1. Safety
Use the T-20 rental tiles in a hanging configur ation only. Maximum allowed T-20 display height is 10 tiles high. Never trus s more
than 10 tiles high.
Disconnect d evice:
When the appliance inlets of the individual tiles are not accessible, the socket outlets supplying the rack shall be installed ne ar the
equipment and b e easily ac cessible, or a readily accessible gen eral disconnect device shall be incorporated in the fixed wiring.
This equipm ent MUS T be earthed:
In order to protect againstrisk of electric shock, the installation should be p roperly grounded. Defeating the purpose of the grounding
type plug will expose you to the risk of electric shock.
Power system :
It is recommended to use a TN-S power distribution system (a power distribution system with a separate neutral and grounding
conductor) in order to avoid large groun d current loops du e to voltage differences in the n eutral c onductor. The total electrical
installation should be protectedbyanappropriatelyrateddisconnectswitch, circuitbreakers, over voltage protector and G round Fault
Current Interrupters. The installation shall be done according to the local electrical installation codes. In Europe special attention
should be g iven to EN 60364, the standard for electrical installation of buildings. In G erma ny VDE 0100 should be adhered to. In
America, special attention should be given to the National Electrical Code, ANS I/NFPA 70.
Mains cords:
The power cords de livered with this system ha ve special properties for safety. They ar e no t user serviceable. If the power cords are
damaged, replace them only with new ones. Never try to repair a power cord.
Data cables:
The data cables provided with this system have special properties for safety. They are not user serviceable. If the data cables are
damaged, replace them only with new ones . Never try to repair a data cable. Pe r requirements of the National Electrical Code®
in the USA , the length of a data cab le must not exceed 42 m (140 feet). Avoid exposure of data cables to accidental contact with
lightning or power conductors.
1.4 Proper usage
Proper usage of T-20 tiles
• No part of the T-20 tile can come in contact with any type of abrasive.
• No part of the T-20 tile can com e in c ontact with any type of corrosive substance.
• T-20 tiles are to be u sed in environments meeting the op erating specifications.
• T-20 tiles are not to be exposed to extreme localized heat or c old exceeding the temperature s pecifica tions.
• T-20 tiles are not to be exposed to any element or situation that will cause any pa rt of the display to heat beyond what occurs
during normal operation. Such situations include but are not limited to lasers, ultrasonic vibration, o r any type of substance that
prevents proper ventilation and heat radiation o f the T-20 tiles.
• Power connected to the T-20 tiles must meet the specifications outlined in the installation manual.
• Neverplace an T -20 tile upon asurfacewiththe LED’sfacingdownwards. This to pr event damage tothe LED’sand the shaders.
• T-20 tiles which are not installed and which are not securely stored in an T -20 flight case, m ay only be placed ver tically upon
flat surfaces free of clutter.
• No force can be applied to the LED’s. Any LED’s dam aged due to mechanical stress are not c overed by the warranty.
• Safety and functional features of the display cannot be defeated.
• It is not allowed to climb or hang any additional equipment on the back of an T-20 wall. Nothing is to be allowed to hang from
the cables of a n T-20 tile.
• Any failures must be imm ediately and appropriately dealt with (equipment returned to B arco?). Failing eq uipment cannot be
left t o r un in a wall.
• No additional tools (hammers, pry-bars, etc.) are to be used to force handles or locks into place . All moving parts should be
managed by hand. Only a 8 mm Allen wrench may be used.
• Only Barco cables s pecified to be used with the T-20 display are to be used to connect components in an T-20 wall. Further,
care must be taken to connect signal only accordi
ng to the installation manual.
• T-20 tiles are not to be used in the vicinity of any equipment that is not CE and UL/ETL certified.
• T-20 tiles are not to be transported for any distance in containers other than Barco T-20 flight cases or Barco T-20 dollies or
T-20 single unit pac kaging. Further, even the use of Barco flight cases, dollies or packaging material does not g uarantee the
T-20 tiles aga inst dam age due to excessive force of impacts.
• T-20 tiles are not to be connected to any non-Barco equipment.
• When hanging T -20 tiles, only B arco T-20 trusses ca
n be used and they m ust be installed and connected a ccording to the
manual. Improper hanging of T-20 tiles can result in excessive forces on the structural c omponents of theT-20 tiles.
• T-20 tiles are only to b e installed ve rtically. Any tilting of a display w ill cause undue stress on the structural components of the
T-20 tiles.
• T-20 tiles can be trussed u p to 10 tiles high. Never truss more than 10 tiles high.
• T-20 tiles can be cleaned only in accordance to the procedures de fined in the installation manual.
