Cole-Parmer P100 pH Meter User manual

  • Hello! I've reviewed the User Manual for the 3-in-1 pH Electrode. This document details the device's technical specifications, usage guidelines, and maintenance instructions. It highlights the electrode's 3-in-1 functionality and the importance of proper care for accurate measurements. I am ready to assist you with any questions you might have about this device.
  • Can the electrode front glass bulb touch hard objects?
How should I clean the electrode connector?
What is the purpose of the soaking solution?
What should I do before measuring if I see an air bubble in glass bulb?
What should I use to rinse the electrode before and after measurement?

2. Notes
a) Electrode front glass bulb can not touch with hard object, any damage and coarse wipe
will cause electrode degradation.
b) Electrode connector must be kept clean and dry. If contaminated, it can be wipe clean
by medical cotton dips with anhydrous alcohol and then blow dry. Absolutely prevent two end of
electrode connector from short circuit. Otherwise it will cause measurement invalidation.
c) There is right amount electrode soaking solution in protection bottle of electrode
front-end. Electrode tip is soaked inside it to keep glass bulb and junction activated. When
measuring, unscrew the cap and pull out electrode. Rinse off with pure water and it can be used.
After using, insert the electrode and screw bottle cap. If find muddy, signs of mould in the
solution of protection bottle, the bottle should be washed in time and replace new solution.
Soaking solution preparation: take 30g KCl reagent, dissolve in 100ml pure water.
d) If there is air bubble in glass bulb, it should be shaken off before measuring. Otherwise it
will cause measurement error. When measuring, electrode should be stirred in the solution and
static placed to eliminate air bubble and expedite response.
e) Rinse the electrode with pure water before and after measuring, then shake it dry. After
measuring viscous sample, electrode should be repeatedly rinsed by pure water to remove the
sample adhesion to glass membrane and junction, or choose suitable solvent to rinse, and then
wash off the solvent with pure water.
