ASSEMBLINGPRESSUREWASHER

Your Craftsmanpressure washer will needassembly before

operation:

1. Fill out and sendin registration card.

2. Attach handleto main unit.

3. Connectdetergent siphon tube to pump.

4. Add oil to engine crankcase.

5. Add fuel to fuel tank.

7. Connectpressure hoseto spray gun and pump.

8. Connectwater supply to pump.

9. Attach nozzleextension to spray gun.

10. Select/attach quick connect spray tip to nozzleextension.

Attach HandleandAccessory Tray

1. Placehandle (B) onto handle supports (C) connectedto

main unit. Make sure holes (D) in handle align with holes

(D) on handle supports.

NOTICE It may be necessaryto move the handlesupports

from side to side in order to align the handleso it will slide

over the handlesupports.

2. insert carriage bolts (E) through holes from inside of

unit and attach plastic handleknobs (F) from outside of

unit. Tighten by hand.

3. Placebottle brackets (G) facing outside over holes in

handlesupports. Securebottle bracketswith carriage

bolts (H) and 91asticknobs (J). Tighten by hand.

4. insert multi-colored quick connect spray tips and other

supplied accessoriesin spacesprovided on handle.

2-iN-1 Soap System

The pressurewasher isequippedwith two detergent

siphoning tubes.

Project Pro PerfectMix Siphon

Blue tube with blue bottle cap:

When usingthe blue PerfectMixsiphon, usethe

PerfectMix ExtremeConcentratestraight from

the bottle.

Add Engine Oil

1. Placepressurewasher on a flat, levelsurface.

2. Cleanareaaround oil fill and removeyellow oil fill cap.

3. Hold neck of supplied oil pouch and remove cap.

4. Slowly pour contents of oil pouch into oil fiii opening to

the point of overflowing at oil fill cap. DONOToverfill.

Standard Siphon Tube

Cleartube with filter:

When using the clearsiphon tube, dilute

1 part PerfectMix ExtremeConcentrateto

16 parts water (4 ozof concentrate

makes1/2 gallon of mix.) Canalso be

usedwith standard non-concentrated

detergents.

Attach Project Pro PerfectlVlix Siphon to Pump

Attach thetube end of the blue PerfectMix Siphon (A) to the

barbed hosefitting (B) on the pump.

Attach PerfectiVlix Detergent Siphon to

Concentrate Bottle

Removecapfrom PerfectMixbottle (not included) and insert

the PerfectMix Siphon (6). Screw the siphon unit to thetop

of the bottle (B). PlacePerfectMix bottle in the wire-form

bracket on the handle.Usethe clip on the cap (0) to snap

siphon to wire form bracketwhen siphon is not in a

concentrate bottle.

6. Replaceoil fill cap/dipstick and fully tighten.

AddFuel

Fuel must meet these requirements:

• Clean,fresh, unleadedgasoline.

• A minimum of 87 octane/87AKI (91 RON).For high

altitude use, see HighAltitude.

• Gasolinewith upto 10% ethanol (gasohol)is acceptable.

NOTICE Useof unapprovedfuels could damagepressure

To protect the fuel system from gum formation, mix ina fuel

stabilizerwhen adding fuel. SeeStorage.All fuel is not the

same. If you experiencestarting or performanceproblems

after using fuel, switch to a different fuel provider or change

brands. This engine iscertified to operateon gasoline. The

emission control system for this engine is EM (Engine

Modifications).

1. Cleanarea around fuel fill cap, remove cap.

2. Slowly add regular unleadedfuel (A) to fuel tank (B). Be

careful not to overfill. Allow about 1.5" (4 cm) (C) of tank

spacefor fuel expansion.

3. install fuel capand wait for any spilled fuel to evaporate.

CAUTION! Alcohol-blendedfuels (calledgasohol, ethanol or

methanol) can attract moisture, which leadsto separationand

formation of acids during storage.Acidic gascan damagethe

fuel system of an enginewhile in storage.

