IMPORTANT
First make sure that the appliance has not been damaged in transit. If any
damage has been incurred, please inform the supplier immediately.
Please read these instructions carefully.
Keep the instructions in a safe place and make sure that they are retained with
the refrigerator when the appliance is transferred to a new location or owner.
Note! If this refrigerator is replacing a larger one which is going to be scrapped,
remove the door before disposal to prevent children from becoming trapped
inside.
Please contact the relevant area refuse office to arrange disposal. The pipe
system of your refrigerator must not be damaged if technically correct disposal
is to be guaranteed.
If possible, please take the packaging of your new refrigerator to the recycling
centre for your area.
Recommendation: before installation or initial use of the appliance, clean the
interior and fittings with lukewarm water and, if necessary, a mild detergent.
Never use acidic, abrasive or strongsmelling detergents or wax polishes!
Connecting to the mains
The refrigerator must only be connected to the electricity supply using an
earthed socket outlet, installed in accordance with local regulations. Before
connecting the refrigerator, check from the data label inside the cabinet that the
voltage agrees with your mains supply.
Warning - This Appliance must be earthed.
SWITCHING ON
Inside the refrigerator you will find a plastic bag contanining 4 small wheels.
Carefully place the refrigerator on its back and insert the pins of the wheels into
the metal holders located on the underside of the refrigerator. In this way you
can always move your refrigerator to where it is needed.
To switch on the refrigerator, plug it into the socket and turn the thermostat (in
the inside compartment) to position 3 or 4. The appliance start to cool in about
one hour.
The temperature inside the refrigerator is affected by location, room temperature
and too frequent opening of the door. Adjustment of the thermostat dial may
therefore be necessary.
4
TEMPERATURE CONTROL
The cooling capacity can be adjusted with the thermostat. 0=cooling is switched
off, from 1-5 the temperature decreases. When the thermostat is at a medium
setting and the ambient temperature is normal, the temperature inside the
refrigerator is between 0°-7°C.
Note! Depending on the ambient temperature, service life, and quantity and
temperature of the refrigerated items, the temperature inside the refrigerator can
drop to below 0°C when the thermostat is set at 5 (maximum cooling capacity).
Drinks can freeze, glass bottles and can may burst!
If the ambient temperature is very high, the cooling capacity decreases. This
does not mean than the appliance is defective.
USING THE REFRIGERATOR
The refrigerator provides sufficient storage space for food, milk, drinks etc. The
shelves on the inside of the door are suitable for bottles, tins and small packets.
The un-refrigerated space above the cooling compartment can be used for
storing glasses and snacks.
All food should be stored in its original packaging or in closed containers.
Liquids should also only be stored in closed bottles or containers. In this way
food remains moist, odours do not form and neither does excess ice form on the
cooling unit. Allow hot food and drink to cool down before placing them in the
refrigerator.
The temperature in the freezer section of the unit is set at - 12°C. Frozen
products can be stored here for short periods (please follow the instructions on
the packet very carefully!)
NOTE: RH030 and RH060FDF1 do not contain freezer compartment
Do not keep any easily combustible substances such as ether, petrol,
adhesive, propane gas etc. in the refrigerator, it could explode!
ICE CUBES
Fill the ice-cube container to 4/5 with potable water. Place the ice-cube
container in the freezer section. Wipe off any excess water to prevent the ice tray
from freezing to the surface.
To speed up the making of ice cubes, turn the thermostat to position 5 for a short
while. Remember to turn the dial to its normal setting when the ice cubes are
frozen.
To remove the cubes from the ice tray, hold it under running water. The ice
cubes can now be taken out easily.
5
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Defrosting
Frost will gradually form on the cooling surfaces and it must not be allowed to
become too thick since it impairs the cooling efficiency of the refrigerator.
RH030 - RH060
Defrosting of the frost built up on the evaporator starts automatically for 2 hours
long in every 24 hours.
The defrost water is automatically evaporated by the heat generated by the
appliance. After defrosting is completed, cooling will automatically be started
again.
Defrost water
During the defrosting process the water runs through a hose into a container on
the back of the refrigerator where it evaporates. This container does not need to
be emptied.
Cleaning
Clean the inside of your refrigerator regularly to keep it fresh and gygienic.
Switch off the appliance and pull out the plug. Clean the interior and fittings
carefully with a mild detergent in lukewarm water.
Never use acidic, abrasive or strongsmelling detergents or wax polishes as
these will damage the surfaces and leave an unpleasant smell.
The wooden housing should be dusted from time/to/time or wiped down with a
damp cloth. The door seal should onlz be cleaned with water and rubbed down
with talcum powder from time to time.
If possible, the unit should also be dusted occasionallz with a brush or, even
better, with a vacuum cleaner. Ensure that the plug is disconnected.
Changing the feet RH 060DF
Should you wish to install your miniBar, you will not need the 40-mm feet. After
having removed the 40-mm feet, you can then re-attach the 12-mm feet, located
inside the 40-mm feet, to the front and rear fixing points. The 40-mm feet and
the 4 remaining screws should be retained for future use.
Changing the lightbulb (If available)
If the lightbulb needs changing, pull out the plug and proceed as follows:
Press the metal reflector to one side and draw the lamp covering backwards.
Replace the bulb and push the covering back into place.
A new max. 10-watt bulb can be obtained at any service shop.
Longer periods of absence 
If you wish to switch off the appliance for a longer period of time, pull out the
plug, defrost the refrigerator and clean it carefully. Leave the door open to
prevent unpleasant odours from forming.
6
TROUBLE-SHOOTING
Before you call a service engineer, carry out the following simple tests.
Is there a power failure? Check the fuses.
Is the plug firmly connected to the socket and is the socket switched on? Check
the socket by plugging in another appliance, eg a table lamp.
Is the thermostat at the correct setting? (normally 3 or 4).
Has the door not been closed properly causing the inside temperature to rise too
quickly?
Is the refrigerator level?
Has the ventilation become obstructed?
If after checking all the above points, the refrigerator is still not working
satisfactorily, contact your nearest service engineer.
This refrigerator is equipped with overheating protection. An authorised service
technician can check whether this has been triggered or not.
State the problem, model and product number. (Details of the model and
product number are to be found on the data label in the top left of the inside
compartment.)
IMPORTANT ADVICE
Do
Make sure that drinks and food, particularly those with a strong smell, are closed
tightly or well packed;
Close the door properly after use. The door should only be left open a little when
the refrigerator is switched off;
Do not
Use sharp objects to remove the frost layer or free the ice tray,
Obstruct the airflow on or above the cooling unit,
Put any hot or warm food/drinks into the refrigerator allow them to cool down
first
The appliance does not contain any CFCs/HCFCs.
Sodium chromate is used for corrosion protection (less than 2 weight % of the
coolant).
7
RECYCLING
After unpacking the appliance, the packing materials should be delivered to a
local collection site. At the end of its useful lifetime, the appliance should be
delivered to a specialized collection and reprocessing firm, which reclaims the
usable materials. The rest is properly destroyed.
