JasonL 50004-700-36-853-B Operating instructions

  • Hello! I have reviewed the assembly instructions for the Clam Round and Clam Square Drafting Chairs. The document provides a step-by-step guide on how to assemble the chair, including instructions on how to attach the base, castors, gas lift, seat pan, and backrest. It also mentions how to adjust the back rest height and tilt. I'm ready to answer your questions about these products.
  • What components are included with the Clam Drafting Chairs?
How do I start the assembly of the chair?
How is the foot ring adjusted?
1. Components. Both the Clam and the Clam Square break down into the following
component groups:
Star base x1
Castors or glides x5
Gas lift x1
Foot ring (if supplied) x1
Seat pan and fixed adjustment mechanism x1
Back rest x1
2. Begin assembly by inserting 5 glides or castors (as supplied) into the star base by
pushing each of the castor / glide metal pinions into underside of star base.
3. Turn star base right side up and insert gas lift into centre of star base.
4. Insert foot ring (if supplied) over gas lift and tighten tension screw to move foot ring
up and down gas lift stem.
5. Place seat pan on top of gas lift ensuring gas lift tip fits into seat pan mechanism.
6. Insert back rest stem into rear of seat pan mechanism. (Some models may also
feature a rubber bellows cover for the back stem, this is an optional fitting only over
the back rest stem.)
7. Tighten knob on back rest stem for back rest height adjustment.
8. Test right hand side under seat levers for height adjustment and back rest tilt.