To avoidengine problems, the fuel system should betreated

with a fuel preserver or emptied before storage of 30 days or

longer. If adding a fuel preserver,fill the fuel tank with fresh

fuel. If only partially filled, air in the tank will promote fuel

deterioration during storage. If fuel preserver is not used,

drain thefuel tank, start the engine and let it run until the fuel

lines and carburetor are empty. Usefresh fuel next season.

NEVERuseengine or carburetor cleanerproducts in thefuel

tank as permanent damagemay occur.

HighAltitude

At altitudes over 5,000 feet (1524 meters), a minimum

85 octane / 85 AKi (89 RON)gasolineis acceptable.To

remainemissions compliant, high altitude adjustment is

required. Operationwithout this adjustment wiii cause

decreasedperformance, increasedfuel consumption, and

increasedemissions. Seea qualified Searsdealerfor high

altitude adjustment information. Operationof the engine at

altitudes below 2,500 feet (762 meters) with the high altitude

kit is not recommended.

Lubrication of o-rings is extremely important for installation

and operation. The useof a lubricant (petroleum or synthetic

grease)during assembly helps seat o-rings properly and

provides an improved seal. It alsohelps protect the o-ring

from damageby abrasion, pinching or cutting and extends

the life of the o-ring.

NOTICE ALWAYSapplya small amount of lubricant on o-

rings prior to assembling the garden hoseto the pump

inlet (D), high pressure hose to pump outlet (E), high

pressure hose(F), spray gun (6), and nozzleextension(H).

Lubricateall connectionsshownbelow, following these

1. inspect and clean connecting surfaces prior to

lubrication and assembly.

2. Uselubricants sparingly during assembly;a light film is

all that is required.

3. Usea small brush or cotton swab to applygrease

directly to o-rings wherethey are not accessible (QC

fitting, M22 fitting).

Automatic Cool DownSystem (Thermal Relief)

If you run the engine on your pressure washer for

3-5 minutes without pressing the trigger on the spray gun,

circulating water in the pump can reachtemperatures above

Examinegarden hoseinlet screen. Cleanif it is clogged or

replaceif it is torn.

CheckHighPressure Hose

High pressure hoses candevelop leaksfrom wear, kinking,

or abuse, inspect hose beforeeachuse. Checkfor cuts,

leaks,abrasions,bulging of cover, or damageor movement

of couplings. If anyof these conditions exist, replacehose

immediately.

Examinedetergent tube and clean if clogged. The tube

should fit tightly on the barbed fitting of fitting. Examinethe

DetergentSiphoning CheckBali

Occasionallycheck bali in detergent siphoning system may

become stuck from storage, dried soap, or minerals in water.

Thecheck bail can be freed by performing the following:

Removedetergent siphoning hosefrom barbed fitting

on pump.

Using a firm, blunt object 7/64" in diameter or smaller,

by at least 1" long, such as an Alien wrench, slowly

insert the object into the barbedfitting until you meet

resistance.This resistance isthe checkbail.

5. Slowly push down until you feel the bail move slightly,

push no more than 1/8". Slight pressure may be

required to free the ball.

6. Repeatsteps 4 and 5 if necessary.

7. Reinstall detergent siphoning hose onto barb fitting.

8. Treat with PumpSaveras described in Protecting the

Pump during storage to prevent reoccurrence.

CheckSprayGunand NozzleExtension

Examinehoseconnectionto spraygun and makesureit is

secure.Testtrigger bypressingit and makingsureit springs

backinto placewhenyou releaseit. Donotdepressredbutton

andtesttrigger.You shouldnot beableto presstrigger. Replace

spraygun immediatelyif it failsanyof thesetests.

Nozzle Maintenance

A pulsing sensationfelt while squeezingthe spray gun

trigger may becaused by excessivepump pressure.The

principal causeof excessivepump pressure is a spray tip

clogged or restricted with foreign materials, such asdirt, etc.

To correct the problem, immediately cleanthe spray tip

following these instructions:

1. Shut off engine and turn off water supply.

2. ALWAYSpoint spray gun in a safe direction, press red

button and and squeezespray gun trigger to release

retainedhigh water pressure.

3. Removespray tip from end of nozzleextension.

4. Use a small paper clip to free anyforeign material

clogging or restricting spray tip (A).

