OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
LARGE CAPACITY TRAILED
COLLECTOR
Ref: TRCL
SAFETY
This large capacity trailer has been developed by SCH to tow behind tractors
having the description known as 'twin cut'.
These tractors have a centre rear discharge blowing the cut grass/leaves into a
limited size collection hopper. Frequent emptying is extremely time-consuming
and frustrating.
The TRCL greatly increases the collecting capacity and therefore larger areas
are collected in one fill, quicker, time saving and a great cost saving in labour.
The powerful motorised fan unit mounted on the front of the TRCL sucks up the
green waste from the cutter deck and propels it into the trailer. The trailer has a
low centre of gravity, which makes it extremely stable on hilly ground. Wide
profile pneumatic wheels greatly reduce wheel markings on soft ground. The fan
on the unit is belt driven to protect the engine should a blockage occur.
The units ‘wandering hose’ is ideal for use when dismounted from the towing
vehicle.

Ensure the fan front swing door is securely fixed.
Never attempt to adjust, remove guards or clear blockages whilst the
engine is running.
The unit is designed to ‘pick up’ vegetable matter, Mineral and iron
objects must be avoided.
Never disconnect the suction hose from the blower.
Never insert arms into the inlet or outlet orifices while the engine is
running.
Never point the discharge hose at any person.
Should the discharge hose become damaged it must be replaced.

TO PREPARE
1. Pull the cord at the front of the collector and ‘tie off’ when light.
2. Lay the web strap along the base of the trailer.
3. The remainder of the strap, take back to the rear top and secure, close
doors and fix netting cover in place.
OPERATION ADVICE
Always travel at a low forward speed.
If you hear the engine revolutions go down, stop collecting and let the
revolutions build back up.
TO EMPTY
1. Unclip the rear netting and open the two swing doors
2. Detach the top strap and pull. The wedge of collected leaves will pull
out (a few will be left behind, simply rake these out).
INTERNAL & FAN BLOCKAGES
1. Switch off tractor engine.
2. Switch off the fan engine.
3. Remove the connection hose.
4. Undo the retaining net on the doors.
5. Swing open the doors and clear the blockage.
HOSE BLOCKAGES
If the long wander hose blocks, straighten the hose and create a ‘wave’ motion
with the fan running.
