UNPACKTHEPRESSUREWASHER

ASSEMBLINGPRESSUREWASHER
Your Craftsmanpressure washer will needassembly before
operation:
1. Fill out and sendin registration card.
2. Attach handle and accessorytray.
3. Connectdetergent siphon hoseto pump.
4. Add oil to engine crankcase.
5. Add fuel to fuel tank.
7. Connectwater supply to pump.
8. Attach nozzleextension to spray gun.
9. Attach quick connect selector nozzleto nozzleextension.
Attach Handleand Accessory Tray
1. Placehandle(A) onto handle supports (B) connectedto
main unit. Make sure holes (C) in handlealign with holes
(C) on handlesupports.

insert handle carriagebolts (D) through holes from
inside of unit and attach a plastic knob (E) from outside
of unit. Tighten by hand. Byloosening both knobs to the
middle section of the attachmentbolt, the upper handle
canfold forward to store fiat atop the cold engine.
NOTICE DONOTfold the handle down while the engine is
hot.
3. Placeaccessorytray (F) over holes (6) on handle
(viewing from backof unit). Pushthe tree clips (H) into
the holes until they sit fiat against the accessorytray.

accessorytray. See How to UseAccessory Tray.
6. Connectpressure hose to spray gun and pump.

Align hosewrap (A) to the back side of accessorytray.
Locate notch with "unlock"icon (B) on hose wrap.
Position notch at top with hosewrap in vertical position.
Clips in the back of accessorytray should slide into the
grooves on the inside surface of hosewrap. Slide hose
wrap on back of accessorytray and rotate 1/8 turn until
"locked"icon (C) is in vertical position. Hosewrap is
easily removed from the accessorytray for wrapping and
unwrapping of the high pressure hose. A clip to secure
the hoseon the reel makesit easyto wrap the hose
while it is detachedfrom the accessorytray.
Attach ProjectPro@PerfectiVIWMSiphon to
Pump
Attach the hose end of the blue PerfectMixTM Siphon (G) to
the barbed hosefitting (H) on the pump.
Attach PerfectMWMDetergentSiphon to
ConcentrateBottle
PlacePerfectMixTM bottle (not included) in the wire-form
bracketon the handle. Removecap from bottle and insert the
PerfectMixTM Siphon (6). Screw the siphon unit to the top of
the bottle (J). Usethe clip on the cap (K) to snap siphon to
wire form bracketwhen siphon is not in a concentrate bottle.

Attach bottle bracket(D) to handlewith carriagebolt (E)
and black plastic knob (F). Tighten by hand.
2-iN-1 SoapSystem
The pressurewasher is equippedwith two detergent
siphoning hoses.
ProjectPro@PerfectMWMSiphon
Bluetube with blue bottle cap:
When using the blue PerfectMixTM siphon, use
the PerfectMixTM ExtremeConcentratestraight
from the bottle.
Standard Siphon Tube
Cleartube with filter:
When using the clearsiphon tube, dilute
1 part PerfectlViixTM ExtremeConcentrate
to 16 parts water (4 oz of concentrate
makes1/2 gallon of mix.)
Add Engine Oil
1. Placepressurewasher on a flat, levelsurface.
2. Cleanareaaround oil fill and remove oil fill cap/dipstick.
3. Using oil funnel (optional), slowly pour contents of
supplied oil into oil fill opening, frequently checking oil
level. DONOTOVERFILL.
NOTICE Improper treatment of pressure washer could
damage it and shorten its life.
DONOTattemptto crank or startthe engine before it has been
properly servicedwith the recommended oil. This could result in
an engine failure.
4. Replaceoil fill cap/dipstick and fully tighten.
AddFuel