5. Removenozzleextensionfrom spray gun.

6. Using a garden hose, remove additional debris by back

flushing water through nozzleextension. Backflush

between30 to 60 seconds.

7. Reinstall spray tip into nozzleextension.

8. Reconnect nozzleextensionto spray gun.

9. Make sure garden hose is connectedto water inlet.

Checkthat high pressure hoseis connectedto spray

gun and pump. Turn on water.

10. Start enginefollowing instructions How to Start Your

Pressure Washer.

11. Test pressurewasher by operating with each quick

connect spray tip.

Changing Pump Oil

Changeoil after first 50 hours of operation and then every

200 hours or 3 months, whichever occurs first.

NOTICE Whenchanging pump oil, useonly high quality

nondetergent 30 weight oil. Useno special additives.

NOTICE Pump oil is availableas an optional accessory, it is

not includedwith the pressure washer. Pump oil, item 75127

Change pumpoil as follows:

1. Cleanarea around brass oil drain plug at bottom of

pump.

2. Removeoil drain plug. Drainoil completely into an

approvedcontainer.

3. Whenoil hascompletely drained, install oil drain plug

and tighten firmly.

4. Cleanarea around pump oil dipstick. Removedipstick

and fill pump with recommendedoil to "Fuir' mark on

dipstick (typically 0.35L or 12 oz.).

5. install pump oil dipstick.

6. Wipe up anyspilled oil.

We recommendthe use of Briggs & Stratton Warranty

Certifiedoils for best performance. Other high-quality

detergent oils are acceptableif classified for serviceSF,SG,

SH,SJ or higher. DONOTusespecial additives.

Outdoortemperatures determine the proper oil viscosity for

the engine.Usethe chart to selectthe best viscosity for the

outdoor temperature range expected.

CheckingOilLevel

Oil level should be checked prior to eachuseor at least every

2. Removeoil fill cap and wipe cleanwith cloth.

3. Verify oil is at the point of overflowing at oil fill opening.

Replaceand tighten oil fill cap.

Adding Engine Oil

1. Make sure pressure washer is on a levelsurface.

3. if needed,slowly pour oil into oil fill opening to the point

of overflowing at oil fill cap.

ChangingEngineOil

If you are usingyour pressurewasher under extremely dirty

or dusty conditions, or in extremely hot weather, changeoil

more often.

Changeoil while engine is still warm from running,as

1. Make sure unit is on a levelsurface.

2. Disconnectthe spark plug wire from the spark plug and

placethe wire where it cannot contact spark plug.

3. Cleanarea around oil drain plug (A). The oil drain plug is

located at baseof engine,opposite carburetor.

4. Removeoil drain plug and drain oil completely into a

suitable container.

5. Reinstall oil drain plug and tighten securely. Removeoil

fill cap.

6. Slowly pour oil (about 20 oz.) into oil fiii opening (B) to

the point of overflowing (C) at oil fill cap.

7. Reinstall oil fill cap. Fingertighten cap securely.

8. Wipe up anyspilled oil.

ServiceAir Cleaner

Your engine will not run properly and may be damagedif you

run it with a dirty air cleaner. Service more often if operating

under dirty or dusty conditions. Replacementsare available

atyour local Searsservicecenter.

To servicethe air cleaner, follow thesesteps:

1. Loosenscrew (D) and tilt cover (E) down.

2. Carefullyremove cartridge (F) assembly.

3. To clean cartridge, gently tap pleatedpaperside on a fiat

surface.

4. Reinstallcleanor newcartridge assembly inside cover.

5. insert cover's tabs (G) into slots in bottom of base(H).

6. Tilt cover up and tighten screw securelyto base.

Changingthe spark plug will help your engine to start easier

1. Cleanareaaround spark plug.

2. Removeand inspect spark plug.

3. Replacespark plug if electrodes are pitted, burned or

porcelain is cracked. Usethe recommendedreplacement

plug. SeeSpecifications.

4. Checkelectrode gap with wire feelergauge and reset

spark plug gap to recommendedgap if necessary(see

Specifications).

5. install spark plug and tighten firmly.
