplyingthesealer,preparethesurfaceasfollows:
Removepossiblescalesusingametalbrush.
Thoroughlydegreasethesurfacesusingoneofthefollowingcleaningagent:trichlorethylene,petrolorawaterand
sodasolution.
Bearings
Itisadvisabletoheatthebearingsto8090°C(176194°F)beforemountingthemontheirshaftsandcoolthem
downbeforeinsertingthemintotheirseatswithexternaltapping.
Rollpins
Whenttingstraightrollpins,ensurethatthepinnotchisorientedinthedirectionoftheefforttostressthepin.Coil
rollpinscanbeinstalledinanyposition.

Nevercarryoutanyrepaironthemachineifsomeoneissittingontheoperator’sseat,exceptiftheyarecertied
operatorstoassistintheoperationtobecarriedout.
Neveroperatethemachineoruseattachmentsfromaplaceotherthansittingattheoperator’sseat.
Nevercarryoutanyoperationonthemachinewhentheengineisrunning,exceptwhenspecicallyindicated.
Stoptheengineandensurethatallpressureisrelievedfromhydrauliccircuitsbeforeremovingcaps,covers,valves,

Alwaysuseliftingequipmentandsimilarofappropriatecapacitytoliftormoveheavycomponents.

Neverpourgasolineordieseloilintoopen,wideandlowcontainers.
Neverusegasoline,dieseloilorotherammableliquidsascleaningagents.Usenonammablenontoxicpropri-

Nevercheckoradjustthefanbelttensionwhentheengineisrunning.Neveradjustthefuelinjectionpumpwhen
thetractorismoving.
Neverlubricatethetractorwhentheengineisrunning.
Electricalsystems
Ifitisnecessarytouseauxiliarybatteries,cablesmustbeconnectedatbothsidesasfollows:(+)to(+)and(–)to
(–).Avoidshortcircuitingtheterminals.GASRELEASEDFROMBATTERIESISHIGHLYFLAMMABLE.During
charging,leavethebatterycompartmentuncoveredtoimproveventilation.Avoidcheckingthebatterychargeby
meansof“jumpers”madebyplacingmetallicobjectsacrosstheterminals.Avoidsparksoramesnearthebattery
area.Donosmoketopreventexplosionhazards.
Priortoanyservice,checkforfuelorcurrentleaks.Removetheseleaksbeforegoingonwiththework.
Donotchargebatteriesinconnedspaces.Ensurethatventilationisappropriatetopreventaccidentalexplosion
hazardduetobuildupofgasesreleavedduringcharging.
Alwaysdisconnectthebatteriesbeforeperforminganytypeofserviceontheelectricalsystem.
Hydraulicsystems
Someuidslowlycomingoutfromaverysmallportcanbealmostinvisibleandbestrongenoughtopenetratethe
skin.Forthisreason,NEVERUSEYOURHANDSTOCHECKFORLEAKS,butuseapieceofcardboardora
pieceofwoodtothispurpose.Ifanyuidisinjectedintotheskin,seekmedicalaidimmediately.Lackofimmediate
medicalattention,seriousinfectionsordermatosismayresult.
Alwaystakesystempressurereadingsusingtheappropriategauges.
Wheelsandtires
Checkthatthetiresarecorrectlyinatedatthepressurespeciedbythemanufacturer.Periodicallycheckpossible
damagestotherimsandtires.
Keepoffandstayatthetiresidewhencorrectingtheinationpressure.
Checkthepressureonlywhenthetractorisunloadedandtiresarecoldtoavoidwrongreadingsduetoover-
pressure.Donotreusepartsofrecoveredwheelsasimproperwelding,brazingorheatingmayweakenthewheel
andmakeitfail.
Nevercut,norweldarimwiththeinatedtireassembled.
Toremovethewheels,blockbothfrontandreartractorwheels.Raisethetractorandinstallsafeandstablesupports
underthetractorinaccordancewithregulationsinforce.
Deatethetirebeforeremovinganyobjectcaughtintothetiretread.
Neverinatetiresusingammablegasesastheymayoriginateexplosionsandcauseinjuriestobystanders.
Removalandinstallation