WHEN ADDINGFUEL
Turn )ressure washerengine OFFandlet it cool at least2
minutes beforeremoving fuel cap. Loosencap slowly to relieve
pressure in tank.
Fill fuel tank outdoors.
DONOToverfill tank. Allow spacefor fuel expansion.
If fuel spills, wait until it evaporatesbefore starting engine.
Keepfuel awayfrom sparks, open flames, pilot lights, heat,and
other ignition sources.
Checkfuel lines,tank, cap andfittings frequently for cracks or
leaks. Replaceif necessary.
DONOTlight a cigarette or smoke.
1. Use clean,fresh, regular unleadedfuel with a minimum
of 86 octane with equipment. DONOTmix oil with fuel.
2. Placepressure washer on a levelsurface. Cleanarea
around fuel fill cap, remove cap.
3. Slowly add regular unleadedfuel to bottom of fuel level
limit in neck of fuel tank. Becareful not to overfill.
MAXmMUM FUEL LEVEL
4. Install fuel cap and allow any spilled fuel to evaporate
beforestarting engine.
CAUTION! Alcohol-blended fuels (calledgasohol, ethanol or
methanol) canattract moisture, which leadsto separation and
formation of acids during storage.Acidic gascandamagethe
fuel system of an enginewhile in storage.
To avoid engine problems, the fuel system should be emptied
beforestorage of 30 days or longer. Drainthe fuel tank, start
the engineand let it run until the fuel lines and carburetor are
empty. Usefresh fuel next season.See Storagefor additional
information.
NEVERuse engine or carburetor cleaner products in the fuel
tank as permanent damagemay occur.
LubricateO-Rings
Lubrication of o-rings is extremely important for installation
and operation. The useof a lubricant (petroleum or synthetic
grease)during assembly helps seat o-rings properly and
provides an improved seal. It alsohelps protect the o-ring
from damageby abrasion, pinching or cutting and extends
the life of the o-ring.
NOTICE ALWAYSapply a small amount of lubricant on
o-rings prior to assemblingthe garden hoseto the pump (A),
high pressurehose (B),spray gun (C), and nozzle
extension(D).
Lubricateall connectionsshownbelow, following these
instructions:
1. inspect and clean connecting surfaces prior to
lubrication and assembly.
2. Uselubricants sparingly during assembly;a light film is
all that is required.
3. Usea small brush or cotton swab to applygrease
directly to o-rings wherethey are not accessible (QC
fitting, M22 fitting).
ConnectHoseandWater Supply to Pump
NOTICE DONOTrun the pump without the water supply
connectedand turned on.
= Damagetoequipmentresultingfromfailuretofollowthis
instructionwillvoidwarranty.
4. Runwater through garden hosefor 30 secondsto flush
it of debris. Turn off water.
NOTICE DONOTsiphon standing water for the water
supply. Use ONLYcold water (less than 100°F).
5. Connectgarden hose(not to exceed50 feet in length) to
water inlet. Tighten by hand.
NOTICE Removeand discard the shipping caps from the
pump's high pressure outlet and water inlet before attaching
hoses.

capableof supplying water at a flow rate greaterthan
3.3 gallons per minute and no less than 20 PSi at

push no more than 1/8". Slight pressure may be required
to free the bail.

secure.Testtrigger by pressing it and making sure it springs

Checking Oil Level
Oil levelshould be checkedprior to eachuse or at least every
8 hours of operation. Keepoil level maintained.
1. Placepressurewasher on a levelsurface and cleanarea
around oil dipstick.
2. Removeoil dipstick and wipe dipstick with cleancloth.
insert and removedipstick without screwing it into the
filler neck.

Verify oil is at upper limit mark on dipstick. Replaceand

1. Drain fuel tank by running pressure washer until fuel
tank is empty.
2. Disconnect spark plug wire and keepit away from spark
plug.
3. Cleanarea around oil fill, removeoil fill cap/dipstick.
Wipe dipstick clean.
4. Tipyour pressurewasher toward the oil fiii neck to drain
oil into a suitable container. When crankcaseis empty,
return pressure washer to upright position.
5. Slowly pour recommendedoil (approximately 18 oz.)
into oil fiii opening. Pauseto permit oil to settle. Fillto
upper limit mark on dipstick.
6. Replaceand tighten dipstick.
7. Wipe up any remainingoil.
8. Reconnectspark plug wire to spark plug.
ServiceAir Cleaner
Your enginewill not run properly and may be damaged ifyou
run it with a dirty air cleaner.Service more often if operating
under dirty or dusty conditions. Replacementsare available
at your local Searsservicecenter.
To servicetheair cleaner, foJJowthese steps:
1. Press latch tabs (A) on top of air cleanercover (B), and
remove cover.

2. Carefullyremove air cleaner(C)from base (D).
3. Cleanair cleanerby tapping it severaltimes on a hard
surface to remove dirt, or blow compressed air (not to
exceed30 psi) through air cleanerfrom clean sidethat
faces engine.
NOT/CE NEVERtry to brush off dirt. Brushingwill force dirt
into the fibers.
4. Wipe dirt from air cleanerbody and cover using a moist
rag. Becareful to prevent dirt from entering air duct (E)
that leadsto the carburetor.
5. install clean (or new) air cleanerin base.Air cleaner
must fit securely in base.
6. Reinstallair cleanercover.

ServiceSpark Plug
Changingthe spark plug will help your engine to start easier
and run better.
1. Disconnectthe capfrom the spark plug and cleanarea
around spark plug.
2. Removeand inspect spark plug.
3. Replacespark plug if electrodesareworn, or if insulator
is crackedor chipped.
4. For replacement,use recommendedspark plug, NGK
BPR6ES.
5. Checkelectrode gap with wire feelergauge and set gap
at 0.028-0.031 inches 0.70-0.80 mm), if necessary.
6A. When reinstalling original spark plug, tighten 1/8-1/4
turn after the spark plug seatsto compress the washer.
6B. When installing newspark plug, tighten 1/2 turn after
the spark plug seatsto compress the washer.
7. Attach the spark plug capto the spark plug.
