Please comply with these instructions. If you do not, any damage re-
sulting is not covered by the warranty.
Correct use
This appliance should be used only for normal domestic cooking and
frying of food.
The appliance must not be used as a work surface or as a storage sur-
face.
Additions or modifications to the appliance are not permitted.
Gas/electrical safety
This appliance must only be connected by a qualified electrician. Be-
fore installation and using for the first time, the operating and instal-
lation instructions are to be followed.
The appliance must only be installed in accordance with the regula-
tions in force and only in a well ventilated, sufficiently large room. If
in doubt, speak to your installer.
In the event of faults with the appliance or damage to the burner or
the glass ceramic (cracks, scratches, splits), switch off the appliance,
shut off gas supply. Do not use the appliance if damaged!
If away from home for a long time: shut off mains gas supply.
Repairs to the appliance must only be carried out by qualified serv-
ice engineers. Considerable danger may result from improper repairs.
If repairs become necessary, please contact our Customer Care De-
partment or your dealer.
Using a gas cooking appliance leads to a build up of heat and humid-
ity in the room in which it is installed. Make sure there is good venti-
lation in the kitchen: Open the windows or vents or install an
extractor hood.
If the appliance is used intensively or for a long time, provide addi-
tional ventilation: Open window or operate cooker hood on a high
setting.
Child safety
Small children must be kept away from the appliance.
Only let bigger children work on the appliance under supervision.

Safety during use
1 Warning in the event of a smell of gas
Do not activate any electrical switches.
Do not light matches or lighters, do not smoke.
Open windows and doors, ventilate very well.
Shut off gas supply to the appliance and mains gas supply.
Contact your gas company’s emergency service or the service depart-
ment.
Do not do anything to the appliance.
1 In addition follow the safety instructions of your local gas supplier.
Be careful if connecting electrical appliances to sockets near to this
appliance. Electrical leads must not be allowed to come near hot
rings.
1 Warning: Risk of burns!
During operation the rings become hot.
Overheated fat and oil can ignite quickly. When cooking with fat or
oil (e.g. frying chips) do not leave the appliance unattended.
Do not place or store flammable liquids, highly inflammable materials
or fusible objects (e.g. plastic film, plastic, aluminium) on or near the
appliance.
Safety when cleaning
For cleaning, the appliance must be switched off and cooled down.
For safety reasons, the cleaning of the appliance with steam jet or
high-pressure cleaning equipment is not permitted.
How to avoid damage to the appliance
The ceramic glass can be damaged by objects falling onto it.
Objects that melt and things that boil over can burn onto the ceramic
glass and should be removed straightaway.

Before using for the first time
Remove pan stand, burner cover and burner crown.
Remove any stickers that are on the glass ceramic.
Put a few drops of glass ceramic cleaner on the glass ceramic and rub
with a cloth or kitchen paper.
Wipe glass ceramic dry.
Clean pan holder, burner crown and burner cover with warm water
and washing up liquid. Dry off.
Replace burner crown, burner cover and pan stand.

3 The appliance is equipped with a fully protected ring burner. If the
flames go out, for whatever reason, the gas supply is automatically
closed off.

Important
Each time before switching on make
sure that the burner crown and
burner cover are lying straight on
the burner body.
If burner crown and burner cover
are lying crookedly, the gas flame
does not burn evenly and it can
cause damage to the burner cover.
1 Important
The apertures for the gas flames on the burner crown must not be
blocked by foods that have boiled over or by cleaning products.

Switching the appliance on and off
1. Turn the ring switch to the left to
maximum power .
2. Press the ring switch in firmly, until
the gas has ignited. After a success-
ful ignition hold the ring switch de-
pressed for about 5 seconds. If the
flame should go out, repeat the ig-
nition process.
3. Set the desired power. The power
can be set progressively from maxi-
mum power to minimum power
.
4. To end the cooking process, turn
back to the Off position.
3 In the event of a power cut or also when the spark plug is wet (because
of food boiling over or cleaning) the rings can also be ignited using a
gas lighter or a match.
1 Warning!
Only take cookware from the ring when at minimum power or in the
Off Position •.

Cleaning and care

Warning: During cleaning the burners must be switched off. Ensure
that the hob has cooled down sufficiently so that you can touch all
parts safely.
1 Important: Sharp objects and abrasive cleaning materials will damage
the appliance. Clean with water and washing up liquid.
1 Important: Residues from cleaning agents will damage the appliance.
Remove residues with water and washing up liquid.
Glass ceramic
1. Place the scraper on the glass ceramic surface at an angle.
2. Remove residues by sliding the blade over the surface.
3. Wipe the appliance with a damp cloth and a little washing up liquid.
4. Rub the appliance dry using a clean cloth.
*Scrapers and cleaners for glass ceramic and stainless steel can be purchased from specialist retailers
Burner crown and burner cover
Clean burner crown and burner cover in hot washing up water, remove
heavy deposits with a soft brush after soaking. The flame apertures of
the burner crown must always be clean and free of debris.
Pan brackets
Wash the pan brackets using hot water and washing-up liquid. Soak
heavy residues with a wet cloth.
3 Please don’t wash burner crown, burner cover and pan bracket in the
dishwasher.

