Correct use
This appliance should be used only
for normal domestic cooking and fry-
ing of food.
The appliance must not be used as a
work surface or as a storage surface.
Additions or modifications to the ap-
pliance are not permitted.
Gas/electrical safety
This appliance must only be con-
nected by a qualified installation
engineer. Before installation and us-
ing for the first time, the operating
and installation instructions are to be
followed.
The appliance must only be installed
in accordance with the regulations in
force and only in a well ventilated,
sufficiently large room. If in doubt,
speak to your installer.
In the event of faults with the appli-
ance or damage to the burner or the
glass ceramic (cracks, scratches,
splits), switch off the appliance, shut
off gas supply. Do not use the appli-
ance if damaged!
If away from home for a long time:
shut off mains gas supply.
Repairs to the appliance must only
be carried out by qualified service
engineers. Considerable danger may
result from improper repairs. If re-
pairs become necessary, please
contact our Customer Care Depart-
ment or your dealer.
Using a gas cooking appliance leads
to a build up of heat and humidity in
the room in which it is installed. Make
sure there is good ventilation in the
kitchen: Open the windows or vents
or install an extractor hood.
If the appliance is used intensively or
for a long time, provide additional
ventilation: Open window or operate
cooker hood on a high setting.
Children’s safety
Small children must be kept away
from the appliance.
Only let bigger children work on the
appliance under supervision.
Safety during use
Warning in the event of a smell of
gas:
Do not activate any electrical switch-
es.

Do not light matches or lighters, do
not smoke.
Open windows and doors, ventilate
very well.
Shut off gas supply to the appliance
and mains gas supply.
Contact your gas company’s emer-
gency service or the servicedepart-
ment.
Do not do anything to the appliance.
In addition follow the safety instruc-
tions of your local gas supplier.
Be careful if connecting electrical ap-
pliances to sockets near to this ap-
pliance. Electrical leads must not be
allowed to come near hot rings.
Warning: Risk of burns!
During operation the rings become
hot.
Overheated fats and oils can ignite
very quickly. When cooking with fat
or oil (e.g. chips) do not leave the ap-
pliance unattended.
Do not place or store flammable liq-
uids, highly inflammable materials or
fusible objects (e.g. plastic film, plas-
tic, aluminium) on or near the appli-
ance.
Safety when cleaning
For cleaning, the appliance must be
switched off and cooled down.
For safety reasons, the cleaning of
the appliance with steam jet or high-
pressure cleaning equipment is not
permitted.
How to avoid damage to the appli-
ance
The glass ceramic can be damaged
by objects falling onto it.
Objects that melt and things that boil
over can burn onto the glass ceramic
and should be removed straighta-
way.

Before using for the first time
Remove burner cap.
Remove any stickers that are on the
glass ceramic.
Put a few drops of glass ceramic
cleaner on the glass ceramic and rub
with a cloth or kitchen paper.
Wipe glass ceramic dry.
Wash the burner cap with hot water
and washing up liquid. Dry off.
Replace burner cap and pan stand.

Ring burner
The appliance is equipped with fully
protected ring burners. If the flames
go out, for whatever reason, the gas
supply is automatically closed off.

ATTENTION!
Before commissioning, ensure that the
burner caps are straight on the burner
bodies.
If the burner caps are not on straight,
the gas flame will not burn evenly and
this can cause damage to the burner.
Important
The apertures for the gas flames on
the burner crown must not be
blocked by foods that have boiled
over or by cleaning products.

Switching the appliance on and off
1. Turn the ring switch to the left to
maximum power .
2. Press the ring switch in firmly, until
the gas has ignited. After a success-
ful ignition hold the ring switch de-
pressed for about 5 seconds. If the
flames should go out, repeat the ig-
nition process.
3. Set the desired power. The power
can be set progressively from maxi-
mum power to minimum power .
4. To end the cooking process, turn
back to the Off position.

In the event of a power cut or also
when the spark plug is wet (because
of food boiling over or cleaning) the
rings can also be ignited using a gas
lighter or a match.

Only take cookware from the ring
when at minimum power or in the
Off Position •.

Cookware
Use cookware with a flat bottom. The
cookware must stand firmly on the pan
brackets.
Energy saving
If possible, always place lids on the
pans.
The flames should not burn out be-
yond the bottom of the cookware.
We recommend the following sizes:
Ring Minimum diameter of the cookware

Cleaning and Care
Warning: During cleaning the burn-
ers must be switched off. Ensure
that the hob has cooled down suffi-
ciently so that you can touch all
parts safely.
Important: Sharp objects and abra-
sive cleaning materials will damage
the appliance. Clean with water and
washing up liquid.
Important: Residues from cleaning
agents will damage the appliance.
Remove residues with water and
washing up liquid.
Glass ceramic
1. Place the scraper on the glass ce-
ramic surface at an angle.
2. Remove residues by sliding the
blade over the surface.
3. Wipe the appliance with a damp
cloth and a little washing up liquid.
4. Rub the appliance dry using a clean
cloth.

