Section III – Other Modifications or Programming
Connect the primary mobile microphone to the VXR-1000 for most applications.
If the mobile radio is to be used while the VXR-1000 is powered-off, connect pins 8 and 9 as described in
the table in Section I and connect the mobile microphone directly to the mobile radio (not to the VXR-1000).
Alternate power on/off control for the VXR-1000 can be obtained by using the radio’s A button:
1. Connect the Orange (Red) wire to the collector of Q2015.
2. Set the VXR-1000’s internal jumper pads as follows:
a. JP1001 – CLOSED
b. JP1002 – CLOSED
c. JP1003 – OPEN
3. Program the A button as “Accessory”.
Carefully drill a hole in the radio’s chassis to allow cable entrance to the Control Unit compartment.
Other programming and setup of the VXR-1000, the associated portable radio, and the connected mobile radio are required. These
must be accomplished by a knowledgeable installer/technician consistent with the equipment’s capabilities and the end user’s
requirements.