Removable Frontline strip
The aluminium Frontline strip fastens on by means of magnets. It is
easy to remove by hand and can be cleaned with detergent. Please do
not use any scouring agents or sponges that scratch. Do not clean the
strip in the dishwasher.

What to do if
If you are unable to remedy the problem by following the above
suggestions, please contact your local Service Force Centre.
1 Warning! Repairs to the appliance are only to be carried out by quali-
fied service engineers. Considerable danger to the user may result from
improper repairs.
3 If the appliance has been operated incorrectly, the visit from the service
technician or dealer may not take place free of charge, even during the
warranty period.

Packaging material
The packaging materials are environmentally friendly and can be recy-
cled. The plastic components are identified by markings, e.g. >PE<,
>PS<, etc. Please dispose of the packaging materials in the appropriate
container at your local waste disposal facilities.
2 Old appliance
The symbol
W on the product or on its packaging indicates that this
product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be
handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of elec-
trical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of
correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the
environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by
inappropriate waste handling of this product. For more detailed infor-
mation about recycling of this product, please contact your local city
office, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you
purchased the product.

Installation Instructions
Safety instructions when building in
The laws, ordinances, directives and standards in force in the country of
use are to be followed (safety regulations, proper recycling in accord-
ance with the regulations, etc.)
Installation may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
The minimum distances to other appliances and units are to be ob-
served.
Anti-shock protection must be provided by the installation, for example
drawers may only be installed with a protective floor directly under-
neath the appliance.
The cut surfaces of the worktop are to be protected against moisture
using a suitable sealant.
The sealant seals the appliance to the work top with no gap.
Ensure anti-shock protection through correct installation by a qualified
electrician.
Safety instructions when connecting to the electric-
ity supply
If this appliance’s mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by a spe-
cial cable (type H05BB-F Tmax 90°C; or higher). The latter is available
from the Customer Care Department.
Observe electrical safety rules.
A device must be provided in the electrical installation which allows the
appliance to be disconnected from the mains at all poles with a contact
opening width of at least 3 mm
Suitable isolation devices include line protecting cut-outs, fuses (screw
type fuses are to be removed from the holder), earth leakage trips and
contactors.
Safety instructions when connecting to the gas sup-
ply
1 Warning!
When installing, the appliance must not be connected to the electrical
supply. Disconnect the mains plug or switch off or take out the fuses.
Shut off mains gas supply.
A stop tap must be built-in between the house’s gas supply and the
appliance.

Before connecting the appliance, check whether the local connection
conditions (type of gas and gas pressure) match the appliance’s set-
up.
The settings for this appliance are given on the appliance’s rating
plate.
The present settings for the type of gas and gas pressure are given on
a sticker near the connection pipe.
This appliance is not connected to an exhaust gas outlet. It must be
connected in accordance with the installation conditions that apply.
Special attention is to be paid to suitable ventilation.
Gas connection
The 1/2’’ gas connection pipe is located on the lefthand side of the
back of the appliance.

trated.
It is recommended that a gas
safety socket is used.
The connection can be permanent
or using a permitted gas safety
hose assembly with a socket.
The hose assembly must be posi-
tioned such that it is not in con-
tact with anything and must not
come into contact with a move-
able part of the built-in unit (e.g. a drawer).
The gas hob can be changed over to other types of gas. Conversion
kits for other gas types are available in specialist shops.
Cutting the seal to length
A sealing tape is stuck to the underside of the appliance. The two
ends overlap and must be cut off flush.
1 Warning!
After installation always check the tightness of the connections using a
soap solution. Never use a flame to check the tightness.
Using the appliance for the first time
Ignite each ring burner and test burning stability at maximum and
minimum power.

Installing more than one Frontline hob
Additional parts: cross bar(s), heat resistant silicon, rubber block, shav-
ing blade.
3 Only use special heat-resistant silicon.
Cut-out section
Distance from the wall: at least 50 mm
Depth:490 mm
Width: The widths of all appliances to be built-in are added together,
minus 20 mm (see also “Overview of all appliance widths”)
Example:
Installing more than one appliance
1. Work out the size of the cut-out section and saw it out.
2. Remove Frontline strip from the appliances by hand (magnetic fasten-
ing).
3. Lay the appliances one at a time on something soft (for example a
blanket) with the underside facing upwards.
4. Screw / clip fixing plates / retaining grips into the appropriate holes in
the protective boxes.