Burner cap
Unscrew the burner cap for cleaning:
Wash both parts, the burner crown and
the burner cover in hot water.
For heavy soiling, soak first and then re-
move with a soft brush.
Dry off.
Screw back together.
The flame apertures of the burner crown
must always be clean and free of debris.
Pan brackets
Wash the pan brackets using hot water
and washing-up liquid. Soak heavy res-
idues with a wet cloth.
Please don’t wash burner crown,
burner cover and pan bracket in the
dishwasher.
Removable Frontline strip
The aluminium Frontline strip fastens on
by means of magnets. It is easy to re-
move by hand and can be cleaned with
detergent. Please do not use any scour-
ing agents or sponges that scratch. Do
not clean the strip in the dishwasher.

What to do if
If you are unable to remedy the
problem by following the above
suggestions, please contact your
dealer or the Customer Care De-
partment.
Warning! Repairs to the appliance
are only to be carried out by quali-
fied service engineers. Considera-
ble danger to the user may result
from improper repairs.
If the appliance has been wrongly
operated, the visit from the custom-
er service technician or dealer may
not take place free of charge, even
during the warranty period.

Ring burners are not igniting. The switch was not depressed
firmly enough.
Depress switch firmly as far as
it will go.
The spark plug is damp or

cal wiring (fuse box) has been
tripped.
Check the fuses. If the fuse

Disposal
Packaging material
The packaging materials are envi-
ronmentally friendly and can be re-
cycled. The plastic components are
identified by markings, e.g. >PE<,
>PS<, etc. Please dispose of the
packaging materials in the appro-
priate container at the community
waste disposal facilities.
Old appliance
The symbol
W on the product or on
its packaging indicates that this
product may not be treated as
household waste. Instead it shall be
handed over to the applicable col-
lection point for the recycling of
electrical and electronic equipment.
By ensuring this product is dis-
posed of correctly, you will help pre-
vent potential negative
consequences for the environment
and human health, which could oth-
erwise be caused by inappropriate
waste handling of this product. For
more detailed information about re-
cycling of this product, please con-
tact your local city office, your
household waste disposal service
or the shop where you purchased
the product.

Installation Instructions
Safety instructions when building in
The laws, ordinances, directives and
standards in force in the country of use
are to be followed (safety regulations,
proper recycling in accordance with the
regulations, etc.)
Installation may only be carried out by a
qualified electrician.
The minimum distances to other appli-
ances and units are to be observed.
Anti-shock protection must be provided
by the installation, for example drawers
may only be installed with a protective
floor directly underneath the appliance.
The cut surfaces of the worktop are to
be protected against moisture using a
suitable sealant.
The sealant seals the appliance to the
work top with no gap.
Ensure anti-shock protection through
correct installation by a qualified install-
er.
Safety instructions when connect-
ing to the electricity supply
If this appliance’s mains cable is dam-
aged, it must be replaced by a special
cable (type H05BB-F Tmax 90°C; or
higher). The latter is available from the
Customer Care Department.
Observe electrical safety rules.
A device must be provided in the electri-
cal installation which allows the appli-
ance to be disconnected from the mains
at all poles with a contact opening width
of at least 3 mm.
Suitable isolation devices include line
protecting cut-outs, fuses (screw type
fuses are to be removed from the hold-
er), earth leakage trips and contactors.
Safety instructions when connect-
ing to the gas supply
Warning!
When installing, the appliance must
not be connected to the electrical
supply. Disconnect the mains plug
or switch off or take out the fuses.
Shut off mains gas supply.
A stop tap must be built-in between
the house’s gas supply and the ap-
pliance.
Before connecting the appliance,
check whether the local connection
conditions (type of gas and gas pres-
sure) match the appliance’s set-up.
The settings for this appliance are
given on the appliance’s rating plate.
The present settings for the type of
gas and gas pressure are given on a
sticker near the connection pipe.
This appliance is not connected to
an exhaust gas outlet. It must be
connected in accordance with the
installation conditions that apply.
Special attention is to be paid to suit-
able ventilation.

Gas connection
The 1/2’’ gas connection pipe is lo-
cated on the left-hand side of the
back of the appliance.
Burner rail end piece with nut (1),
gasket (2) and adjustable fitting (3)
are to be assembled as illustrated.
It is recommended that a gas safety
socket is used.
The connection can be permanent
or using a permitted gas safety hose
assembly with a socket.
The hose assembly must be posi-
tioned such that it is not in contact
with anything and must not come
into contact with a moveable part of
the built-in unit (e.g. drawer).
The gas hob can be changed over to
other types of gas. Conversion kits
for other gas types are available in
specialist shops.
Cutting the seal to length
A sealing tape is stuck to the under-
side of the appliance. The two ends
overlap and must be cut off flush.
Warning!
After installation always check the tight-
ness of the connections using a soap
solution. Never use a flame to check
the tightness.
Using the appliance for the first time
Ignite each ring burner and test
burning stability at maximum and
minimum power.
